Charlie Ho and Michael Brandon shot a record tying 55 yesterday, but they boogeied the first earlier today. Here was Charlie’s second at the fourth as they tried to get it back on track. A tapin birdie there for that team would put him back to 17 under par. How about Chris Goddar up and Jennifer Kupcha? They began the day three shots back. This birdie from off the green at the eighth got them to 16 under par. Live second round coverage of the Grant Thornton is on the way to 13. This is Neil Shipley teaming up with Maya Stark. Going to spin back. Jessica Corder back playing tournament golf for the first time since May of 2023. Playing with Bud Cley. They’ve struggled a bit today, these two. It’s not been a kind format. You can see that run around the turn. See the three formats on the right. Forsome’s alternate shot is the format today as Rose Zang for Burme at 10 gets that one to go. A great angle here. Just how open he is with his body, his feet, his shoulders, and also how open the club face is pointed. Right at the flag. What a shot. made it look easy. For for most pros, that would be a fairly straightforward, easy shot. One you’d be looking to hold. A wonderful technique. Just absolutely textbook right there. That gets them to 17 under par trying to challenge the top of that leaderboard. And you’re standing here fairly flat line. They’re certainly looking to hold it. Bonus when it does go in. He’s had a good year, isn’t he? Chris Garup winning in Scotland. Challenged at the Open the very next week. Flight of lob wedge. He flights the ball as well as anybody on tour. Oh. Oh, almost saw another one go in. What a shot there from Windham. At the 11th, nearly quarter for the birdie. looking to make up for the last hole here. Yeah, does exactly that. Getting his third this par five. All locations in that left bowl. These two also good friends. Live in the same area in Jupiter. And she does. Good birdie there for Jessica and Bud Collie. Can’t wait to be with him next Wednesday night over in Jupiter at the Golf Channel games. Oh, come on now. Got to let him in there. Classics have not been kind the last 10 minutes here. That’s true. Jessica Corder now for birdie. They’re trying to make a little comeback today. This will be for three birdies in a row. There you go, Jessica. There you go. Now they’re worried about it ripping back too much. Yeah. So they get to 15 under three back of the lead to get within one. All right, guys. Leaderboard is really wide open right now, Steve, with the leaders only one under an even par. The two teams leading overnight. Round going today as we welcome in Tom Abbott at 13. This is Michael Kim with the third shot. Rose Zang was over in the coina. Couldn’t quite get it to the green, but it doesn’t matter for Michael Kim. So that provides the team with a birdie. Nice bounce back after the problems there at the 12th. They were in the Lauren Cogland and Andrew Novak teaming up together. This to take the lead at 18 under par. That shows you how quick the Greens are here. running about 13 on the S, maybe a little bit more at the beginning of the day. She’s getting ramped back up again, Morgan. She’s going to start playing a little bit more next year. Yeah, I asked her how she felt being out there yesterday playing. She’s like so much fun. Great format to really test herself and playing alongside her good friend Bud Collie. Way to finish there. Had it going really well today, but then made three bogeies in a row from the 14th. chance to bounce back here. So they’ll have an eagle putt and it’ll be Lydia Co down the hill for Eagle. Go. Chris got her up with the birdie putt from that bowl in the front left up the hill and spot on from Gotup. Well, that’s the way to bounce back, Tom. Yeah. You got your memo, Morgan. Good touch there. It’s almost one that it’s hard to leave short, John. It’s Tom’s favorite thing, too. I don’t know how she does it. I really don’t. But it works. Whatever works. That’s how she does it. Exactly. Knocks it in. Sort of one of the most relaxed people out there. She says, you know, you’re really focused. You’re out on the LPGA tour every week. Is she a relaxed player? I think she’s pretty relaxed as we watch that one go in from off the green from Michael Kim. Nicely done. That’s three birdies in a row when he’s chipped in twice in three holes. Yeah, he’s got it going from around the green. It’s not easy to uh strike it perfectly on these on these fairways, but he’s done well. And Novak hit a tremendous shot to get it to here. Oh, I think Lauren would like to redeem herself after that 14th hole. She wasn’t too happy with that second shot and she’s done exactly that with that putt on 15. Come on. He likes it. Yeah, he should like it. Good chance for a birdie there for Charlie. Now Charlie Hall for the birdie at 15. Great look from Brennan’s nine iron. I don’t think there’s a lot in this. Nice. So birdie at 14, Birdie at 15. Very cool moment for the family there. Cogland out of the bunker at 17. Oh yes, we have seen some wild shots today. An alternate shot, Tom. We have indeed. And some great recovery as well. And Lauren, who struggled there at 14 and has just kind of made it her mission here in the final stretch to redeem herself. She held that one from off the green at 15, does it again at 17. So, Michael Kim, who’s held a couple from off the green today. There’s from the side angle. Fantastic. Lauren had that wonderful season. come a breakout season last year on the LPGA tour, cementing herself as one of the best American players on the LPGA. That is fantastic. Lauren Coglin and Andrew Novak looking down at the rest of the field here at the Grand Thornton Invitational after a 468 in the alternate shot format of Forsomes. That is a stout round of golf.
