A year ago today I got my QuadMAX – as a replacement for my 10 year old GC2 / HMT.

I’ve been loving the upgrade… although arguably, the data I get back is much the same. The QuadMAX has better accuracy than the GC2, however it’s such a small difference that I’d never notice.

The WiFi connection is rock solid, and I’m pleased to say it hasn’t ever dropped connection. The GC2 would frequently drop its Bluetooth connection. I have a retractable simulator room, that changes from garage to sim in a couple of minutes. The single unit setup of the QuadMAX vs the GC2 / HMT saves me a couple of minutes – but again, nothing ground breaking.
The larger hitting area is a big improvement from the GC2, and the touch screen on the QuadMAX offers custom screens so I can concentrate on the data I want – rather than having to wait for the GC2 to flick between ball data and club data.
My GC2 would occasionally have misreads or miss a shot. The QuadMAX hasn’t had any of these issues.

Out on the range, the QuadMAX is better. Again, a single unit to carry and setup… and it can be lined up in seconds using the included alignment stick. The GC2 had to be lined up by eye, so maybe a few degrees out from the target line.

Overall, I’m very pleased with the upgrade…but at the same time, it’s a huge expense for the few small benefits I’ve mentioned above.
Foresight have remained the ‘gold standard’ in camera based launch monitors… but they certainly know how to charge!
