Heat. Hey. Hey. Hey. [Applause] Evening folks, welcome back to the Queen’s club east court for the final match of today’s quarterfinals. This match will be between Westwood’s Benta Matthews and the Queens Club’s own Brinsers. My name is Sam Leg. I’m joined in commentary by uh Dr. Rob Shankman. Rob, how are you? I’m good, thanks bro. Had an interesting day. Bit stiff, but uh happy to be stood here with you, mate. You’re warming me up, mate. This this heat is doing more work than I am. Trust me. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, uh Bren on screen, 40 years old, world rank world rank number nine actually. Hi mate. 5.2 and yeah, plays out of Queens. What a fantastic record he’s got at this tournament. Won it in 2012. Same with the US Open. Um played a final eliminator that year as well and a serious amount of French Open semi-finalist. And I imagine I think he’s played Open as well, but yeah, no French Open final yet. I don’t think Brin’s come out to Oz in my time since about 2018 but uh before then definitely before definitely before so recent matches lost in the round 16 to Mr. Fay can happen to the best of you and won the IRTPA satellite. So had a great trip to Aken did Brin and then lost in the Champs Trophy semifinal. Um either way look either way look at that record. Semiquarter semiquarter quarter final. So he is a force to be reckoned with on this court. Um and obviously lost in five to Mr. Lumley last time out. did not play last year because he was injured. Well, not injured. He’d had an operation. Um at the service center, Ben Taylor Matthews wearing his black Westwood jumper, age 41. Um and world ranked number four. Um and currently in a good spot in the world race um again, yeah, British Open finalist in 2021. I think he’s nearly reached the final of every open. Yeah. Apart from the US. Apart from the US. a serial ser finalist. Yeah. He’s just uh just yet to get over the line on a major, but has been there or thereabouts for quite a long time now. Yeah. Um recent matches. So, lost in the semis of the players champs and lost in the semis of the Champions Trophy. So, a couple of semis in the bank recently. Didn’t play the French, but um British Open quarterfinal right now. Yeah, Ben’s definitely looked in uh looked in seriously good form since uh since like mid 2022, 2023 now. He’s really stepped it up since then. Of course, Matthews last year. Managed to get a semi-final vanquished by Cam on his way to winning last year. These two have played quite a lot against each other. They seem to play each other every year in the British Open, but um Brin currently up in that rivalry. 26 matches, one to nine. That’s hell of a lot of meetings. What a rivalry that is. I mean, 6-3 at Queens as well. So, I wonder what year that goes back to. They’re actually two and three in the last few. I mean, that’s like National League. I mean, yeah, they first played in like 05 maybe, but it’s huge. Britain’s both up at Queens and in general. So, be looking to uh looking to get through this quarterfinal to meet John Lumley potentially in the semis. Your marker for this evening is serial marker for today. John was Casey. All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the fourth quarter final of the British Open singles for 2025. Just a couple of quick housekeeping things for those watching in the deadon or in the upper gallery. Please applaud and cheer as loudly and enthusiastically as you’d like in between points, but stay silent during play and ensure that your phones are on silent or off. Excellent. Introducing the players at the service end, the number three seed, Ben Taylor Matthews. Woo! And at the receivers’s end, the number seven seed Bin Saiers. This match best of five six game sets. Good luck. Love all. 50 left. worse than five 15. Oh, thought that clipped. shot Jake from second gallery. Two chases. Good hit from Bren. News just in from the Oracle. 15. First instance of this uh this rivalry was in 2006 at the British under 24s. Ben winning that one. 6164. Uh 64 64. Sorry. Oh, PS are both here, mate. There we are. Back in back in the booth yet again. The 15 love the server leads. First J is worse than five. Oh, [Music] last chase first. Britain will probably expect second chase on the second gallery. [Music] 1530. Oh, unforced. 30. Correct me if I’m wrong, Shanks, but this is Ben’s first away in inverted commas British Open, is it not? Yeah. 40 30 Britain didn’t like one. I wonder if he made that. 42 receiver. [Music] That’s him. He’s stolen it. I think he was third down there for the receiver. That’s by one game for great shooting. Quick. That’s tricky. [Music] Really good bending from Ben there to get up and down the line. [Music] Jesus on the second gallery. Two chases. I think one thing makes Ben so dangerous. His shot choices are just so clinical. I think when he gets that easy ball, he’s very very good at just keeping you under pressure. Um he might not be like say the hardest hitter in the world or hit with the most cut, but he’s definitely accurate. He’s accurate. Yeah, super accurate to the extent where he’ll just strangle you over the course of a match, giving you giving you nothing and then putting away the easy one. You’ve you’ve practiced a lot against uh against Ben. What do you generally serve him and what can we expect Brin to be uh pushing on this match? First hazard better than on the first gallery talk after hazard better than the first gallery. Too good. Receiver wins points 50. Second chase is better than second gallery. [Music] He’s missed. That’s the second runner done there. winning or bust all time. Yeah. I don’t know. He’s tricky to serve to. He’s kind of got a bit of everything. I’ve had a tiny bit of success. So, hang on. better than four serving side walls on this court to him. Um second just making him back off a little bit but obviously if his cut if his cut volley is not on then that serve can be effective but if his cut volley is on you’re in trouble. Um, so with slightly older balls at Queens which are going to bounce up a little bit more, maybe serving to Ben’s cut volley is a viable option. But then you’re in a rally, you want to keep that rally kind of you want to try and stay on top of it and it’s hard to do cuz his backhand round that grill corner is amazing. So yeah, tricky tricky. Always a battle. That’s an ace. So many of those they’re like aces over your shoulder. It’s weird. University. The second is better than four. [Music] It’s almost done two in a row. Amazing serve. Very impressive. Britain this week being so so far the craftiest we’ve seen serving. Finish game. One game over. One set. One each early in this first set. Oh, good width. Good width. Great response from Matthews on that serve, but wasn’t quite enough. [Applause] First seat up. [Music] [Music] Thought Ben played that rest really quite well. four left. Apart from leaving the uh one that missed the grill, good option the last gallery 40. Um so yeah, some very tight serving there from Brin and good targets, right? I mean, he’s nearly picked out two girls in this game, as well as one which has just gone base of tambber. So, um, let’s see what Ben can kind of do to return the favor a little bit. Wonder if we’ve got anyone tuning into the live chat. It’s It’s very much uh Australian waking up. The receiver chase the last gallery. Lost J. 15. [Music] Yeah, got found. Great shot from Ben. 13 40 [Music] gate for the receiver. Receiver lead by two games to one. probably it 15. Second G. Smart option. Brim Christina. [Music] [Music] Oh, an error. 15 [Music] gallery. I have a feeling that even these first three games we’re going to be seeing quite a lot of gallery hitting from both these guys. Yeah, I agree. Both known for having like seriously solid backhand side games. So, uh they’re not really going to want to prolong the rallies from the hazard end. Yeah, I think it’s going to be very much a case of who can settle in settle in quickest. Tell I mean it’s been a long day at Queens. Defo cold weather evening match under the lights and uh yeah neither of them have really hit top gear yet. So um 15 all first chase is the second gallery. Definitely still feeling each other out a little bit. That’s too good. Great roll from Ben again. Supreme accuracy, right? 3050. Second chase is the first gallery. Wow, he’s got two in a row. He’s done it again. 40 50 off the volley is tough as well. That’s very impressive. [Music] So good quarter to corner work from Ben Taylor Matthews two games first. Ben brings it back even to all in the first. Oh, nearly a great read. [Music] Good shot. 15. Okay, the last gallery 15. So, Lev Yashin in the chat. There aren’t any French players that are good now. I think [Music] I mean Leand from Belgium 15. Um, but I mean Matio Salong was a top 10 player for a long time, but he’s kind of retired now. Looks like not really entering any tournaments, so he was good, but um, yeah, not so much anymore. But we’ll see who’s going to be the next generation of top tier French talent. Um, could be you, even though Levashian is not your real name. So yeah, two games all 15 all on a knife edge. This one Sammy. Yeah, this one uh this one’s got every chance of going the distance. The last gallery. It’s good shot. 3050. Second test is the second gallery. [Music] Faulty shipping done. [Music] [Music] Hey. Watch the second gallery. 4015 15. Another good protracted rest there. I think both these players have the characteristics to uh to have the average uh average rest length be uh be really up there. Absolutely. Not known for like trying to kill the ball. Receivers receiver leads worse than the second gallery. If it’s on, they’ll put it away, but [Music] Oh, what an error. Gate to the receiver. Receive lead by three games for two. First set 32. Oh, I love that from Matthews. He’s just started in the past year or two incorporating that backhand roll drive pressure. [Music] 30 left. Something characteristic here is there. [Music] If there’s one thing Brin’s always got, it’s that target. So good here. 15. Not worse the one who chase worse the last worse the one 3050 both players a bit bewildered by that call I think I don’t know um seemed Prince seemed to think he got it but he was he was certainly stunned he just sort of stood there with Matio so long was injured and he’s going to start training soon I I think. Well, that’s hot off the press. He’s just in. He’s just in. Wow. I think in the World Championships, juniors, I’ll make at least a semi-finals. Well, wow. Big claims from this anonymous French viewer. 305 the server leagues. First is worse than the last gallery. Worse than last. Bit of an opening here for Ben. That’s great tennis. Great control from B 1450 now with two points for 42. Double b 40 [Music] triple. So Oh, he’s done it anyway. Yeah. So, yeah, the reason Ben’s done that is because Brenn got that ball. So, a bit of sportsmanship game two in first set. 42. Yeah, Mark’s word goes, but I think as well because Bennett won the previous point, he was like, why not? Yeah. [Music] Wow, it’s just a great drive. Great heat. Holy moly. Here’s that uh not up call we see. [Music] Nice shot. Apologies. That was just Here we go. One chase. Yeah, he’s definitely got that. [Music] Deep ball from Bren. Great shot. 15. Wow. Be happy with the fault there. Absolutely. [Music] Oh, it’s narrower. 14 15 and eight worse than five. So yeah, 405. So yeah, I’ve only ever had that once where a players deliberately double folded. So it was in Newport and actually Ben was marking and I was playing Camden and a ball like rolled out main wall back wall and I got it and Ben called not up and I was like and it went in the grill when Camd went and not Ben went not up and Camden just put the next two in the net. Yeah. I was like okay 1540 or whatever it was. Went on to the match. Six love. Six love. Six love. No, Sammy didn’t. But sorry, mate. Was that 325 points here for 52? [Music] [Music] Great shot from Ben. Lovely width. And again at five games to the receiver lead in the first set. 52. Oh wow. Miss Ben I think was too mind for us to go in and pick that. shot. Lovely variation from Ben working both corners. [Music] again. Did go the wrong way there. He definitely didn’t go the correct way. So not that there’s a right or a wrong way, but yeah, there’s the way the ball’s going the way you’re going. So just missing the tambber there. Lovely angle. Perfect length, isn’t it? Just enough time on the strings from Ben. Yeah. So, 15 left Ben. Two tough chases though, really. I mean, six yards on this court. The receiver leads. First chase is worse than six. Ben 52 up in this first set. Dispatch. [Music] Well, 15. Second case is two yards. Case two. [Music] Great serve from B. station. 3050 [Music] [Music] shot from Brim. Taking the gallery. There’s the last gallery. Definitely the uh textbook shot there. I said buried it class 30 [Music] again. Is that like T30 and chase the last gallery. Has he just has he chased after that one a bit much? What was the what was the hand signal for, do you think? I don’t know. I think but again, Ben just a fantastic retrieval. Like he’s basically won that point just through one brilliant shot. I mean, Binn did nothing wrong. He’s taken on the volley there, which is a completely valid option. Absolutely. Almost has to volley that. Um, letting it bounce would give Ben too much time to get position. So brilliant retrieval really last gallery set point here for Ben [Music] half the court in play. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Brin is also one of the best players at saving like seven game points in the world. He’s won a lot of matches from behind from losing positions. Well, tough one for Sarah though. Set point number two. [Music] That could get weird. Oh, supremely good hands from her in there. What an effort. Holy moly. As you say, he’s pretty good at saving set points. [Music] Wow. Amazing server. Oh. [Music] Wow. Two set points lost. Start off. Three games to five. The receiver each per set. [Music] Wow. Slightly fortunate that tape, but still fantastic length. I think he was well on top at that point. Yeah. [Music] Oh, nearly. [Music] I think it’s safe to say that Brit’s pretty dialed in on that high serve. Yeah, he’s you can just kind of find it from any spot on the court. Um, amazing really. Um, so we’re still in the set. 35. No strokes in this game. Two good chases for Ben. Definitely be looking to convert on both of these. Yeah, I think we’ve seen this week that guys who’ve been at the service end slightly more serve slightly more points, they’ve just generally done better. I think it is a service court. Um, no strokes. First chase is one and two. It’s too good. Good hold especially on one and two. First up second chase is better than the last gallery. Huge point to win for Brin there. [Music] [Music] [Music] Wow. Momentum here. The last sting is the last gallery. 30 left. [Music] Great footwork there from Brim. We can just see him take a little half step just to get in front of the tambber. Brilliant fast feet. Shanks, in a match like this, how much difference is it going to make if you catch more second galleries than last galleries? I think minimal. Minimal. Obviously find the chase. I honestly think at this level um that’s John Ly and Ben course two champions in their respective field. Um yeah, I don’t think it makes makes much difference, right? Like these players are good enough to be second or last, but obviously it makes a difference if it’s last. Oh, amazing. Ben was able to get that from behind him. 15. Great play. Worse than four. Worse than four. It’s just too good that time. He’s really able to whip that through pretty quick. [Music] Another good hold from Ren. He’s pretty good at finishing it from up the court, isn’t he? Yeah, he’s the server. Four game five the receiver lead 45 That’s such a good volley from Matthews from there. Yeah, he’s really got a dial in now. [Music] Oh, tricky part of the tambber. Two paste. [Music] The last curry, two chases. Worst two in the last curry. 15 love. I think Ben’s got to be happy with that result in this early. Yeah. 15 love and two chases pending. Um yeah, he’ll be happy with that. Get down to service end again. I think he’ll want to serve a little bit better than he did last time he was down this end. I think he put one on the back penthouse on chase one and two. It’s those kind of margins that really can count against you. Um over the course of a set. Um so yeah 15 love down but 15 love the receiver elite first chase is worse than One chase [Applause] on the floor. Great length. Second chase is the last gallery. [Music] They stop. Wow. 30 love receiver [Music] 15 slightly way in there. 1450 time. Thank you. [Music] Some great volley to bring up a five all game. Wow. James five games in the first set final. [Music] Just gone out. Been here under some pressure to find the momentum. four. Fortunate back edge of last gallery for Brin there. Giving him worse than four. [Music] 150. [Music] Oh, what a serve. That is 30 50. Good time to pull it out. [Music] Chase nearly a yard worse than the last gallery. Two chases worse than four. Nearly a yard worse than last and opting to leave. 15. He fancies his chances of beating both those on the floor. I think that’s definitely the case. Wo. It’s just not worth um swinging at one giving away a racket error when it’s especially if Yeah. Especially if you’re out of position, right? Yeah. It’s just not worth it. Might as well preserve the point and deep breath and change ends. 305 the receiver leads. First J, excuse me. First chase is worse than four. Here we go. First, second pitch is nearly a yard worse than the last go. [Music] Oh, it’s just crept out. And this is going to be his third set point. Yeah. [Music] Nice rolled. Brutal gap. 40. It’s unlucky for Bren there. He was a well and truly in that point. Slightly unfortunate bounce. He’s got to attack better than three. Set point down. Wow. What a set though from 52 up. Brins managed to work his way back to five all 30. Nailbiting stuff from the east quarter of the queen. The server leads chase better than three. He’s done it. Wow. He has done it. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re at five all in deuce. [Music] Advantage receiver. [Music] Brid converts his first set point. First set to say the first set to the receiver. Six games to five. The receiver leads by one set to love. Time please. Lots of commotion downstairs in the dead. First set brim. Wow. 52 down. 4015 down I think he was. Ben’s giving us the double teapot, but I think he’ll be Oh, 15 up. Nice. Second gallery. 15 love. One chase second on the second gallery. Two chases. You could grab the balls, please. So, obviously, first set done. Stats on screen. Identical dead-ons and grills. Identical winning galleries points won 132 31 so pretty much identical brin serving slightly more I mean literally there’s nothing between them in that set nothing between them I’ve never seen such similar end of set statistics very nearly just mirror image that is we’re splitting hairs at this point Steve Huffford in the chat let’s go Ben obviously from Westwood keen player Um Tim in Rhode Island. What a match. A regular commenter on um on all the streams. You must be in Rhode Island, Tim. Yeah. Cla Vogel, cue the drum roll. First chase is the second gallery. Steve, you should be on coms with us. Oh, great tickets. 15 all second taste is better than the second gallery. Oh, better than [Music] Oh wow, great hands from Bren that one off the side. Yeah, did it. 3050 grimacing after the frame. Oh, quick didn’t go over 14 15 time points for here for Bren to draw first blood in the [Music] [Music] Okay. To the server. The first game with the second set lead by one game club. Well played. Lovely length from Ben. I think it’s going to be more patient play like that that’s uh going to get him back into this set. I mean early days. Great follow the second gallery for chasing better 15. as we see that great pick off the sidewall from Brin. Ben actually nearly got that. Ben the second that was creeping over, wasn’t it? So, um, going to have to inform Mr. Gate and be that I will be departing in 2 minutes time. So, probably one more change of ends and then we’ll have a change of commentators. He’s locked himself in the room so we can’t see him. Where do you have to be off to, Shanks? Just I just want dinner, Sam Tammy. Yeah, fair enough. I’m hungry, mate. Yeah, I didn’t eat I didn’t eat after my match. So as we start commentating well fueled up for this one. Great ball. Fantastic point. 30 left. Second chase is the second gallery. [Music] Well played, Ban. Well played, Ban. Great pressure. 40 left. That’s the game. Well played, B. Here we are. One game all one a piece in the second. Take the last gallery. Great pull. That’s great. Okay. [Music] [Music] Oh, it’s a good play. Two chases, Sammy. I’ll see you tomorrow. Chase, it’s been a pleasure. Thank you, mate. [Music] [Music] No strokes. First case is the last gallery. dealerating hazard the door. Thank you, Sammy. Good to be here. We are seeing an excellent advant um demonstration of why home court advantage is a thing. [Music] Also why head-to-head records are a thing. [Music] I think we’re so used to in this sport um 15 being in the situation where you know one beats two, two beats three, three beats four. [Music] [Music] [Music] What a rally for eventually finding the winner. 40 50 laptop one beats two two beat three three beats four that a couple of headto- heads against that really stand out it’s gone through the beams uh this is one of them the other one being uh Rob Fay versus Nikki H which is going to be us first semiinal Two games to one. Two-1 second set. Britain just questioning us in the com booth as to whether that went out. Yes, in fact it did. That’s the reason why I prefer through the beams to be in until it hits something. Well, there’s a lot of beam up here at the Queens Club for to go through. So, 150 all here now. Brien leading this second set to one. [Music] 135. I don’t think Ben’s really hit his shots well these last probably 20 minutes or so. No, I think you’d be correct, Ben. The first gallery 30 151 chase. Another perfect high serve from Bin. The famed Bin Sers Queens Club high serve. He’s so far hit three perfect ones in this match. Unretrievable or good enough along with some ones where it is retrievable but very very difficult. Yeah. Which have uh invariably won him the point after a wayward return to surf. It’s fascinating being at the Queen’s Club for a week and a half, two weeks because you realize that every time there’s a court that no member is booked and Bin’s in the club, he wanders on and starts practicing that high surf. Sounds like uh sounds like we need to have a chat about 15. The receiver eats chase the first gallery. That is me and Bren. Not a big fan of the high surf. [Music] Ben cannot believe his mis hazard galleries there. Saw just threw his head back in angst. I think he’s feeling a little bit like the universe is against him, which isn’t really a bend we’ve seen much of late except when he’s buying KB. Oh, generally he’s been quite measured and composed the last few years around the co era. He was particularly more worse before self-destructive shall we say. Yeah. Question for you then, Ben. Which statistically you you have the statistics on this. Is there a stronger homec court advantage between Brinses and Queens or Kieran Booth and Melbourne? I don’t have that statistic right in front of me. Of the times that KB beat Ben was in Hobart. Great. Third up. Second chance is worse than six. off the grill ledge but onto the back penthouse. And that last strike from Ben really late to get moving. Yeah, I think Britain could have left that last one to be honest. [Music] just don’t think he’s reading the play well at the moment. Taylor Matthews [Music] [Music] He’s not as well as we know he can do as B finds yet another grill. 40, his third of the match. Game point here for 4-1. [Music] Yeah, this set is in the danger territory now for Taylor Matthews. Shots like that. [Music] [Music] 15 left. Wow. He’s had that finish so well all night tonight, Britain. Anytime he’s come up the court to play the ball, he’s just never missed. No, we’ve yet to see an instance of him failing to put that ball away. 3050. [Music] again finds a target off the back penthouse. He’s just looking so solid. He can’t miss a ball. Uh he’s got BTM under so much pressure right now. Ben can’t find a winner. He can’t find a good shot away. You can’t find a a weakness in Brid’s armor right now. And that’s reflecting on the scoreboard. [Music] Having won fifth in the second gallery 30 all one chase having won nine of the last 10 games or eight of the last nine. small margin. You think back to that first set 52 up 40 15 up very different complexion to it did back then. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, we’ve seen some uh seen some fantastic defensive play from Se. He just has been nearly errorless for the past, as we say, nine games. Um, got a comment in the live chat from Zazil. Which of the top players has the best high serve? Give that one to you, Sammy. Depends on if you’re after consistency or uh or best possible result. I think consistency is definitely up there. First chase is better than the second gallery. Better than second. [Music] That being said, the high server is very core is more than a yard worse than last. Depends on the height of the ceiling, depends on the angle of the penthouse, depends on how dead the penthouse is. It doesn’t take any grip and spin. Because there’s another factor that she haven’t mentioned there which is variation. [Music] Do you hit a high serve with a back spin, an under spin, an outside spin set? As Brin says goes 51 up in the second set up two. Yeah, I think if you take Tim Chisum and Leon Smart and melt them all together, you’d end up with the uh the perfect high server. Ben pulling out the caterpillar to try and break up some rhythm in this set. Just because Leon serves lot doesn’t mean he’s necessary part of that conversation. He definitely can get the best results. That one just slips into the dead on. Prince is two points away from a two set lead. That’s definitely a f on the floor. Standard about hazard half a yard. has it better than one. Demi PK second serve. So close to a double fault, too. Yeah. 15 seconds. [Music] That’s a great shot off the floor from Brim. Yeah, two set points. I have to say half an hour ago when Ben was 52 up, we did not feel like we’re going to be in I would have taken any odds on a pins two set lead. No, no, but here we are. Should also mention back at you, Ben, that um the in the most recent Australian Open where Kieran beat Ben, Ben was suffering with some illness as well. Yes. as well as Kieran Booth being from Hobart. Yes, but your question was about Melbourne. I felt it was somewhat directed at that particular head-to-head, but no matter. Um, we are at set point chase 2. 4015. The server leads would be a great escape if Ben can get out of this one. First two were good but Brink will let the third go. 13 for one. Second set goes the way of sayers by two sets to love. Third set level Jake worst from the second G. Feels like Ben has started this third set hitting the ball with real purpose that was missing in the second. At least at the very start of the second [Music] find has galleries for two chases. Second gallery passes the door. Is it playing with purpose or or is it just throwing the kitchen sink at it? Don’t know. We saw a caterpillar. I definitely consider that the kitchen sink. The uh statistics for set two only 21 minutes that set. It did go by quick, didn’t it? Very much more in Brit’s favor. So Matthew’s only just quite ser Yeah, the first set was basically exactly even on every category and that site that set much more favor in every category. [Music] 15. Second case is hazard the door hazard. lost the chase. He lost the chase by hitting the hazard the line post. Is that what happened? I believe it was hazard first on has the door. Okay, it was hazard the door. My my apologies. I thought it was hazard first. My apologies. It’s great deception from Bre there. Better be fine. Inspecting the racket. No damage, no cracks. Onwards. how he’s found the dead on from there is just absolute class. Um going to go through some comments in the live chat now. Um, starting with not Hasbar, who are the up and cominging juniors? Any people to look out for? Um, I think it partly depends on what age category you’re you’re talking about. If you’re talking about I’d love to be able to I’d love to be able to say me, but um, definitely not a junior and may may or may not be up and coming soon. Yeah. So I think in the kind of the early 20s you’ve got the likes of Henry Henman just turned pro Bertie Valot top amateur Ollie Pritmore will Flynn as had a fantastic uh tournament here. You look at the slightly younger age categories you’re looking at um Max Warner Algi Nottingham Archie Watson they’ve all gone deep in the British under 18s rackets player Archie Campbell. Yeah, his toes into real tennis. The US looking particularly strong in the under 16s with Jonas Serot and Curt Müer. So, plenty of young talent coming through. And let’s not forget Katherine Carney on the women’s side. Currently at Melbourne and has dropped her handicap 10 points since she got there. 30. That’s a great hit from Matthews 40. Generating all the pace on that one. 15 15 That was great in all four corners. Lovely tennis. 1340. Come on, man. That was a good hit. There’s some heat from BTM. Like to see it like to see more of that. Really find a way to break through. Says it’s all a bit pushy at the moment. Just nudging it around to the corners and not really. Yeah, I do anything with it. Don’t think Ben’s going to be able to beat Brin for consistency at the minute. there. Find some curly shots. Good cut volley would certainly uh certainly go a long way in helping that then. Yeah, I think the uh the future of real tennis is certainly bright at the minute. Yeah, I just want to add add on the two under 12s, Jack and Dan Morgan. Secret boys. Secret boys both played off in the British junior under 12’s final um back um in August. U another comment in here from Mike Carter who says the dead-on crowd don’t look very engaged. I think it’s famously so that the Queen’s crowd is one of the quietest crowds. It’s definitely a definitely a roast J. Not like the the crowd you get at Preston. game conserv one game all that that crowd at presto for the world championships was probably the best for tennis crowd I’ve ever been a part of the last gallery strokes one time please sorry ladies and gentlemen thank [Music] Good hit. More than he had in the last two. The match between Camden and Steve here last year. Camden was so irate that the crowd would not give many applause. That’s what powered him on to win the last um I think it was about the last 15 games without response just to prove a point. Yeah, it’s been a long history of the uh the Queens Club not supporting Candid in events. But yeah, it is quiet even with um home club. Decent crowd in though all in the Den where it’s nice and warm not down the side galleries where it is quite cold. [Music] smashing for that rally. Just doesn’t feel like Ben’s doing the right things to turn it around at this point. It It all still feels the oneway traffic to Britain. More than yard work [Music] [Music] 15. [Music] [Music] Oh, great tennis. Well, the crowd likes that one. At least the the Middle Sex students up here in the top gallery did. Great reflex from both players on the volley. Jason last one. Last 15. Two or three points have been the kind of points that Ben would need if he wants to to win this match. Yeah. Um playing with a little bit more intent. really looking to try and find a a weakness in in Brin as opposed to again just pushing it around into the corners and hoping for the error. Brin just not going to give him that error. So Sammy, what’s the best crowd you’ve been a part of in real tennis? First case is the last gallery. I think I’ll think on that for a moment during this rally, but um I’ve got a couple in mind again. So much better from Ben picking the balls out of the air on that backhand volley. Second control and start to move Brin to side to move Brin from side to side a bit. [Music] Still in play. Still in play. Lost J. He’s completely lost that. Well left 14 15. Heat. Heat. [Music] Okay, the last gallery 4015 finds the last gallery as well. Ben, whilst these balls continue to soften, the deeper we get in this tournament, the more this court is going to favor the players that like to hit openings. Yeah, it’s going to be harder and harder to kill that ball with good line and length into the corners as it picks up more and more top spin off the floor. Uh this being quite a bouncy court anyway, it’s it’s particularly difficult to kill the ball with old uh with older balls. Well, there are five sets of balls in use this week plus the two sets of members balls. Um it’s a great stand from the Queen’s Pro Shop to get ready for that. The receiver league after tomorrow they’ll pick out the best balls from each of the five sets to form the sets for the semis and the finals. gate to the receiver. Receiver leads by two games to one in the third set. Two-1 cuz they have taken a battering plus with the the 10 women’s matches, additional qualifying matches. One, two, It’s a great Rest [Applause] 15. Okay. Worse from the second gallery. Two chases. One and two. Second gallery. 15. Ben has grabbed the initiative a bit here on the back of this forcing period. M but I was as I was saying with um Shman in the last commentary period once you’ve seized the initiative you have to find the time to back off that initial forcing barrage uh and refocus on your basics having now won the initiative as opposed to continuing to force the matter one and two until you get a point where you’re no longer able to execute those shots. So key moments for Ben here. One, two. Oh, beats. Lovely shot. One and two on the floor. Second J. Worst second gallery. One chase. 30. [Music] [Music] much better from Ben Taylor Matthews. Great rest. Moving a lot better on the back of this court. Picking up the ball nice and low to the ground. Hitting over that low part of the net. [Music] [Music] Taste better than the door. 30 all one taste. 301 taste. [Music] Take two. Thank you. Two chases. So, another change of ends with two reasonably attackable chases for Matthews here. So, best crowd, what what’s you what have you come up with? So far I’ve come up with two. The 2019 world double semi-finals day. Who you played in that? Uh it was two matches. one between uh Camden Riviera, Tim Chisum and Ben Taylor Matthews and Matthew Salong’s last better than the door and uh Rob Fal First Steven Gunner and Chris has it too. Has it off particularly the unlucky to lose the the chase hazard two chase by putting it in the hazard second. Particularly the latter match which went to five all in the fifth. Yes I can imagine was still five all in the semis. [Music] Well, that looked not up to me. Corder stroke. Different vantage point here compared to Woods Casey down in the deads. [Music] gallery touching another ball midpoint. I know that um Brett McFaren in Hobart has called points against Nick Stenning for doing that midpoint uh because it puts another ball in play. Uh yeah, not entirely sure what the actual ruling on that is, but uh I would say that you’re not allowed to to do that. I don’t know if there’s a rule against it or for it. Um there you go. The uh the other best real tennis crowd, by the way, that I’ve come across was the 2023 Clo the Olympic trial. Second gallery. Cuz what happens if if if Breen puts that like knot into the gutter and in somewhere else on the court? Balls in play, right? Yeah, [Music] brain’s looking really good now because extreme hypothetical um example, what if you try and knock a ball that’s on the floor to disrupt the one that’s in play to cause a chase? [Music] I guess it’s up to the marker’s discretion because there’s no rule that says that’s explicitly enumerated about it. Yeah, there’s no way that can be yes in my opinion. But if you think differently, let us know in the chat. Chase was to the last gallery. Yeah. All the uh the under 26 tournaments always have uh really good crowds. Mostly when uh when the players are in the side galleries, especially when there are rackets players in the side galleries, they tend to be the uh the most rockous crowds. Yeah, the there’s um racket schools crowds here at Queens are mental. there’s all kinds of chance usually going on and yeah, I think the the for me it’s the the pressed world championships and the um the f women’s final the French Open two years ago was in the final and it was still in the post Paris Olympics fever dream and everyone was supporting anything with the red, white and blue on That plus any varsity match that gets close to the receiver. Rare error from Bren there giving Matthews a 3-1 lead to one in the third set. 31 says won’t be um put off by this though. He’s just going to keep at it. Last point against BTM’s teapot it again. Yeah, double teapot. Yes, that that ball has not touched the ground on the opposite side of the net. So, it is a stroke against Ben. It’s equivalent to hitting it into the floor on your own side of the net without it ever going over. [Music] second gallery. Matthew’s laughing at that particular frame winner. We were discussing at the pro shop earlier today that that particular shop that lost the point to Ben had a local rule in Melbourne for a number of years that that used to be chased line 50. It’s quality ground stroke from Britain there. Have to say the crowd’s not going to get up if Britain keeps death staring. Oh, good tennis. Yeah, the crowd’s not going to g up if the if Brin keeps death staring any member of the crowd who’s making any kind of conversation. Yeah. Yeah. Old noise. [Music] That volley from Matthew more reserved. I think in uh second gallery hazard second gallery the past half an hour we’ve seen him hit seen him hit through those more often than we’ve seen him pull back on them. you see that stroke against Matthews from the from the back penthouse. Yeah, it’s just in this transition phase that I mentioned before between um throwing the kitchen sink at it and then falling back into a gear down to try and be more consistent and push out through the rest of the set. Would one say doing the dishes rather than throwing the kitchen sink? Uh, sure. Um 15 chase is the second my editor in real news tells me to stop mixing metaphors [Music] technical term for mixing hazard second gallery hazard mixing metaphors still spoonisms I’m just going to leave that Get back on the tennis. [Music] First time I’ve really seen Brin this set feel some pressure. [Music] or rather give off the impression through his body language that he feels like the the game is against him. Still very well in the set though. Oh, for sure. For sure. [Music] Take the last gallery textbook. That’s [Music] definitely Bentella Matthews with the initiative here in this third set. 15. That one’s off towards Baron’s Court. Cheap station. Oh, lovely shot. It’s just snuck into the winning gallery. 13 for six. Pretty much from the same spot that Rob Fay hit the World Championship point in 2018 from [Music] 405 and a chase the last gallery. So the question I have for for Brin right now is do you try and hold on as things are and hope that which is fairly even and hope that enough things go your way over the next three or four games that you’re going to not luck your way over the line but chance your way over the line or do you try and uh regroup, take a step back, start a new strategy and start changing things. The receiver lead chase the last gallery. Feels like the next big decision happening in this match. 300 is not happy with that bounce. My impression is it will be the former. Yeah, there’s a few schools of thought on that particular conundrum. [Music] this all. I think the uh the old money would say, why change if you’re winning? Um that was a a classic uh coaching point I always heard from Barry Totes. If you if you’re up, why change anything? Just keep on keeping on. Ride the storm out. See if you can get back to that winning winning mindset that you were in. But then again, if you’re capable of playing multiple different game styles, why not try something different? If you can execute it, there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s arguments for both of these serverly buffer. [Music] Yeah, great shot from Matthews. And again, that’s four games to two. The certific [Music] back himself back himself into that point. [Music] Wow, great adjustment from Sahes there. Ball off the net cord. I think he give it up a little bit. Managed to readjust. Get a good shot away for it. Third, you love one. [Music] Hey, better than the last gallery. 2J is better than two. Better than last 30 l. What Brinn needs to be thinking here is just needs to put in a good five minute stint. Yeah. Find that next level doesn’t have to be for a very long time, but just I think at this point sets at this point in the set there’s good reason to change something. Even if it’s one or two things to try and like kick Ben off his game. 30 love the server leak. Even if it doesn’t result in this set, it sets you up well for the next one. Yeah. [Music] Lost three to love this to bring it back to 34 in the third set. Bring us up two sets to love. Oh no. Bit of frame in that one. Game to four. Bin shaking his head. But three. Scoreboard does not lie. [Music] F. Somewhat like call but accurate. Yeah, just a fault on the floor. Better catch up from Matthews. Chase worse than one. Two chases better than two. Worse than one. Nice try. So again, we were talking in the pro shop before um in one of the breaks during the play today with Britain about balls at the height of the rafters and I said that I thought that his high serve approaches rafters height here. He seemed to think not well I think we have the better view from up here and it’s it’s very nearly going to but not above rafter level like the the eight or so inches maybe foot of rafter that’s there. First chase is better than two. It’s definitely getting up there. The important distinction, of course, it’s not going through. That’s just trickled over. Racket apology from Ben Taylor Matthews. Second chase is worse than one. Bin looks like he does not care in the world about it. He’s pretty stuck. less than a yard. Love that surf from Matthews. Lost Chase. Perfectly lovely. It’s the first sidewall from there that we’ve seen in a while. [Music] Another good ground strike brings him three points for 5-3. [Music] Great hands off the gallery ledge wasn’t enough to stop the chase coming in the end. Yeah. So, having watched a lot of tennis at Queens and a lot of people set up their height set, I think Brunes gets closest to the rafters of anybody by a good margin. Well, he knows exactly where they are. He’s he’s practic practices it every day. Yeah. You would kind of if he put all the work in and his high serve was a bit pants, there would be something wrong in the equation. Yeah. But um Mackenzie’s high serve doesn’t get much higher than the height of the court. And he’s the home bro here, too. 10 gallary. This for 53. [Music] Mackenzie hasn’t won two opens. It’s my response to that. Mackenzie, get your higher. 5-3 to Ben Taylor Matthews in the third set. [Music] Ben, I think Bren must have heard us talking about his high serves. He’s only put that one about 2/3 the way to the rafters. This is a different ISO. This is the draft. [Music] Yeah, I think most of Brin’s Okay, thank you. Most of Brin’s high serves could be considered high drops rather than giraffes. He’s only putting back spin on them rather than uh under under spin, side spin. [Music] Well found. Oh, big pardon. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Thank you. 15 one checks. [Music] [Music] Turn in a row for Bren. 3050. won’t want to give Ben set points like he did in the first 10 second gallery. Jason really enjoying watching Bren play this down the line forehand coming across just we’re going to see one on the replay just now playing it nice and low uh doesn’t have to get very high over the top of the net that was that was the drill I think oh yeah that’s the one couple of inches over the net it’s it’s a bit risky on that side of the court you don’t have to necessarily hit it that low over the net to get a winner out of uh out of the Tampa grill area. In the receiver, first chase is the last gallery. If you hit it that low, you take the grill out of the equation. [Music] [Music] That’s great graft finds the finish. Chase was the last gallery. So really around it and get the ball into the the second gallery. That would have been too risky from that position. But great awareness of where Ben was on the court to be able to get that out into the number chases. Second gallery the chase now. Britain finds a great volley to win the game. four game five back to four five. [Music] Oh, what a shot. Love that double hander, too. Just whipping it over the low part of the net. [Music] frustration threatening to boil over for Taylor Matthews. Take the last calorie two chases worse than three from the last gallery 15. Not quite into snap the racket over the knee territory yet. No, which was at the British Open a couple of years ago. No, I think yeah, he’s going to have to maintain an element of cool whilst the rest of this set plays out. He’s very much still on it and it’s not over till it’s over. No, as Bren expertly demonstrated in the first set. No. Being 52 40 15 down. 15 l server leaps. First chase is worse than three. [Music] Oh, Ben’s done a great job of staying there. Bren had to play every single one of those shots. They were very deep. Wasn’t a question of being able to let them go. Last gallery of the chase now. [Music] expertly found. Any will do, but the winning is nice. 30. Oh, it’s a great shot from Matthews. Faking crosscourt going down the line. tennis gets better and better. 40 30 very rare come on from Britain. Yeah, usually stoic and emotionless on court, but hand in the pro shop. [Music] This match obviously very important for him. [Music] server time. Thank you. Big quick breaking play for both players. Kiss the balls points now for five. It’s very reminiscent of the first set this one. Yeah, but Ben hasn’t seen any set points yet. [Music] That one just trickling over into the hazards. Sorry. Thank you. It is a game of small margins. hasn’t worked for one. That ball from Matthews just perfectly nudged the last gallery ledge. Got really ugly quite quickly for Bren. So five all here in this third set on the cards. Yeah, Bren’s done well to get that back over the net. was quite a long way behind him. Advantage. The receiver chased Hazard worse than one. This five or Hazard worse than a yard. Couldn’t want ask for a better chase in that situation. [Music] Goes to feather it. Finds the back ledge of the last gallery. And we are at five all in this third set. It’s shoelace. Time for bread. It’s well found by Matthews. 50 doesn’t want to let this game go the same way as the first better than four [Music] He’s found the ball on his second try. Great composure there. Be very happy with that outcome for the first two points. Chase better than half a yard. Better than four. Better than half. Couple of good chases for Brin though. It’s uh this is starting to tighten right up. Yeah. Five all with better than half the yard of the bank. It becomes, you know, a couple of millimeters change on your racket face resulting in yards changing where the ball ends up resulting in hours changing where this match ends up. Yeah. 30 is what I’m trying to say. First chase is better than four. Better than four. The first chase. Just caught a bit of main wall. And we have set point to Taylor Matthews. Better than half a yard. The first set point. [Music] and he’s absolutely nailed it. [Applause] Choice other than the dead on the third set to the receiver. Managed to convert. Match stands at two sets to one. One set to two. We are headed to a fourth. The players going to take a short break. It seems toilet break perhaps. We should have some stats from that set coming up. There we go. Here we go. It’s very looks very similar to the first set. So does the score line just the other way around. Yes, it’s it’s really tight, but interestingly in that set, both players doing slightly better as far as claiming points from the receiving end. Yeah, small margins though. Yeah, I think usually that’s an indication that there’s a lot of forcing going on. I don’t necessarily think that’s the case today. Um I think it’s more of a um uh you look at the statistic directly below it as well. Those chases laid stat is really really high. Yeah. So one in one in three balls effectively from the hazard in there laying a chase or from the service end laying a hazard chase. Yeah. I I think it’s more the the long chases that are getting beaten which is why the service one is is the way it is. Both of those average chase lengths being, you know, further than halfway up the court usually indicates players hitting a a lot of galleries and and b a lot of long chases on the floor. Yeah, we we’ve had plenty of first gallery chases had second gallery chases and I think that’s as we have some more numbers come in. I think that’s more reflective of why that particular stat is the way that it is as opposed to a forcing game. We’ve got um Brin coming to back to the court. Um uh we should have some comments in the live chat from Craig Greenhouse. comment comments in the live chat from Crane Greenhouse. Um, Taylor Matthews backhander is oozing with grandeur and follow up to say Brin’s doublehander super glued to the tambber. Yeah, I think uh [Music] I think both players on court at the minute have two of the easily two of the best back hands on tour. This match stands at two sets to one. Server leading fourth set level. Okay. More than a yard worse than last. No. All right, back to it. Fourth set. [Music] Good hitting from Matthew so far. [Music] 15. Tell you what, Brin’s not looking at all like he’s a man who’s had his hip replaced. No, he’s moving really, really well. And and consistently well throughout eight points and B this match so far. Worse than the yard. Two chases. More than worse than last. Worst one. Yeah, I think in all that we saw at the players Britain moved really quite well. Um, but before that was still a little tentative going into the corners. Obviously, he’s put in a lot of rehab on that hip in the last uh 6 to 8 months. Yeah, first tournament back was the FLM Super League here that he was really really sensitive. Um and then again a couple of months later at the Jasmine Dean Cup but since the US pro as you say the players championships in Aken it’s been looking better and better won the satellite first player to win the satellite such as the strength of the field more than a yard worse than last Yeah. [Music] [Music] Some good rest to start this fourth set. 305. The receiver leads case worse than one. Oh. [Music] It’s interesting to note the crowd have mostly retreated from the dead-ons after the end of that third set. I would say not dedicated enough. Still a work day. Gary wants It’s only 8:00 p.m. 4030 and chase the second gallery. Yeah, I think that’s slightly disappointing from the uh from the home crowd for Brent, especially after you lose the third set for them all to clear out. It’s not exactly a vote of confidence. Yeah, he’s lost. He’s lost one set. We go home now. Not interested. These matches are scheduled for two hours. I mean, why would you stay more than that? In any case, we’re we’re here. Inserted server leaks. Chase the We’ll be here to the bitter end. Can’t get rid of us. [Music] Okay. So, the server first game and the fourth set. The middle sets contingent up here in the top gallery are definitely staying [Music] more than he nearly took him on the way through. Bring thought that was well it [Music] [Music] rest. Great high surf from Brin to get started but Ben Matthews too strong in the backhand exchange. [Music] That’s a Great rest. Hand of apology for BTM for the great rest. [Music] [Music] I have to say real tennis players are way too apologetic. I think the hand apology is slightly less apologetic than the racket in the air. [Music] That’s good result for Matthews off that serve. More than a yard worse from the second gallery, threatening to suck right onto the back wall. So Sammy, have you noticed that there’s a a big A3 print out of the tournament rules in the side galleries? I have not been in the side galleries for this entire tournament. Oh, there’s there’s a big A3 print out and one of them is that colored shoes may be worn only if the same make and model of shoe is not available in white. Interesting. Brin’s shoes are quite Larry. Yes. Now that you mention 15, the server elite first is more than a yard worse. I wonder if the pros are getting poled on that heavily. That’s what the rule says. [Music] That’s out of court. I don’t know if it’s a British open rule or a Queens Club rule or a TN because these kind of things get very touchy, especially when [Music] Especially [Music] when Camden comes out with a big bear on his chest or Von comes out with stripes halfway through his shoulder. I have to say the Sergio Tini uh tennis kit is uh very fashionable. 15 left. As of the line, who do you think’s looking stronger at the start of this second uh start of this fourth set? I don’t think that I can call that yet. Sorry. I was thinking that it’s like it’s fairly even right now. Oh, I think either player really has the initiative. Inches. Game of inches. Oh, [Music] Brit finds another top bins. Paul 11 has of the line. Well, I think we may be able to answer the question now. I think Brit’s looking pretty comfortable. Yeah, I think the last few shots were pretty favorable to Britain, but before that, we haven’t seen anything uh Yeah, I don’t especially dominant from either player. I don’t think it’s moved from being a pattern to being a trend yet. bridge gave you a 40 acknowledgement chase hazard the line not sure if he can hear us no he’s talking to someone in the dead on Ben’s lucky to get away with that one [Music] rare serve going deep from Brin on the high serve. [Music] Slightly lucky flush back wall for Brin. Gives the wreck an apology. Server leads by two. Everyone’s everyone’s too well. Everyone’s best friends is the trouble. [Music] [Music] Oh, great tennis. Grin with the double hand is straight off the penthouse seizing the initiative in the rally playing it out. Ben super good on his defense especially around the town of Brin pressing and pressing and pressing and eventually getting the winner. That rest alone was worth the price of admission. Quick reflexes from Brin there in that rest. Better than two. I think Taylor Matthews has switched from the last two points from regular Taylor Matthews to annoyed Taylor Matthews. Better than two. Belligerent Taylor Matthews. Yeah. Going to have a comment in the live chat from Lewis Gordon. This one is for the IRTPGA. That is the International Real Tennis Professionals Golfers Association. These two particularly keen golfers, they wear IRPGA kit. They go on IRPGA tours. Very serious organization. There’s an honors board in the pro shop here at Queens wor than two. Hazard hazard wor. [Music] I think if the post wasn’t recessed, I would have lost it. Yeah. [Music] Chase better than two. Good surf from Taylor Matthews. Are we going all the way? F. That’s got to be a f. Yeah. Yeah. Almost marked. Caught the edge on the way up. [Music] It’s just switched on here in the last few minutes. Taylor Matthews Oh, well read casual as the ball hit the top edge of the dead-on bando out onto the side penthouse was very difficult because it could have had any sort of spin on it. Puts it into the winning gallery. That’s better than four. 4030. Yeah. Current holder of the IRTPGA Championship is uh Bristol Pro Zack Edel. Yes. Though, as Lewis Gordon is reminding us in the live chat that you only need to look at year one of the board, so I’m guessing that’s got his name next to it. Uh yes, it does. Yes. 40 30. The receiver links dates better than four. [Music] Lost. Confident leave. [Music] Ad receiver. Go. [Music] [Music] Good. [Music] [Music] [Applause] Advantage Whatever. Oh. [Music] [Music] Okay. So, the server server leads by three games to one in the fourth set. 3-1. Yeah, Brit settled into this set. Matthew’s still not quite f not quite found his feet. case from the last gallery. That’s right. Okay. [Music] [Music] Yeah. Shop upstairs. [Music] Chase the second gallery. Two chases. Worse than the last gallery. Second gallery. 15. Lovely. Are we going to see the uh get the balls, please, gentlemen? Reminiscent tactic from the uh from the third set where Ben tries to uh gain some confidence in this in this fourth by doing a bit of hitting. Uh quite possibly. Thank you. 3-1 down. Little bit running out of road yet again. 15. Love the receiver leads. First chase is worse than the last. All it takes is lifting for five or 10 minutes, putting in that extra effort. But Bin looking very solid. [Music] Yeah, that’ll do. Good choice. Over win point 15 all. The second takes you to second gallery. One chase 30 15 Gates better than six 3050. [Applause] [Music] 40 15 in a chase better than six. Uh the rule on not tossing your racket is it has to remain in your control at all times. Yeah. Um real tennis players not known for their catching skills. I bet her name is Benedict Yson, in which case good mittens. I also note, Ben, that there’s a uh comment in the a comment in the live chat about uh gainstaging, which I will refrain from answering. 15 servers taste better than six, even though every part of my audio technician brain wants to. Uh we’ll have a look at it overnight and try and get a fix for tomorrow, I think, is the solution. cuz the matches are going back to back to back all day. If there are any issues and don’t actually get much of a chance to fix them. Oh, it’s great control from Matthews. Lovely chase. 403. A crucial time now. Crucial time to try and convert to uh I just try and figure out how Brin managed to hike it over because it didn’t look like he had any power in that shot. The receiver technical ter. Hike it over. Yeah. Yeah. Ho and yeet. Oh. [Music] Oh, unlucky miss. That was for a 4-1 lead in the third uh fourth set. Now back to Juice. Brin taking a moment. [Music] What was that ser? How did he do that? Head receiver serve interrupted by the west court. Oh my goodness. Sorry. What do you mean? There was a quite a significant um vocalization from the west court which Yes. But how did it hit the side penthouse and then turn 90° and go into the back penthouse from there? It’s just it uh I’m still trying to process what happened. The Queen’s penthouse is not known for its consistency, Ben. Uh it’s it’s the older, as we said earlier today, it’s the oldest of the big pen houses. Taste worse than one. An early design that hasn’t quite held up as well as its counterparts. Not sure if the penthouse isn’t original, but that’s got to be a warning coming soon. Surely serve lead by four games to one in the fourth set. 41. Was going to claim that his racket grip is sweaty and slippery. 41 now to say 15. Tyler Matthews really needs to find something here. Yeah, you get the feeling that it’s sort of do or die here. Luck. [Music] Series of good shots from Matthews there and tastes worse than the other. Last gallery was 115 left. Yeah, not a lot of road left. Certainly not an impossible situation to get out of, but not a lot of breathing room either. Yeah, really needs to find something very quickly. Yeah. 15 love. The receiver links. First chase is the last gallery. Second chase is worse than one. He’s upset by some players, people in the galleries talking during the point. Certainly not us cuz we’re We’re trying to stay as silent as possible when the ball’s in play. 30 15. [Music] I think he’s referring to our neighbors to the left. [Music] 1430 points now for 5-1. The spot in the semi-finals at stake. Tal Matthews cannot catch a break, can he? No. Dave the receiver. Receiver leads like five games to one in the fourth set. 5-1. Good dig from Matthews there.
