Tiger Woods shares update on recovery and future PGA Tour plans

Tiger Woods reveals progress after back surgery and discusses his return to the PGA Tour.

PGA TOUR

The first season of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL (Tomorrow’s Golf League) was a success, such a success that starting Dec. 28, Season 2 will get underway.

Atlanta Drive Club will look to defend the inaugural title, but with a new season comes new challenges, new technology and new faces.

In October this year, SoFi, host of every TGL matchup, announced several new enhancements to their TGL facilities, most notably a 38% increase to the GreenZone. TGL’s putting surface now spans a monster 5,270 square feet, which is roughly the average size of a green on the PGA Tour.

With so much star power involved in TGL, it’s no wonder why golf fans are looking forward to the second season. Here’s what to know as we approach 2026.

TGL Season 2 key dates

The season begins with a rematch of the championship from Season 1, a showdown between New York Golf Club and the reigning champs, Atlanta Drive Golf Club. That match is set for Dec. 28, at 3 p.m. ET on ABC.

There will be 15 regular season matches in total, with the final match coming on Feb. 9, 2026 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. That will lead us into the postseason, which will take place over the course of three days — March 17, 23, and 24.

How to watch TGL Season 2

While the opening match of TGL Season 2 will air on ABC, all other matches will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.

What other changes did the SoFi Center make for Season 2?

Outside of the increase in space for the putting green, the number of green layouts has been increased as well, from seven to 12. Bunkers around the greens have increased in size by 50% as well.

Furthermore, SoFi Center promises to feature more customized holes, specifically rebranding certain holes for indvidual teams, changing the backdrops and setting for those holes to more closely resemble the team’s namesake.

Finally, the hitting boxes where players teed off and shot into the screens have been enlarged, giving golfers more space to stand on when taking their shots, which could alter angles that golfers take when looking to approach holes.
