The Andalucia Performing Arts Society (T.A.P.A.S.) delivered another triumphant evening with its sold-out “Voices of Christmas” production, held in the charming and festively decorated clubhouse at Alhaurin el Grande Golf.
The society’s threefold aim has always been: fun for performers, pleasure for the audience, and funds for a chosen charity, and was brilliantly achieved on Saturday, December 6.
The evening opened with an energetic welcome from the exuberant MC, Lee Jay, who introduced the popular “Sibling Duo”, Nick and Eliza Handley. This well-loved coastal pair got the party started by belting out some uplifting numbers and lively audience participation. Next, Ruth and Craig Norris delighted the crowd with classic favourites in their duo format, “Naughty But Nice”.

The T.A.P.A.S. choir then took the stage in style, delivering what many described as “their best performance yet”. Directed by the talented James Burn, whose original harmonies and creative arrangements are a true highlight, the multinational choir showcased Spanish classics (sung in Spanish!) along with old and new seasonal favourites.
The concert capped a successful Christmas season, following invited performances at cultural events in Coin and Mijas town halls.
For 2025, T.A.P.A.S. has chosen ADSG (Alzheimer and Dementia Support Group) as its beneficiary charity, supporting carers of those affected by these conditions. An impressive raffle featured prizes worth €650, generously donated by local businesses. Thanks to the audience’s enthusiastic support, raffle ticket sales raised at least €750, all going directly to ADSG.
The choir’s second set was met with equal joy and enthusiasm before the evening concluded with a joyous sextet premiere of “All I Want For Christmas is Tunes”—a fresh, original medley of well-known hits, complete with audience participation in a hilarious “12 Days of Christmas”.
The choir gave special thanks to Jimmy Miller, Ruth and Craig Norris, Jacob Botha, Antonia Stahnke, and Ami Lloyd for this memorable treat.
The choir couldn’t resist joining in as the night ended with a jazzed-up “Feliz Navidad”, leaving everyone in the festive spirit and wishing all a Merry Christmas!
T.A.P.A.S. will return in late spring/early summer with its next showcase. Keep an eye on www.tapassociety.com and Euro Weekly News for updates.
