DURHAM, N.C. – Duke men’s golf head coach Bob Heintz announced the signings of three standout prep golfers to the Blue Devils’ 2026 recruiting class, adding Clark Mason (St. Petersburg, Fla.), Jonathan Weinberg (Boca Raton, Fla.) and Jack Chung (Greenwich, Conn.).

Mason, a two-time team captain at Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg, helped lead the Chargers to a district championship and a pair of regional championship appearances. One of Florida’s most accomplished juniors, he captured the 2025 AJGA Arnold Palmer Invitational Junior title, the 2025 Florida Junior Tour PGA National Open Championship and the 2024 Fort Myers Junior Open. Mason also finished runner-up at the 2025 FJT Tour Championship.

“Clark Mason came to our attention several years ago when he attended a Duke Golf summer camp. We quickly realized that he was highly skilled, and it’s been a pleasure watching his game mature over time,” said Heintz. “Clark enjoyed a breakout year in 2025, highlighted by his dramatic win at Bay Hill this summer. He has plenty of speed, great hands and strong shot-making ability. Clark also possesses an outgoing personality that will positively impact our team and its culture.”

Weinberg signs with the Blue Devils following a decorated career at Pine Crest School in Boca Raton. The 2025 AJGA Scholastic Junior All-American won the 2025 Met Junior Championship, edging his older brother, Alexander, now a freshman on Duke’s roster, for the title last July. Weinberg owns four AJGA top-10 finishes, including a third-place showing at the AJGA KJ Choi event at Fiddler’s Elbow in August 2025. He was the 2025 FHSAA Class 1A District medalist and a 2024 Sun Sentinel First Team All-County selection.

“Jonathan Weinberg is a tough competitor with a steady on-course demeanor,” said Heintz. “His grit was on full display this summer when he eclipsed his older brother on the final hole of the Met Junior, making him the fourth future Blue Devil to win that event in the last seven years, joining previous winners Luke Sample, John Hiller, and Jack Chung.  Jonathan also had a strong high school season, representing Pine Crest in a highly competitive league, posting multiple rounds in the mid-60s along the way. He has great potential, possessing speed and size, so we’re excited to see what he will accomplish in the coming years.”

Chung joins Duke from Brunswick School in Greenwich, where he helped the program win three consecutive Fairchester Athletic Association championships and three straight Western New England Invitational titles. He placed fifth at the 2025 Met Amateur Championship after a breakout 2024 season that included winning the Met Junior Championship, finishing runner-up at the Connecticut Amateur Championship and taking third at the 2024 Met Amateur. He was named the 2024 MGA Junior Player of the Year, becoming the youngest golfer and first 16-year-old to earn the honor. Chung also captured the 2024 AJGA Visit Pullman Junior title.

“Jack Chung knows how to battle. He’s a proven match play competitor as shown by his Met Junior win and his near misses in the Connecticut Am and Met Am,” said Heintz. “He’s an excellent putter and exhibits a quiet confidence on the course. And, like his classmates, he’s got plenty of ‘pop’ off the tee. Jack’s understanding of his game is constantly growing, and we expect his attitude and work ethic to lead to success at Duke.”
