Welcome to match number two here in Turkey. Rick versus Pete. And tonight we’re playing night golf. That’s what we’re talking about. You prodded me a lot so far. How the game twists and turns. Just what we do. An actual fist pump. Let me out. This boogie. You might be stood in the water. Oh my god. almost within. How many classic matches have we had that does that’s done this chances? Oh, okay. Here we go. This is going to be match number two in this epic week of filming here in Turkey with Mr. Finch. By the way, big shout out to Golf Breaks uh for setting this up. Been awesome so far. Don’t want to spoil the first result on Pete’s channel, but check it out and then we’ll do a recap after this match. Tonight we are going to an old stomping ground carrier which is one of the best golf courses here in Bellac. And to make it even better, we’re playing it at night. Bit of night golf for the boys. And I think I think out of every night golf course that I’ve played isn’t a massive sample size adittly, but I think it’s the best. I I I don’t think I’ve seen one anywhere else in the world which is better just because we said the very first time we were here the the darkness of the skies around here anyway because it’s not near a major city is really kind of pristine. Yeah, there’s no light pollution. Yeah, unlike this van. We’re getting there a little bit early. Our tea time’s 6:45. It’s currently 5:15. We’re going to be there in 10 minutes. We need a bit of a grind. Hitting balls. Ready to go. Excited for another match. I do. Oh, it’s nice to be home. By the way, the pro shop is insane. It’s huge, isn’t it? What about a little 2,000 euro driver? I can slice that. Today, I actually just put on Instagram today. I’ve actually been 500 days sober. 500 days not having a single drop of alcohol. It’s wild. And I’ve been I’ve been 300 days eating zero food. So, which one makes more difference? I’ve been two days without alcohol. Two minutes to find the weirdest product in the shop. The weirdest product. Ready? And then we have to come back here. There’s a there’s a coffin here. A few moments later. This is a golf themed handbag. I actually I I already think you’ve won. It’s 90. I found a golf ball. Candle. Candle. What’s it smell like? Pinnacle Golds. I think as soon as you picked it up, I was like, you’ve won. Right, let’s get going. It’s nice to walk down memory lane. But it’s time for the proper match. Game two in the Turkey series. Got I’ve got a habit. You might have heard it. I’ve got a habit of messing with my pitchfork. This pitchfork has been with me a long time from when I played Augugusta and I think I’ve just broke it in my pocket. I have I’m absolute you can’t honestly I’m devastated. I am trying to like I’m trying to lighten the mood a little bit but I can’t understand how I’m devastated. Look at look at the wear on it. Look at that. That is wear and tear. Hopefully it’s not a thing a sign of things to come tonight. Uh best score ever. 62. 62. Yeah. Best score. I’m just going to We’re just going to beat it. 61’s today. You know what? I can tell when someone fake laughs. Yeah, that was a good fake laugh. It was good. You know what the best thing about it was? Like he threw his head back ever so slightly. Yeah. Which you you That’s cuz he’s hiding the pain inside. Of course. Sorry about that, Pete. Wow. Wow. They said I said Pete’s in the boogie. They went who? He He Pete. Peter. I said Fincher. No. Five and four. I was willing I was willing to see out the entire course tonight. So, I thought I’m going to enjoy it. Not anymore. Not anymore. Right. Come up, pal. Mate, I didn’t know what you’re going for there. Do you want to do that again? I didn’t know. No, I was confused, but we I think we’ve nailed it. It’s because you went such a high elbow. Okay, that’s fine. Don’t bring attention to it. Seven years ago, not to the date, but not far off. Me and Pete were in Turkey and today we’re back for another epic jewel here at Carry Golf Club. Honestly, th this golf course already is sensational in the daylight. When those flood lights come on, it is a different animal. Now, if you’ve been following the series, you know we’ve had one match already. Match number two. Yeah, if you’ve not seen it already, check it out now. If you want to cut away for spoilers, three, two, one, one, which is disgusting, but hey, it happens. And by the way, it’s one point for these first two matches. So, Rick is one point up. T flip. Yeah. On you, sir. All right. Play well. Enjoy. Power four. Kicking things off. This course is like just a good course anyway, but add night golf into it, you’re like, “Wow.” So, I’m just going to hit a peeling fade off the left hand side of the fairway straight at those pines in the background. Oh, I’ve towed it. Simmer down. Sim down. That’s going to be past the trouble. Damn. Towed it. Oh, man. Okay. Big stick. Similar to what Pete said. Well, we’re in the same boogie. Keep going left. I think that’s fine. I think we’re both left enough to miss the bunkers, though. Yeah, I think that’s fine. Not our perfect golf shot, but they’re down there. Right. This is a Here we go again. I was fumbling me words before, but like this course is just really good without flood lights. It is like it’s not a gimmick golf course. 115. 115. Stayed short of the bunker. Pete’s beyond the bunker. And actually, I just had a quick quick peep over there and he’s actually in a good spot. Yeah, pin high just on the green but leaked a little bit right. We’re putting for birdie. Nice start. Nice hit of green. Okay. Managed to get a fair bit of distance down here. Got 83 yards. 83 of the finest yards imaginable. What’s that, mate? Yours are all right there, mate. Yeah, pin eye just a little bit leaky, right? But we’ve got a 15 20 foot birdie put coming up. Whoa. Where did that ball sound like it came from behind us? No, that was a that was my divot. I think there’s a massive thud behind us like flew out there like a rat, mate. Couple of big chances in the first. Look at us being golfers. First time using my peg leg pitchfork. Two birdie ports. I’m just straight up the hill. Not a lot of break. Let’s kick things. Let’s kick this party off with a bird. It’s a good putt. Yeah, it’s a weird sound off the face then. Take it away. Okay, in for power. The running theory is when it’s a bit wet, they don’t break as much. So, I’m going to test that out. Need to go one up. How good does this look, by the way? Looks so so good. They are quicker than this morning. I can’t say anything, can I? I mean, that’s just Do you know what I mean? It’s not inside a broomandle. Put that. Wow. Jeez. It caught enough. It caught enough. You can choose your side or you can go with a bit of power straight over the middle. I think I’m going to go straight over the middle and then just let golf go do what it’s going to do. But what I’m actually thinking is if I go up this left wing here and like hit a like a low cut, I think that’s probably more likely, but not actually much less risk. Or I play like a massive hook. So this could be good or it could end up back in Antalia. It just popped up. If you ain’t a hybrid, a hybrid is designed to launch, but oh man, that would have curbed. Oh yeah, mine honestly managed to get through absolutely everything. It’s in the bunker. I’m shocked. Totally shocked. Well, up and down for a par. Got an eight. Just in between clubs again, but be good again. If you make four, that’s going to be ridiculous. Yeah. Very nice. Very nice. Like, isn’t it the most golfy thing ever? Like, honestly, this morning I literally could not hit the ball with my irons. And now driver. Love it. Grave golf 133 in the bunker. I could have just done a minute clipping one branch and finishing short. But the fact you managed to miss all of them is actually it’s incredible. Genuinely impressive. Right. I don’t know if he stayed on that down slope. Maybe that’d be a tricky one. But how the game twists and turns. That this would be a wild match play moment. It really would. I’ve managed to avoid everything and I missed the green in three in two. Sorry. I’ve I’ve hit seven trees or so. Yeah. I’ve got a chance for a P. Well, there’s one tree less now. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Just want to apologize to the green keepers here at carry. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Wow. Yeah, golf’s just horrible, isn’t it? Isn’t it golf? Just like it’s a weird game, is it? I’ve got to get this up and down for a half. The table’s turned quickly. It’s pretty good. I was so expecting that speaker to go off in my back swing there. The fact it stayed silent, I was quite happy. Three puts I’ve pulled in a row. that I mean that seems to go left as well. No, but not that much. That’s three ports I’ve pulled pretty badly in a row there. Wow. Wow. This will be an incredible win on this hole. That is a fantastic four. You know what? You’ll need a new golf ball, but fantastic four. I just want to say thank you. That was a great Thank you everybody. Wow. I think it’s this magic orange actually. Is it cuz that’s an origin? Yeah. How perfect is that? Like even the leaves are like displayed in like a perfect way. Just like the mas the mascot of the day. Well, I thought lemons when we went up, but I mean I’m a bit color blind. That looks orange to me. It’s orange. Yeah. From memory, driver can get you in a little bit of trouble here. I mean judging on the last few years, driver can get you in trouble anyway. God, is it an iron? I’ve got three iron and a three wood. Your honor, I’m going to let you choose first. Thank you. That That was a big blow that hole. Last two. Big. I know. Last. I dropped 300 to clear that bunker and I just I can’t quite remember if it’s worth it. So if in doubt on a night golf course is it where you can see it. Yeah. Perfecto. Thank you. My I mean I think you could go a bit further if you wanted to. Well I just think you are quite a bit I I I love the fact I’ve definitely hit fairway with your iron, but I’ll be a bit further back. So I’m going to try and hit threewood. Just go straight at it. Get lucky. Think it’s dropped straight down. I think I heard something and someone just dropped straight down. Might be an acorn, but a Ricky never quite made your mind up on that. No, no, I didn’t. And I should I should have stuck with three. Hit it where you can see it like you say. Found it. Right side. It’s like hard to commit to. It’s a It’s a nasty little pin tucked on this shelf. I get a bit disorientated with night golf. I kind of like I forget what I’m doing and like you’ve got to stand in different spots. Well, it’s cuz you cast six shadows. You cast shadows everywhere. You cast literally four shadows every put. You’re still two up. Two different ways of making fours when it’s two fours on the card. I always remember this hole being really unique. Kind of got lay back a bit. Water, isn’t it? Like down the left. Part four. Water protecting the green. You kind of want to go left of the the big tree, but left enough of the big tree so you don’t get blocked out by it from memory. Yeah, I think I think if you can you can squirt it right at that tree and have a line in, but it’s tight. Yeah, you got water as well, aren’t you, down there? You got some of the wet stuff. See the like the marker in the fairway there. I’m just going to go down that. I think four iron leaves me. It should leave me in the gap. Is that where you meant to go? Yeah. That was really good. Yeah. So, I’m I’m almost I’m almost certain that if you go too far left, like those two trees block you out. That was actually really nice. Don’t get confused because I was going to go at the flood light left. No, I still think that’s right. If you’re far enough back on that line, you’ll be able to get over the tree anyway. And bear in mind, this is like this is my memory from or if I’m past that tree. I go three past the tree. Three past the tree, but add that flood light. Uh, yeah, we’re fine. I feel like I’ve not played bad enough to be two down, but Pete’s played a couple of really good holes that got him two up. It’s how this game works. Um, got a chance here though. I’m with I’m about 12 foot away, 10 foot away. Pete’s 15, 17 feet away. So, let’s see if we can uh see if we can flip the switch. How’s that stop breaking? Thought he had that as well. Weirdly, it’s not that difficult of a put this. It’s up the hill and then once it gets to the top of hill, it’s pretty flat. So, as long as I get the speed right, I can’t see how I’d miss it. I used to think this is quite big dog leg, but it’s just straight down there, isn’t it? Just got to clear this. Make sure we just get it past this big tree here on the left hand side. Settle.
