If you’re a senior golfer and feel that your distance has dropped off or your shots aren’t flying how they used to, it might not be your swing. It could actually be your golf ball. My Golf Spies recent robot testing actually proved that most senior golfers are playing the wrong ball. And in some cases, it’s costing you 10 to 15 yards and your stopping power into greens. So, in this video, I’m breaking down five golf balls every senior golfer should be playing based on compression, flight, spin, and value. And we’ll even talk about what to avoid. And that leaves me cutting these golf balls open with the help of Jeff to see exactly what’s inside. So stick around to the end and I’ll tell you the number one ball which I think gives you the best all round performance for slower swing speeds. Now you might have heard me say this before, but the golf ball is the most important piece of equipment in your golf bag. It’s the only thing you use on every single shot. And according to my golf spies robot data, there’s actually more difference between changing golf balls than between changing drivers or irons. So, if your swing speed has dropped below 95, at slower swing speeds, you need three things. A lower compression golf ball that actually compresses at impact, higher launch and adequate spin to hold greens, and ideally a softer cover for better feel and control. But before we get into the top five, a quick warning for golfers. If you’re a senior golfer, you should dump balls like the Titus Pro 1X, the Callaway Chrome Triple Diamond, or even the Titus Velocity. Those are great for big hitters or those with really fast swing speeds. But for moderate or slower swings, they launch too low, spin too little, or feel like you’re hitting a rock. So, let’s try these five instead. So, number five on my list of golf balls senior golfers should be playing, we’ve got the Stricksen Soft feel. Now, this is a classic golf ball, and it’s a classic for a reason. With a compression of around 60, an cover, super soft face, it’s got a great mix of soft feel and durability. And my Golf Spies robot data showed it’s actually one of the highest flying and longest soft balls for mid to slow swing speeds. It’s not the spinniest around the greens due to its cover and core, but it’s perfect for keeping the ball in play. And at under $25 a dozen, you can’t go wrong. So, if you struggle to get the ball up in the air, this one helps massively. At number four, the Tailor Made Speed Soft. The Speed Soft is one of my ultimate favorite golf balls of this year, and honestly, it’s a brilliant ball. With a compression of around 50, it’s designed specifically for moderate swing speeds. And robot testing shell is actually longer than most soft balls while still feeling buttery of the face. All around $25 a dozen. And those ink versions, they’re not just cool, they can actually help you see your roll better and strike pattern on the green. So, if you want something that feels premium, looks great, but actually plays well, this is a great pick. At number three, the Wilson Jooft. This might actually be the softest golf ball on the planet with a compression of around 46. It’s so soft it almost feels like you’re hitting a marshmallow, but a marshmallow that goes a very long way. Also, my Golf by Robot data backs this up. It’s not the fastest ball of the driver, but it’s incredibly consistent, forgiving, and great for short game feel. And I find that 360 alignment track really helpful for my putting. Next at number two is the Titus AVX. Now, if you’ve been playing a Prov1 your whole life, this ball could be your next move. The AVX is a lower compression tour ball with a much softer feel and lower penetrating flight, which still gives you great distance and control. In robot testing, it came out longer than a Prov 1 for moderate swing speeds with lower spin off the driver and plenty of stopping power around the greens. Now, it’s not cheap at around $50 a dozen, but for seniors who want that premium feel, it’s the best tightless for your swing speed. Then at number one, it’s the Tailor Made Tour Response. This is my top pick for senior golfers. It’s a three-piece urethane ball, so it has that tall spin and feel, but around 70 compression, so it’s actually built for moderate swing speeds. In my Golf Spies midspeed robot testing, it was one of the longest and most consistent balls tested. Off the driver, it has great launch, lower spin, and tons of carry. So, if you haven’t tried this ball yet, it’s one you should definitely add to your bag. So, what golf ball are you currently playing? What’s your top choice for senior golfers? And what ball have I left off the list? Let me know in the comments below. And if you’re still not sure what golf ball to play, check out this video next. and I’ll catch you in the next

What ball are you playing right now — and have you played any of these balls? 🤔🏌️♂️
Great list. I’ve actually played all of those balls you recommended and they all play well. The AVX is the longest one for me but expensive. I tend to start a lot of my rounds at the 19th hole so I usually play the Duo Soft or the Speedsoft because they aren’t as tough on the wallet when you lose one. They are both great and play about the same for me. About the only difference I can tell is that the Duo Soft tends to launch a bit higher. I really enjoy your reviews. Keep up the good work!
Some good choices of balls in this video, one thing you might add to the video is the drop in temperature this time of year, the last two rounds I have play with a Wilson duo and one you didn’t mention is the Noodle soft, both fly high and land soft on the greens, both balls feel like hitting a marshmallow, compared to pro v1 or similar, you can get good distance with them. Living in this part of Canada there is only 3 week to the end of the season it’s cooling down quick. 😂😂 👍🏌️♂️🇨🇦
Like everything in life, there are seniors and seniors! I’m 66, been playing the ProV1 since it came out 25 years ago and still give the ball a slap, we have a 180 yard par 3 and I’m regularly putting after a 5 iron (example) saying that I recognise my age and am testing the Triad as my new ball, seems as long, spins well and £30/12! I used the Velocity as my Winter ball, I’m high spinner so it worked and I got 4 boxes for £40 at a pro shop closing sale! Now testing the Kirkland V3.5 & Legato LTX 3085 for that position!
All a good choice, sadly the Pinnacle Compression 40 (C40) , production is finished, Titleist I believe is halting all brand production. To me the best value soft ball.
I now qualify in my club as as senior (early 50s), but have a diver club speed of 105 MPH, so in my bags I just keep found balls of the same compression together in a small net sack.
Total agreement a C40-C65 ball hit from the center of the face is as good as a 3 Piece Urethane hit off a sprayed driver head.
Any views on the latest Kirkland balls, people always seem to rate them. (v3). Also, the titleist trufeel?
I have been playing the Wilson 50 this summer, with great results. I am a senior, 71 years young, with a slow swing speed, and the price is right, 38 dollars for 24!
60yo with a slow swing and I ONLY play the Taylormade Soft Response! It is a great ball and cheap on LostGolfBalls!
My go 2 ball is AVX, but at the moment I play Wilson Triad on the list for its stopping power. A clicker sound, but still soft and long.
Surprised about Tour Response, which is short off the tee for me with a swing speed around 75.
Depending whether I can get a good price, Trufeel, Q Star Tour, Tour Reponse, Wilson Triad
I play the tm tour response and their great. What's also great and performs nearly the same for me is the Wilson Zip ball. Price vs performance I think the zip is the best ball on the market.
Srixon Qstar ultispeed. Or a vice air soft.
Callaway SuperSoft for sure. Noodle Soft & Long. Vice Pro Soft. Love all of these.
