Good day, lads. The PJ tour actually is playing against the LPJ tour in a 2v2 match. It is going to be alternate shot. We’re here on a Tuesday playing the Grand Ton Invitational just prepping for the tournament. So, these guys were nice enough to come out and and spend some time with us. She just makes sense on the north side. The north shore. Yeah. So, I was like, “This is the perfect year to do it. We’ll be down there since they’re not having the the Sentry.” Sentry. We don’t have to go to Maui. We can just stay on island. And how how many weeks will you go before? You just as one week there and Well, we’ll be there for two weeks. Do you practice any before? Yeah. Yeah. I’ll be over at Turtle Bay practicing. It’s a nice spot because they have like an it’s it’s pretty like exclusive as far as like not a lot. It’s from the clubhouse to like where you go practice is actually like a 15-minute cart drive. So, it kind of ends up being really nice. Nobody’s out there. Um, that’s phenomenal. Yeah, it’s great. Are you gonna do anything this off season? Fun stuff. Uh, I’m going home uh to New Zealand um for Christmas. Oh, nice. Which is nice. Yeah, it is nice. What’s Christmas like in It’s actually opposite season, so it’s hot like like Australia. Yes. Yeah. I always tell them like Christmas being warm. Yeah. It’s It’s almost odd. Yeah. All right. Last year you played. How do you feel like you played last year? Yeah, it was it was my it was my worst season of my PJ tour career, which uh but it’s always you can always learn. That’s the great that’s the great thing. It’s like it doesn’t matter. I didn’t I know I didn’t play my best, but it’s like, okay, what do I got to do to be better to play better, all the things, you know, I obviously was dealing with a knee in I had knee surgery this time last year. Yeah. And then, you know, I had ankle issues and so, but even outside of that, it’s like, you know, what are what are some areas you can get better? So, it it was not the season I anticipated, but it also helps you reflect and just say, “Okay, when I was playing better, how can I adapt to that, but even be a better version of that?” You know what I mean? Cuz I don’t believe in a such thing as like I I hope I I wish I can hit it like how I used to or I wish I had the speed that I used to. It’s like you got to reinvent yourself as you age. It’s not You can’t just keep thinking that it’s like I want to go back to something. It’s like no, I can be better than that. You know, it’s so hard. It’s so hard to have this trajectory, you know what I mean? There has to be a little bit of this, but as long as like over time it’ll just slowly go, you know what I mean? Like, so it’s it is difficult. Um, it’s hard to be like a Scotty or a or a Rory. Rocket and that’s there’s a small percentage and everyone’s different. We got to learn our own things and learn how to do things separately. So, like I mean I don’t Yeah, I know that you said it’s like been your worst year, but like it’s been more of a learning year and I think you’re getting smarter from it and it will only help you in the future, which is great. Obviously, I know how good of a you’re obviously a former number one player in the world. You’ve won two major championships. You’ve had an amazing year. 2023 was your breakout year. Yeah. Um that was an insane year, was that? Yeah. Same year. Two two majors in the same year. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. That was it was so much fun. I mean, did you expect to have that much success that that early? No, I think I just like I knew like coming out of the gate when I first turned pro, coming out of college, I had so much pressure on myself and played so bad that year. 2019 was my rookie season and then, you know, just put a little bit of pressure on yourself. Yeah, everyone I think every rookie does that. I only made like one cut that year out of all the tournaments we played. I lost my card. I went back to then it was the Symmetra tour, right, which is now the Epson tour. And you know, COVID hit. So then we were all kind of like in a standstill. I was playing so bad on Epson Tour. I think I was like almost DFL. No way. Yeah. And then, you know, somehow I like kind of changed my mindset and wanted I was thinking how I played so well in college. What was the difference? It’s because I had like a team environment. Yeah. And so somehow I decided, okay, let’s try and recreate my own team, have fun, and just have a blast. And slowly like the pieces came together. Um, Caddy came along, coach came along, trainer, like just putting everything together and everyone fell into place. Yeah. And that was towards the end of 2022. That was when I was like looking for different parts and pieces and physios. I didn’t even know people had physios on tour. Like I was so like I didn’t look at the big picture. I wasn’t looking at other players. I was just kind of in my own world like basically like every shot was life or death, right? And then um yeah, the pieces came together and then solid solidified everybody at the end of 2022. Had a great off season. Yeah. Okay. And then I just went like catapulted. Like I gained like 10 yards of distance. Like everything was just like clicking. Clicking. Have you done much YouTube stuff? I have. Um, we did it as a family page for a couple tournaments. Oh, fun. And that was cool, but it was a lot of work. So, we were like, let’s revisit this like another time. Yeah. Yeah. And then, yeah, I just, you know, some guys have asked me to do some of their stuff. You know, I’ve played a match with Grant Horvit. Oh, yes. Oh, didn’t you like Bob does sports? Yeah. Beat him quite bad. Well, he’s at he’s at Yeah, he’s at quite a disadvantage. Yes. Yeah, playing on their course. Yeah, same cheese five shot. But um yeah, it’s fun. Like it’s such a cool You’re It’s a different type of pressure though. Like it’s not like normal golf, you know? It’s like, you know, a little bit more intensified, but it’s good for you, you know, cuz you know, like you’re you’re the center of attention that moment. What about you? Have you I’ve only done one with Taco and Luke on their channels. Um but I was so nervous. I I was telling Lily I like towed it off the first and I never intentionally hit a draw and it was going so far left. Yeah, but it is fun. Yeah, it’s fun. It’s good. Well, that’s the cool thing about this tournament, isn’t it? I mean, it’s so fun to play with you guys because we don’t get a chance. We watch and we play with a lot of the same guys every week. And you know, it’s obviously great, but this tournament is so cool in a lot of different ways, but we get to play with you guys. Yes. Yeah. Are you teaming off? No, I don’t know who. Yeah, it’s like I I would actually, you know, te it down kind of like almost as low as yours. Sometimes I would actually I used to be able to. My angle of attack’s a little different now. A little up now. Yeah. So, I can’t see it that low, but um it’s usually just like a bullet fade. Yeah. It’s just the easiest. I like being able to go down into it a little bit more, get a little steeper and let it slide. Even if it gets spinny on me, the spinny one doesn’t get me in trouble. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. In like a, you know, high pressure situation. The spinny one’s not going to get me in trouble. It’s like the fast left one. Yes. And so, I like being able to hit hit a nice little bleeder. Yeah. I won early in the year and July I made a joke to my husband that he made more money than me cuz I just I was like cut after cut. Um but yeah, after that I played a little better in Canada and I think I got some good momentum back. I did I feel like this was a year where I learned a lot on the golf course. Yeah. Um what you what what did you learn? Like I was kind of like I tried different things like if I did wasn’t playing well instead of going okay I’ll wait till the end of this round and I’ll try and figure it out on the range I’d be like okay let’s try left shoulder clearing out or hands higher etc. So I felt like I was able to kind of get um better feedback that way. Uh so in the sense of like yeah I won which was great which was kind of my goal this year to win at least once after a year like last year. Um, but it was just I felt like I I had little wins. Um, and I feel really good with the equipment that I have now. So, kind of just make that more uh like mine um and be more comfortable with it. But yeah, it’s been it’s been good. Been a good year.
