Scottie Scheffler made history once again on Monday, and he joined some elite company along the way.
Scheffler was named PGA Tour Player of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, joining Tiger Woods as the only players ever to win the award in at least four straight seasons.
Scheffler was victorious six times on the Tour this year, including winning the PGA Championship and Open Championship. He finished in the top 10 in 17 out of his 20 events and in the top 25 in all of them.
“On behalf of the PGA Tour, congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on being named PGA Tour Player of the Year and Aldrich Potgieter on earning PGA Tour Rookie of the Year honors for 2025,” PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp said in a statement, per ESPN’s Mark Schlabach. “Scottie’s consistent level of success has been nothing short of spectacular as he continues to chase history on the PGA Tour, and we’re excited to see what he will deliver in 2026.”
The World No. 1 notched his first win of the year with a victory at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson on May 4 before his first career win at the PGA Championship two weeks later. He won the Memorial Tournament for the second straight year before completing the third leg of the career Grand Slam by winning the Open Championship. He capped off the year with wins at the BMW Championship and the Procore Championship. Schlabach noted that Scheffler won “about $27.7 million” during the 2025 season.
The two-time Masters winner just needs the US Open to complete the career Grand Slam.
Scheffler beat out FedEx Cup champion Tommy Fleetwood, Masters champion Rory McIlroy and three-time PGA Tour winner Ben Griffin for this year’s Player of the Year award.
