BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Two former league players of the year enjoyed standout seasons at the highest levels of professional golf in 2025.  Jesper Svensson produced a solid rookie campaign on the PGA TOUR, while Pontus Nyholm earned his TOUR card while competing on the Korn Ferry Tour.
 
A 2019 graduate, Svensson made 19 of 26 cuts during his initial PGA TOUR season and earned $1.3 million in prize money.  He made the cut at The Players Championship as well as The Open Championship, where he finished T16.
 
Svensson produced six top-25 finishes, including a T10 at the Sony Open in Hawaii.  He currently stands No. 140 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
 
The 2017 and 2019 Big South Conference golfer of the year, Svensson won four tournaments during his Campbell career that spanned 2015-19.  He finished 14-under-par (67-66-69—202) to win the 2017 league title at The Patriot GC and break the conference record of 204 set by eventual World No. 1 Dustin Johnson of Coastal Carolina.
 
A native of Uppsala, Sweden, Svensson turned pro in the summer of 2019 after competing in four NCAA regional championships for Coach John Crooks’ team.  He competed in a pair of majors in 2024 – the PGA Championship and The Open Championship while also earning DP World Tour rookie of the year honors.
 
Nyholm made 22 of 26 cuts and made $371,817 during the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour season.  He finished 20th on the KFT points list to earn his 2026 PGA TOUR card.
 
A 2021 Campbell graduate, Nyholm collected eight top 25 finishes, including his first Korn Ferry Tour win at the Visit Knoxville Open.  The native of Gavle, Sweden rates No. 258 in the latest Official World Golf Ranking.
 
During his career at Campbell (2017-21), Nyholm earned four individual victories and broke the school record for career scoring average (71.17). One of his four collegiate victories came on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf Resort (2019 Intercollegiate at Innisbrook), host of the PGA TOUR’s Valspar Championship.  He was named the 2021 Big South golfer of the year.
 
Nyholm finished in the top 75 on the Korn Ferry Tour points list in each of his three previous seasons, including a No. 40 finish in 2024.  After joining the Korn Ferry Tour in 2022, he made 67 of 102 cuts and produced seven top-10 finishes.  He also finished as runner-up at the 2022 Veritex Bank Championship, where he shot 62 in the final round.
