All I’ve gotta say after this golf ball test is Sam’s club do better especially if you’re trying to come for the Costco Kirkland balls

There’s something seriously wrong with Sam’s Club’s new golf balls. Now, if you didn’t know, Sam’s Club secretly launched their new Makers Mark Pro Series 2 golf ball a couple weeks ago, so I had to grab a Sam’s Club membership and test them out myself. But these are supposed to rival Costco’s Kirkland golf balls. They’re the same three-piece golf ball that’s supposed to perform pretty much the same or if not a little better. So, I wanted to see if this was really the case, especially cuz these golf balls are two dozen for 28 bucks. It was a pretty good deal. I threw it in my sweet spot checker first so we could see the line that I’m going to use to test out. As you can see, the sweet spot line just kind of goes near the logos. Nothing really special about it. But then I threw it in my compression tester to see who’s going to perform best with these golf balls. And it’s going to come up best for people with about 90 to 100 mph swing speed. So, it’s going to be perfect for your average golfer. But then when I started cutting this golf ball is when it got weird. Now, I was having a really hard time cutting through it at the beginning. It was like fighting my cutters. And then finally, when I was able to bite through it, the second half was a little bit easier. And when we take a look inside, we can definitely see why. Now, this golf ball is really uneven with the core being shifted towards the upper half. So, the mantle layer itself is really thick in one area, really thin in another. And then we’ve got that awkward spot in the middle. And that’s likely some kind of manufacturing error. But when I touched it, it was a little bit firmer there than it was in the rest of it. So, my guess is that’s going to mess with your swing a little bit. And I wanted to test another golf ball to see if this is a common error or maybe something that’s just sporadically within the golf balls. I had a lot easier time cutting down the second golf ball. And when we take a look inside, we can see why. It looks like a normal golf ball. It’s still a little bit uneven, but it doesn’t have that awkward spot in the middle. So, overall, Sam’s Club, you got to do some work on these balls. And at least for the minute, I’d recommend staying with the Kirkland balls.

  1. They beat Kirkland in every performance test except yours where you don’t…actually hit it. It’s also “Member’s Mark.” Maker’s Mark is a whiskey which maybe explains your critique
