PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Former University of Texas star Scottie Scheffler earned the Jack Nicklaus Award as the PGA TOUR Player of the Year, the PGA TOUR announced Monday. This marks the fourth consecutive season that Scheffler has claimed the accolade.

A 19-time PGA TOUR winner who claimed six titles in 2025 including two majors with the PGA Championship and The Open Championship), became just the second player to win the award four or more consecutive times, joining Tiger Woods who accomplished the feat in 1999-2003.

The PGA TOUR Player of the Year award is determined by a member vote, with PGA TOUR members who played in at least 15 official FedEx Cup events during the 2025 season eligible to vote. Scheffler earned the Jack Nicklaus Award over three other nominees – Tommy Fleetwood, Ben Griffin and Rory McIlroy.

With a PGA TOUR-best six victories, Scheffler claimed at least six wins for the second straight season as he had seven victories in 2024. He joined Tiger Woods as the only players to record six or more wins in multiple seasons since 1983.

He ranked first in scoring average in Round 1 (67.45), Round 2 (68.00), Round 3 (68.40) and Round 4 (68.10), becoming the first player since Tiger Woods in 2000 to lead the TOUR in all four categories in a single season.

Scheffler finished inside the top 25 in all 20 of his starts in 2025, and he tallied a season-high 17 top-10 finishes (including 15 straight) and no missed cuts. He led the TOUR in strokes gained: tee to green (2.361), strokes gained: approach the green (1.291) and strokes gained: total (2.743).
