MMA Experts ‘Predict’ Paddy Pimblett vs Justin Gaethje | UFC 324

He could be the next Conor McGregor star. I want that world title. All laugh all you want once and say I’ll never be champ. You gang of mushrooms. Like that kind of a star where the whole world has that weird personality. Yes. Yeah. He has that. Well, he’s very disarming cuz people they see I talked about this in the last pay-per-view. I said I said it’s a very sneaky trick because guys like you look at you the way you carry yourself, the way you that’s a fighter. Like you look at that guy’s a dangerous [ __ ] But when you see Patty, he’s dancing like this. His hair is flopping around like he’s in the Beatles, you know? He’s like, he seems silly, but then he [ __ ] people up. Ilio or Patty? I mean, the fight not happening. It’s Justin or Patty now. He got Patty got to get past Justin. Justin a tough fight, bro. I don’t know. A lot of people sleeping on Dustin. Justin on the Patty fight, which just makes me ridiculous. Versus Patty. Oh, I’m leaning towards Gachi for sure. I think absolutely absolutely. I mean, just, you know, Gachi is he’s still a banger, man. And and at some like Patty’s crafty. Patty’s really crafty and he’s shown that he that he can withstand certain things and he can hang around with certain guys. But I just think, you know, when when Justin Gate gets rolling downhill and the amount of violence and he’s able to catch up to people like you can you can try to be crafty as crafty as you possibly can with Justin Gatey, but eventually he’s going to catch up to you and you got to stand up and fight him. Max Holloway was able to do that. Like Max Holloway was, you know, he was actually, you know, he was obviously doing very well, but then when he was when he sat down on his punches, I mean, we saw what happened. So, and I I’m not sure that Patty Pim has the ability to do that. And I’m and I’m pretty sure Patty Pimlet can’t take Gachi down. So, um, I’m leaning towards Gachi, in fact, pretty heavily, actually. But I’m leaning Gachi here. I I don’t think he’s done. I don’t think his chin’s gone. Um, I know Gachi’s been submitted before. Typically, that’s how Patty wins a lot of his fights. He’s got 11 wins by submission. But if you look at it there, you know, Gachi’s not a guy like the last guy to choke him out was Hhabib. And Hhabib, in my opinion, is one of the best ever. So, um, I don’t like I’m not worried about Gachi’s ground game in this fight. Uh, like I said, he’s got an iron chin. And Gachi hits like a truck. And, you know, the thing is, unlike Michael Chandler, Gachi can go toe-to-toe with Patty and probably have some success as far as the striking goes. So, I could see Gachi either knocking Patty out or at least winning if he keeps this fight on the feet. But I do like Gachi in the spot. It’s five rounds. I think that also favors Gachi a little bit. I’m not too worried about the age. Like again, I didn’t think he looked like he was on the decline against phys. So at this very moment, I am leaning uh towards Justin Gate in this fight to get it done whether it’s by knockout or maybe a decision in this one, but I am favoring Gate said if and I’m sure he will take it very seriously and he will come in shape. I know he’s a little older obviously 37 years old, but like stylistically, how do you see the fight going? I mean, Justin sometimes he fights so good, sometimes so bad. Hopefully, uh, he’s going to overshrike him on the feet on the with his boxing and kicks and then, uh, Patty going to try to, uh, wrestle him and he’s going to defend his wrestling and, uh, uh, win by by decision by we win by decision. Uh, Gi. Mhm. Now that this matchup is getting real, everyone wants to hear what the UFC experts think about Patty Pimpblelet fighting Justin Gai. The predictions started coming in fast because this fight feels wild. Some experts look at Patty’s improvements. Others look at Justin’s experience and the mix of opinions has fans talking nonstop. Change not get it and then just sort of come up and get behind one of the elbows. You’re in on the body lock and now it’s it’s a problem cuz then he could just force him. He can either cassotto hook, trip him out, force him to his hands. So, I would imagine Patty might be it’s going to be close. I think in the odds I I don’t want to say what the odds would be because that’s really not my forte in any kind of way, but I would imagine that the odds are probably going to be kind of close. I would think that that’s a good shot chance for Patty to win, but with real risks about his defensive striking along the way. Yeah. Um, and really obviously as we all could understand a last harrah certainly for Justin Gachi. Arman Serukian felt like Justin would come into this fight hungry and locked in. He said Justin is not the type to mess around when things get serious. He expects Justin to stay disciplined, train hard, and treat this matchup like one of the most important fights he has ever had. He also said he wants Justin to win. Armen even said he would help Justin if he ever needed it. For him, Justin winning makes sense at this stage of his career. He sees Justin as the one who has earned these big moments through tough fights and years of work. I hope Justin Gi not going to drink, party, going to train, dedicate himself, be focused. It’s his last chance in this life. He’s fighting like he was fighting for the title maybe five times. So this is his chance and the end of his career. win the interim title, fight for the real title, and then retire. That’s the best for him. And I’m gonna Justin, if you need the help, let me know. I’ll fly I’ll fly to you and help you. He said Justin has nights where he looks amazing and nights where he looks off, but he hopes Justin shows up sharp. He believes Justin can outstrike Patty with his boxing and leg kicks. He also expects Patty to try wrestling once he feels the pressure on the feet. Armen thinks Justin can defend the takedowns and keep the fight standing long enough to win on the scorecards. Said if and I’m sure he will take it very seriously and he will come in shape. I know he’s a little older obviously 37 years old but like stylistically how do you see the fight going? I mean Justin sometimes he fights so good, sometimes so bad. Hopefully uh he’s going to overshrike him on the feet on the with his boxing and kicks and then uh Patty going to try to uh wrestle him and he’s going to defend his wrestling and u uh win by by decision by win by decision uh gauging. Mhm. James Lynch said he still sees Justin as a top fighter because the wins over Fizzy have showed Justin can still hang with the best. The loss to Holloway did not change his opinion because Justin took damage early in that fight. James said Justin is still dangerous, still sharp, and still a contender. When he talked about Patty, he gave him credit for his run. The win over Michael Chandler impressed him as well as the fast win over Bobby Green. And that Patty has been doing his job when it matters. For him, Patty is getting better. But the real test is seeing if Patty can handle someone as proven as Justin. I, you know, was debating with someone in the comments about this. I think the wins over Phys are good. I know he’s fought him twice and the second fight especially was short notice, not the same as the first fight, but I think it shows that Gatei is still a contender in this weight class. Yes, he lost to Holloway, but if you remember in that fight, I believe he got his nose broken fairly early in that one. Um, still a very good entertaining fight. I think Gachi’s right there. Now, the big question is, is Patty there? It’s tough to say, but I will give Patty his credit. That win over Michael Chandler was outstanding. That was a dominant win, dominant performance. He followed there previously to that. You got a really quick win over Bobby Green or King Green now as he goes by there as well. For his final prediction, he leaned towards Justin as he hits very hard and can strike with Patty for long stretches. He also said Justin has an iron chin and is used to tough wars. He brought up that Justin only gets submitted by the very best and that Patty will have trouble finding the same openings, so he felt safer picking Justin in the striking exchanges. The extra rounds also help Justin because he has been through that pace many times. I like I said, I’ll do a full breakdown on this later, but I’m leaning Gatei here. I I don’t think he’s done. I don’t think his chin’s gone. Um I know Gachi’s been submitted before. Typically, that’s how Patty wins a lot of his fights. He’s got 11 wins by submission, but if you look at it there, you know, Gachi’s not a guy like the last guy to choke him out was Habib, and Hhabib, in my opinion, is one of the best ever. So, um I don’t like I’m not worried about Gachi’s ground game in this fight. Uh, like I said, he’s got an iron chin and Gachi hits like a truck. And you know, the thing is, unlike Michael Chandler, Gachi can go toe-to-toe with Patty and probably have some success as far as the striking goes. So, I could see Gachi either knocking Patty out or at least winning if he keeps this fight on the feet, but I do like Gachi in the spot. It’s five rounds. I think that also favors Gachi a little bit. I’m not too worried about the age. Like again, I didn’t think he looked like he was on the decline against Phys. So, at this very moment, I am leaning uh towards Justin Gate in this fight to get it done, whether it’s by knockout or maybe a decision in this one, but I am favoring Gate. Wade Plemens from the WDE Concept looked at this fight and said it is a tough call because both guys have different strengths. He also said Patty is younger and undefeated in the UFC, which gives him momentum. Patty has been beating opponents in front of him like Michael Chandler, Bobby Green, and Tony Ferguson. even though he hasn’t faced top five fighters before, Wade felt that his growth and consistency could make this fight close. And then you have Patty Pimplet, who I’ll be honest, yes, I did want to see fight Ilia Tobora because they have the rivalry, because it goes back for so long, because I think it would be a fun build to a fight. But when you look at Patty’s record, you have him beating Gordon, old man Tony Ferguson, old man Bobby Green, and then Michael Chandler. You fight who’s in front of you. So, I guess you can’t really blame Patty for that, but it’s like, how does that offer you a number one contenders fight without fighting someone in the top five ever, you know, until this moment? He’s seven and0 in the UFC, but he hasn’t fought anyone in the top five to even get to the title shot. Again, interim, I know, but I’m just that doesn’t make sense. In terms of prediction, Wade thought Justin’s experience and bigname wins made him the safer pick. Still, he admitted Patty has the potential to surprise. He said the fight might come down to whether Justin can use his experience to control the pace or if Patty can pressure him and use his youth and momentum to win. And the last big win that Justin Gatei had was in 2023 over Dustin Porier. You had the loss to Max Holloway. You had the two wins versus Fizv. You have the loss to Olivivera. So really your big wins are Fizv, Porier, and Chandler. guy that’s retired, Chandler who’s no longer at top of the division, and Vizv that’s kind of holding water at like the mid part of the rankings. And again, you want to talk about activity, Gachi has one fight in 2025, one fight in 2024. It’s not like he has been super active. And probably the guy that doesn’t deserve it more is Patty. I have to say it’s probably Patty. Gachi has the better wins, but he’s older. Patty is undefeated in the UFC. Den Thomas said he is leaning strongly toward Justin Gathe in this fight. He explained that Justin is still very dangerous and hits hard and that no matter how crafty Patty is, Justin will eventually catch up to him. Den thinks Patty might struggle to deal with Justin’s power and speed, especially over five rounds versus Patty. Oh, I’m leaning towards Gachi for sure. I think absolutely. Absolutely. I mean, just you know, Gachi is he’s still a banger, man. And and it’s some like Patty’s crafty. Patty’s really crafty and he’s shown that he that he can withstand certain things and he can hang around with certain guys, but I just think, you know, when when Justin Gatey gets rolling downhill and the amount of violence and he’s able to catch up to people, like you can you can try to be crafty as crafty as you possibly can with Justin Gatey, but eventually he’s going to catch up to you and you got to stand up and fight him. Max Holloway was able to do that. like Max Holiday was, you know, he was actually, you know, he was obviously doing very well, but then when he was when he sat down on his punches, I mean, we saw what happened. So, and I I’m not sure that Patty Pim has the ability to do that. And I’m and I’m pretty sure Patty Pimlet can’t take Gachi down. So, um, I’m leaning towards Gachi, in fact, pretty heavily, actually. He also said he doesn’t see Patty being able to take Justin down easily. Justin’s movement and ability to be violent in exchanges make it hard for anyone to control him on the ground. Den thinks this will force Patty to make mistakes and he is not sure Patty can handle the punishment Justin can give. Yeah, I haven’t thought about it too much, but over five rounds, it is an interesting fight. I mean, we’ll we’ll see if Patty can get Gachi, he can get on top of him. We saw how violent he was against Michael Chandler, so that would be interesting. But yeah, the task is getting Justin to his back first because he’s not easy to take down either. No. And and we’ve seen him he’s moving Justin Gates is moving better, but when he wants to really sit down and be violent, he can. And I think that’s going to present problems for Patty. It’s going to force Patty to make some mistakes and I’m not sure he’s going to be able to take the amount of punishment that Justin Gates is able to dish out. Luke Thomas broke down the fight and said it’s really a matchup of striker versus grappler. Justin hits very hard and is very precise, while Patty often keeps his chin high, which makes him easier to catch. Luke pointed out that Justin only needs one clean shot to put Patty in serious trouble. On the other hand, Patty has a skill Justin struggles with, taking the back. If Patty gets behind Justin, whether through a body lock or controlling his elbows, he can climb onto his back. And once he’s there, he’s very difficult to remove. You would think that exactly goes Gatei on the feet and Patty on the ground. So, let’s talk about the fight itself. It’s a great question. There’s just no doubt in my mind bit of a striker versus grappler. Patty can strike for sure, but he leaves his chin in the air. It’s a real tough test for Patty, but the problem is we all know Gachi has just of course he’s got good defensive wrestling, but as you saw with with Hhabib, if you just force him to his hands or there’s different ways to get to his back, once you do that, it’s, you know, it’s it’s a problem. He’s he’s you he seems like a fish out of water at this point. So Patty who is a back specialist both in obtaining it and then maintaining position that’s very advant advantageous at the same time you know he’s got a little bit of that going on and I think a guy like Gachi can still send his chin into orbit so very much a striker versus grappler but it just feels like Patty is big for the weight class and all he really has to do is clinch and then get behind the elbows and then that’s what he can do. All he has to do is level. Luke added that the fight could be close on paper. Patty is big for the weight class and only needs a strong clinch to take Justin down. But Justin has the power to change the fight instantly with one clean strike. Luke also said this matchup feels like Justin’s last big run in the UFC. And Patty’s best chance to show he belongs at the top. He described it as a true test for both fighters. Change, not get it, and then just sort of come up and get behind one of the elbows. You’re in on the body lock. And now it’s it’s a problem because then he could just force him. Yeah. Um, and really obviously as we all could understand, a last harrah certainly for Justin Gatechi. Paul Felder said, “This fight makes perfect sense because Patty brings huge attention and Justin always brings chaos. Felder thinks Justin is one of the most dangerous guys in the whole division. So beating him is a massive challenge.” He also said Patty still has room to grow and people have not seen his full level yet, which makes this matchup interesting because it will show exactly where Patty stands. views. Patty Pimlet is who he is and is gonna draw crazy eyeballs. And anytime you stick Justin Gatey in a goddamn octagon, you’re gonna get craziness. You’re going to get an unbelievable fight. It makes sense to me. It really does. I just I do feel for poor Arman Sukian who’s so [ __ ] good and probably really the truest test for Ilia in the whole division. Not that Gachi, not that Patty can’t pull it off. Felder’s prediction is that if Patty beats Justin, everything changes for him. It would prove he is not just hype and that he can beat someone who has power, experience, and real danger in every exchange. Felder sees this fight as the moment that decides Patty’s future because Justin is the type of fighter who exposes anyone who is not ready. Patty, I still think, has a ceiling that we really haven’t seen fully touched yet. I think he’s got a lot of room to show us. If he beats Justin Gatechi, you can’t say [ __ ] about this kid anymore. You know what I mean? Like he’s got an opportunity to really show. Even though Gachi’s been around a long time, he’s one of the most violent, dangerous guys in the whole lightweight division. And if he beats him, Shawn Ali said he is leaning toward Patty in this matchup. He pointed out that Justin gets caught with left hooks sometimes, even though he looked amazing in the Chandler fight. Omali believes Patty has more than one way to win and that his style gives him real opportunities if he can find the right openings. Ali also talked about Justin’s power, reminding everyone that Justin knocked out Dustin with a headkick not long ago. He said that win was impressive, but he still feels Patty can pull something off if he stays sharp. For Ali, the fight comes down to Patty’s creativity and Justin’s power, and he thinks Patty might surprise people. I don’t know, dude. kind of leaning towards Patty. But the way he does get hit with left hooks, he looks so good against Michael Chandler. Uh Patty’s got a lot of ways to win. He’s a scowza. He’s a scowza. Scowzers, don’t get knocked out, you mushroom. He KO’ed He KO’ed Dustin with a headkick, too, the fight before before the Max all the way one, which is pretty impressive. Some experts think Justin’s power, experience, and non-stop pressure might be too much for Patty. Others feel Patty’s movement, timing, and overall skill give him a real shot to pull off the win. It’s one of those fights where anything can happen, and both guys bring something exciting when they step into the cage. This fight looks like it’s going to be fast, intense, and possibly end before the final bell. Let us know in the comments who you’re picking. Are you going with Justin’s experience and power or Patty’s sharp skills and smart game
