NORMAN – OU women’s golf head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell has been named an assistant coach for Team International at the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday.
A native of Saints-Anges, Quebec, Canada, Drouin-Luttrell will make her Palmer Cup coaching debut next summer, joining the International staff at the prestigious event that brings together the top amateur golfers from around the world. With her selection, Oklahoma becomes one of the few programs to have both its men’s and women’s head coaches serve at the event, as OU men’s head coach Ryan Hybl led the U.S. team to victory in 2018.
“This is such an incredible honor,” Drouin-Luttrell said. “The Arnold Palmer Cup is one of the most respected events in our sport, and having the opportunity to coach some of the best players in the world is truly special. I’m grateful and excited to represent Oklahoma on an international stage.”
The annual Ryder Cup-style competition combines the top men’s and women’s golfers around the world and will be played July 3-5 at Tralee Golf Links in Barrow, Co. Kerry, Ireland.
Since taking over the program in 2009, Drouin-Luttrell has led the Sooners to 10 tournament victories and seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including a home postseason berth in 2025. Her teams have rewritten the OU record book with the 15 lowest single-season scoring averages in program history, while her players have earned six All-America honors and 12 individual wins, highlighted by 2012 NCAA individual national champion Chirapat Jao-Javanil.
“I was honestly speechless when I got the call,” Drouin-Luttrell said. “As a coach, you pour so much into your players and your program, and to be recognized in this way means a great deal. But this opportunity isn’t just about me, it’s a reflection of our players, their belief in what we’re building and the success they’ve made possible.”
The Arnold Palmer Cup, co-founded in 1997 by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America, features the top U.S. men’s and women’s collegiate golfers competing side-by-side against a team of international players. In 2025, the International team won for the first time since 2022, but the United States holds a 17-13-1 all-time series advantage.
The 2026 tournament marks the 30th playing of the Arnold Palmer Cup and the second time it will be hosted at Tralee, the world-renowned links course Palmer helped design along Ireland’s Atlantic coast.
