If you’re new and a short back stroke allows you to hit the ball in a straight line, it’s fine. Play enough and you’ll start figuring it out and you’re swing will improve.

I have a short backswing and in the process of trying to get to full swing. Your accuracy will be great but you lose a lot of distance. I hit 82% of fairways this season but driving average probably only 200-210 so Greens in regulation is really poor. Like 10%.
