Paige Spiranac was praised for her behavior in a Barstool Sports video earlier this week.
The popular golf influencer previously took a lot of criticism for her appearance in The Internet Invitational. Fans found her behavior off-putting at times and she was later accused of cheating in the final $1 million round. Spiranac was emotional in response to the cheating accusations, denying she meant to do wrong.
“I haven’t really talked about it because there’s not much to say about it, honestly,” Spiranac said in her response. “I am painfully, painfully embarrassed that I did not know that rule . . . but I would never intentionally cheat. In all my years of playing golf, I have never been accused of cheating.”
“The last week and a half has been probably the worst hate I’ve ever received in the 10 years of me doing this, I’m talking tens of thousands of death threats, people telling me to kill myself, the most vile, horrendous stuff you could ever say to an individual, that’s been in my DMs,” Spiranac added. “I mean, to the point where we were discussing me having to potentially get a restraining order. I mean, it’s like serious stuff.”

Spiranac, who has 7 million followers on Instagram, admitted that things had not been easy.
“It hasn’t been easy,” Spiranac added. “And I know people were wondering why I haven’t posted or why I haven’t talked about it. I just needed to remove myself for my mental health. . . . Luckily, having a good support system and family around and just trying to stay distracted.”
Spiranac appeared in a new Barstool Sports video
While Spiranac was criticized by some for her appearance in The Internet Invitational, she was later praised for her appearance in a new video, featuring the Spittin Chiclets guys.
Spiranac appeared in a scramble video with the former NHL players.
“All time video,” Spiranac said.
Fans are loving it.
“I’m actually crying laughing watching this!” one fan wrote.
“Great episode. You and Biz make a good team lol,” one fan added.
“Nice! Need to get you out to play Royal Oaks, or Fields Ranch. We play year round down here in Texas,” one fan added.
“I saw the game and it was fantastic. I won’t spoil the ending but it was a lot of fun. I love hockey humour!” one fan added.
It’s good to see her back on the course, having fun.
