The Chicago Bears continue to stay aggressive as the season pushes deeper into a critical stretch, making multiple roster moves that signal urgency, depth management, and a clear focus on winning now. In today’s update, we break down every move, why it matters, and how it impacts the Bears heading into their upcoming matchup against the Cleveland Browns and the broader NFC playoff race.
Chicago officially signed linebacker Ty Summers to the practice squad, adding veteran depth to a linebacker room that has been stretched thin by injuries. Summers brings experience, special teams value, and familiarity with multiple defensive systems, making him a plug-and-play depth option if needed. At the same time, the Bears released Royce Newman from the practice squad, continuing to reshape the bottom of the roster as they prioritize flexibility and performance.
One of the biggest developments comes with Kyler Gordon being placed on injured reserve, a tough blow for a defense that relies heavily on his versatility in coverage and run support. Gordon’s absence will test the Bears’ secondary depth, but it also opens opportunities for other defensive backs to step into larger roles as the coaching staff adjusts the game plan.
To offset injuries and reinforce the active roster, the Bears elevated RB Brittian Brown and LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin to the 53-man roster. Brown provides reliable depth in the backfield while Reeves-Maybin adds leadership, tackling ability, and special teams excellence. These elevations suggest the Bears are prioritizing toughness, experience, and situational reliability as they prepare for a physical matchup.
There’s also positive news on the injury front. According to league reporting, the Bears are expected to get rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze back for the game against the Browns. Odunze’s return would be massive for the offense, giving Caleb Williams another dynamic weapon who can stretch the field, win contested catches, and stress opposing secondaries. His presence alone forces defenses to adjust coverages and opens opportunities for the entire offense.
Around the division and conference, the Bears could also benefit from developments elsewhere. The Green Bay Packers may be without star running back Josh Jacobs in their Week 15 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Any setback for Green Bay impacts the NFC North race, and Chicago fans will be closely watching how that situation unfolds as the playoff picture tightens.
Between roster adjustments, injury updates, and division-wide implications, this is a pivotal moment for the Chicago Bears. Every move matters, every return shifts momentum, and every absence reshapes the path forward. Stay locked in as we break down what it all means for the Bears right now — and what comes next.

Bears news ahead of their week 15 matchup against the Cleveland Browns includes four total roster moves including signing a linebacker, releasing an offensive lineman and bringing up two players from the practice squad. And then Kyler Gordon hits the IR for the third time this year. But Roma Dun will be back against the Browns according to Jeremy Fowler. I’m going to break it all down, but before I get more into today’s show, if you want a Bears win on Sunday, hit the like button on this video. And along with that too, let’s get a let’s go Bears in the comment section below. And if you like, comment, and subscribe, you enter to win an autographed Coulson level mini helmet will be announced on Monday. If you hit all notifications on your subscription, you get an extra entry. Let’s get into it. Bears roster moves to start off today’s show ahead of their week 15 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. So, Bears made it official that they signed a good depth linebacker to the practice squad. He’s a little too new, so I can see why the Bears didn’t elevate him to the 53man roster, but it’s a good thing they brought him in. And that’s veteran linebacker and specialtamer Tai Summers, who played with uh Dennis Allen during his time with the New Orleans Saints, but also knows the NFC North because of his time not only with the Lions, but also with the Green Bay Packers. So going into Tai Summers real quick, the 61 241 pound linebacker is 29 years old attending TCU and is was the 226 overall pick in 2019 by the Green Bay Packers. What makes him special? He knows this defense. He also understands the culture that Ben Johnson has brought to this building considering he played for the Lions under Dan Campbell when Ben Johnson was also there. But understanding what exactly Dennis Allen’s defense brings makes him an instant plugandplay. Maybe a little bit of rust on him considering he was with the Lions for some of this season so far on their practice squad. But good to see the Bears make a move in order to bring him on to the practice squad up ahead of Green Bay, especially because he knows that Green Bay offense considering how much he practiced against them while he was under Matt Laflur’s uh regime in Green Bay. Now, let’s go through him real quick. the highly soughted linebacker out of TCU, the 319 total tackles during his time in college with 168 of them being solo, two interceptions with nine pass deflections and along with that too, 24 tackles for loss and 11 sacks, one force fumble and one fumble recovery. Not a bad player overall, but I like this for special teams because that is exactly his specialty, no pun intended. And it seems that the Bears need a little bit more help there as the season has gone on. So Bears bring in Tai Summers and this is exactly what he did during his first year with the Green Bay Packers on special teams with a little bit of play on the defensive side of the ball. But 39 total tackles, 36 of them coming on special teams with 27 of them being solo. One pass deflection that was from his very limited time on the defensive side of the ball. No tackles for loss sacks, force fumbles, or fumble recoveries, but still a good player to bring in and play special teams for the Chicago Bears. So happy to see that he’s on this roster. Now, unfortunately, someone that isn’t on this roster anymore that was released was a former veteran offensive lineman that actually did play for the Green Bay Packers, the Cardinals, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And that is veteran guard Royce Newman, big interior offensive lineman, who had a lot of hope in this league and actually knows this Bears team well considering he played in Green Bay and was a starter his entire rookie season. But the big interior offensive lineman, unfortunately, was released. So at 6’5, 310 lbs, 28 years old, attended Mississippi, is a Neapville native, so he knows this Bears team all too well. Was the 142nd overall pick in 2021 by the Green Bay Packers. He’s been on this Bears team for the last couple of weeks on the practice squad, but unfortunately he will not be on this Bears team at the moment. So wishing him the best of luck. But you know, Bears lost a good veteran during his rookie season in 2021 with the Green Bay Packers. Over 1,000 snaps on offense. He started at interior guard with allowing six sacks, five quarterback hits, five penalties, and 21 hurries. Not the greatest, but overall a good backup to have that has NFL experience that could have gotten called up quickly if needed. Bears will probably still keep him in their little circle, but there’s an opportunity that he could get picked up elsewhere, maybe by Green Bay if they want to learn a little bit about the Chicago Bears. Hopefully not, but he wishing him the best of luck to say the least. Now guys, before we get more into today’s show, we are less than 50 subscribers away from our next goal of 41,900. If you guys please could help us hit our next goal by hitting that subscribe button, but again liking and commenting so you can enter to win that autographed Colston Lovelin mini helmet. Now, there was two evaluations on this Bears team that brings players up to the 53man roster ahead of week 15 against the Cleveland Browns. And both of them are depth pieces. both I like a lot and I’ve talked about before. But starting off with Jaylen Reeves Maben, the veteran linebacker and special teamer is a one-time Pro Bowler during his time with the Detroit Lions for special teams specifically, but the former captain as well is big part of the NFL’s union. So, he’s a good representative to have in the locker room and understand how to keep things moving uh smoothly and also keeping players happy. But about him real quick, the former captain of the Detroit Lions again, one-time Pro Bowler as well as 61, 226 pounds, 30 years old, attended Tennessee and was the 124th overall pick in 2017 by the Detroit Lions. He’s played for the Lions and the Houston Texans during his career and his best season while playing linebacker came in 2021 where he had 82 total tackles, 53 of them solo with two pass deflections, four tackles for loss, two force fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He was a Pro Bowler back in 2024, but a really good depth piece for the Bears to bring in ahead of their week 15 match up against the Browns. This is a mustwin game, guys. No denial about that. You have to win at least 11 games to make the playoffs. As a wildcard team in the NFC this year, Bears are at nine. They need at least two more. And they have the Lions, the Packers, the Niners, and the Browns. This is by far the easiest game, but no easy game in the NFL, especially this late in the season. So happy that he got brought up and the most happy I’m about his entire thing is Britain Brown. Britain Brown, former UCLA running back, has been on the Chicago Bears. And you guys know I have pounded the table about this guy. Great backup running back and I think he’s better than Travis Homer. I think he’s better than Rashawn Johnson and I’m very happy to see him on the active roster. So at 61, 205 lbs, big bully running back, attended UCLA and is only 28 years old. He was the 250th overall pick in 2022 by the Las Vegas Raiders. He’s bounced around to a few different teams. Happy to see him in Chicago, though, because the one time he got a chance to play this year against the Bengals, he ripped it up. And also, he did a really good job during the preseason. But check this out. Five attempts, 37 rushing yards with 7.4 yards per carry, one rushing touchdown, two first downs. I think the Bears need to keep this guy on the 53man roster. Travis Homer just is a walking injury report, unfortunately. good on special teams when healthy, but we need a guy in the back field that can rip it up and bully his way to getting first downs. Kind of like Kyle Manungai does. Brighton Brown does that. Gives DeAndre Swift and him a little bit of a break. But along with that, too, good blocking running back as well. And he’s really good at hitting the gap for being 61 and over 200 lb. So happy to see that he’s back on the 53man roster. And I hope that the Bears sign him to it because I’m tired of seeing him bounce around. Feel like it might become a Carl Jones situation. He has one more good game potentially and gets picked up elsewhere. So, we’ll see what ends up happening there. Now, this is where everyone’s probably going to get frustrated. Kyler Gordon is out for the rest of the regular season. He was placed on IR according to Ian Rapaort in various different sources with a groin injury. Now, he is hopeful to return for the playoffs, which he does have the opportunity to do that. That being said, Kyler Gordon has only played in 117 snaps this year for the Chicago Bears, registering for seven tackles, five of them being solo, one fumble recovery. Oh, yeah. The Bears when he’s on the field have the fourth best defensive success rate when he’s not 28th. Clearly a huge impact. And Ben Johnson has expressed his frustration talking about how he barely knows him, wishes he could see him more on the field. And I couldn’t agree more because Dennis Allen walking into the season when the Bears offered Kyler Gordon a three-year $40 million contract, making him the highest nickel defensive back paid guy in the league was super excited about him. Kyler Gordon is making nearly 32 million guaranteed off that extension that kicks in next year. trainees barely played this year. Very frustrating from a financial standpoint. The Bears definitely should meet with the training staff, with the stren strength trap, the dietitian staff. I don’t care, but you need to figure out how to get this guy on the field. And Brad Bigs of the Chicago Tribune said a couple days ago, he was like, “Listen, I talked to Kyler after the Eagles game and he did everything he could to be healthy this year.” Well, the complete opposite happened. Which, by the way, Kyler Gordon has not completed an entire season during his NFL career. You guys can tell I’m a little bit frustrated about it. Wishing him the best. Hoping he gets better soon. put a positive vibe only in the comment section right now if you’re still here watching. But at the end of the day, not a good look. Wishing him a very, very speedy recovery. Now, let’s go into the rest of the news is that Roma Dun is expected to play versus the Cleveland Bounds. He missed last week with a stretch fracture in his foot. So happy to see that. And this was reported out by Jeremy Fowler earlier today at ESPN saying the Bears are optimistic about wide receiver Roma Dunes. Questionable with a foot playing Saturday versus Cleveland per sources. This helps spread out the offense considering that Roman Dunay is the leading yardage wide receiver for the Chicago Bears and receiving touchdown wide receiver for the Bears. Which is crazy to say because out of his six receiving touchdowns, five of them came in the first four games with 661 receiving yards, 15 yards per catch with 90 targets and 44 receptions. He’s catching less than half of his targets. Not always his fault, but he definitely has had some big drops. He needs to get back on the field, but don’t expect him to catch much. It’s going to be freezing cold and the Bears are definitely going to pound the rock, especially with how Cleveland’s defensive line is doing. Throw three guys on Miles Garrett run the complete opposite way every time. That’s all I got to say. But it’s going to be limited reps. We’ll see what ends up happening. But guys, with that, thank you as always for tuning in to that loaded report from just another year Chicago Bears. If you haven’t already, if you please like, comment, and subscribe. But with that, thank you as always for this episode of Just Another Your Chicago Bears. My name is Nick Broaddy, and as always, bear down, baby.

Let’s go bears!🐻⬇️good signing on TY. Good pickup along with Reeves. Brittain Brown is also a good running back 👀stats look nice so far…
It will be interesting to see how this BRUTAL Cold will affect the throwing and kicking game. I see a low scoring game as the Bears will up the run game and Garrett will manhandle your O-Line. Look at the AWS stats… The Browns "D" is pretty bad ass. I would say FCB but… they usually do that to themselves and picking on the Red Headed stepchild of the NFC North like the Viks and Lions fans do, almost seems to easy…but hey, you are still the Off Season Champs so………
