Kai Trump, an 18-year-old golfer, will return to the spotlight later this month.

A month ago, Trump made her LPGA debut at The Annika in Florida. There were plenty of golf fans complaining about her eligibility heading into the event. Those complaints only grew louder after she shot a 13-over 83 in the opening round. Although she improved her performance by eight strokes in the second round, she finished last on the leaderboard.

Trump ultimately missed the cut by 17 strokes. She refused to let that break her confidence though.

“I was definitely more nervous than I expected, but I thought I hit a lot of great shots out there,” she said after her opening round. “I hit a lot of good shots just to the wrong spots.”

“Mark your calendars for December 17th. I’ll be on the pre- and post-game shows for the Optum Channel Games,” Trump said. “I’m so excited to be part of this. There’s going be so energy there. It’s Team Rory vs. Team Scottie – it’s going to be a crazy matchup. I cannot wait to see everyone there.”

According to Golfweek, the plan is for Trump to participate in challenge tutorials alongside Johnson Wagner. In theory, this should be another opportunity for her to rise up the ranks in the golf community.
