Japan’s Top 50 Golf Course In The World | Experience Golf | Season 1 Episode 3
It’s unbelievable here in this country. I feel very overstimulated. Hope I’m not lost. I cannot believe this is wild. Look at this, y’all. Holy sick. Let’s go. Wow. Strap in and let’s experience golf together. I literally have chills. Good morning. We are checking out and I’ve got to walk a couple blocks down to the station and board the Shinkansen to Tokyo station and then Tokyo station to Itto. We’re going to Kana today. So, our round of golf is tomorrow. However, we’re going to go out there, hit some stingers, maybe fly the drone this evening. Mr. Shimzu is going to pick us up from the station, go get a little lunch. So, we’ve got a long travel day ahead. Couple bullet trains, the Shinkansen. These things fly. You’re probably wondering why I have my four iron. Well, yesterday Toru took me down to ship the bag to Kana Hotel. Huge massive win knowing you can spend like $20 to ship your bag down there, not have to deal with it on the train. So, that was absolutely massive. Probably no stingers on the train, but we’ll see. This is legit. First time I’m totally on my own. Hope I’m not lost in this train station. Supposed to meet Tou and have no idea where he is. He’s like, “Yeah, just where we met last time.” Easier said than done. We found him. There he is. Huge for the team morale this morning. Team morale was getting low. Good morning, Tor. We got to stop for a little coffee. So, that first train we were on was about a 2-hour train ride. The next one about another 2-hour train ride. We’re stopping off at Tokyo Station, grab a little quick something to eat, and then uh board the next train to Eido. Stay tuned. This golf course is unbeatable. So, Mr. through Shimzu picked us up from the Itto station in the nicest van I’ve ever been in, taking us to the Kana Hotel. This van is absolutely next level. In the seat right here, you can massage, control the air, music. What a way to get a ride from Itto Station, let me tell you. Relaxation. Relaxation right there. Oh my goodness. Massage. After all this travel having a massage chair in the van, I honestly had no idea these existed. This is a full body massage chair. Wow. This is just getting me ready for tomorrow’s round of golf. How is it, Toro? Hey, I wish I could just lay awake, bro. That’s right. Do you want to take a take a movie sing also? Yeah. Yeah, that sounds good. I don’t know. Please check in. Yes, we have made it to the Kana Hotel. Just checked in and I got to show youall this view. It’s a little rainy outside, but you can see the water. And if it’s not rainy, this is quite the view. Almost feel like you’re in Hawaii or something. What a view. So, we didn’t have to deal with them on the train. Me and Tou had these shipped here from where we were last night. Absolutely incredible to not have to deal with the golf clubs on the train. All right, Mr. Shimzu is taking us out onto the course, hit some stingers, ready to be back in action. It’s been like a year and a half since I’ve been here at Quana Hotel, one of my favorite places in the world. Absolutely love being here. So, we just finished up hitting the stingers, but we had to visit the location of last year’s stinger on Instagram. I don’t even know. It got reposted so many times. Millions of views. Right here is the location. What an epic spot. I’m getting chills right now just getting to come back here. Absolutely incredible. Hopefully y’all enjoyed those stingers out there. That lighthouse is awesome. So, after hitting some stingers, we’re going to eat some dinner. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. I’m not sure if it’s a Michelin star restaurant, but I have to say it could be cuz last year quite possibly my favorite meal I’ve ever had. Unbelievable. All right, so here comes the issue. Which silverware do I choose? I’ve got quite a few options. This is like a salmon crab kind of puree. Very light. I got a little flour on here. Muscles right here, which look absolutely incredible. Me and Tor are trying to figure out is this a two iron or a one iron. I think this is probably a one iron. We got a little tea here. And this desserts like a berry parfait. So good. Well, dinner was absolutely amazing. I can’t say enough good things about that restaurant. And I’m going to go to the spa and relax. And we will see y’all in the morning. Good morning, y’all. We are here. And how about this view? Are you kidding me? Absolutely crazy. This place, like I said yesterday, one of my favorite places in the world. I’m just going to soak this in, finish this cup of coffee, go grab some breakfast, and we’ll see you at the course. We’re having a power walk to the clubhouse cuz the bus to get to hole one is not waiting on us yet. But uh we’ll see. We got a few minutes to catch it. Need to get checked in first. We have officially arrived back at the Fuji Course here at the Quano Hotel. This place is spectacular. I’m looking forward to this round of golf with my good friend Tou. We’re going to be teeing it high, letting it fly, maybe a few stingers as well. Wanted to show you all this before we get started. Here in Japan, they give you one of these little folders here. Has the key to your locker. And also, it’s your scorecard holder. Whenever you purchase anything while you’re playing your round of golf or lunch or after, you just give them this. They scan it and put everything on that and finish paying the bill at the end, which I thought is pretty cool. The goal is two under. Today, we’re going to be playing six holes. got six holes picked out. If I don’t finish two under or better, I have to get from the Eto station to the Narita station on my own. Toro can help me purchase the proper tickets, but I’ve got to navigate the train systems. That’s going to be an experience. It’ll be the first time on my own completely here in Japan. So, hopefully we can shoot two under. We’re just going to jump straight out to the course and uh let it fly. So we start on the back nine. Our first hole of the six holes with the goal of two under is number 11. Par five dog leg left with an awesome lighthouse at the back side of the green. Let’s let it fly. Slipped a little bit, but I think it’s going to be perfect. Wanted to kind of cut that corner there, but uh hopefully we can uh keep our footing better next time. All right, I’ve got 252 here. What a view. What a view. That is absolutely spectacular. It’s asking a lot out of the three iron, but where that pin is, even if I’m a little short, should be okay. Thank you. Go further. Okay, it’s going to be okay. Oh, it got on. Let’s go. Let’s go. Walking up here. That is what you love to see. Trying to get the two under. Look at that lighthouse right there. That is awesome. This is for the eagle three. This would be huge for our goal. No, that was always left. I was always left. That was huge. Pin slammer here at the Fuji course. So, the reason this is called the Fuji course is right here in this direction. If the clouds weren’t there, you would see Mount Fuji. It is a spectacular view. Hopefully, those clouds go away. If you’d like to see the full 18, me and Sam played all 18 here on the channel last year. So, I’ll put the link to that video in the description down below. We’re on to our second hole, par five, number 14, and it is absolutely one of my favorite holes in the world. 470 from the TE’s we’re playing cuz I really wanted to show y’all the extremity of the cliff on the left here. So, we’re going to tee it high, let it fly. Hopefully we can get our second birdie to start strong. Okay, I kind of want to give that like a halfway thumbs up. It might be in the rough, but that was absolutely hammered. So, you can see the tip top of the flag right there. My ball is in the rough. All right, that was a big T- shot right there. It was a helping breeze. 130 left. The right little tree that you see over that slope is kind of kind of the right edge of it. It’s where the flag is. Going to go with wedge. Let’s get a birdie eagle here. Let’s give ourselves a little breathing room. Okay. Little right. Well, I might have caught a little bit of a flyer there. Little long right. Not a ton of green to work with. So, I need to hit this with a little height. Oh, and I nuked it down. Down. Maybe a little to the right. Cup right side. Okay. Was she saying that it’s going to break left? Cup right side. So, play it. It’s going left. Okay. And that is why we have Yoko’s son. I would have played this break and right all day long and she said play it a cup right. So we’re going to trust her cuz she’s been here about 10 years. Well, if I didn’t hit it through the break, that was good. That was a good line. But hit it a little firm. Oh, that is a bogey right there. That was really poor around the green. O, back to even par. All right, I’ve got 185 here into the wind uphill. We’re going to smooth a sixiron because you definitely want to get up there. One of the toughest par 3es out here. And after that very sloppy bogey, but they do happen. I need to make something happen in these last four holes. This is hole number 16. And this is very small green. I love it. I love it. We’re getting a clap from Yoku Son. Love it. So, unfortunately, a little long. I thought that was all over it. Maybe should have gone with the seven iron. Come on. Give it to me. It’s got to go right. Hit that one right where I wanted. We’ll tap this in for the three. And halfway through, we’re even par. I’ve got a birdie. Two holes of the last three. So, this is our cotto. That’s how you say it in Japanese. That’s two bags. I’ve never seen anything like this in the States. Got a spot for the sand, your waters. Two bags. That is sick. Hi. Hi. Hi, Pari. Okay, I’ll be I’ll be right back. I have this and I showed her, but so we stopped there at the snack house and tour came to the rescue was trying to pay for it. However, Mr. Shimzu said that we were an honored guest and he’s already taken care of everything. So, I want to thank him so much for hosting us. Incredible experience. We’re on hole number one here. Our fourth hole. Even par. We’re going to tee it high. Let it fly. What a view. Wow. That’s what we’re looking for right there. Thank you. Toro just hit that shot to like a foot. All right. So, we’ve got 60 yards here. This is position A. Let’s knock it up, though. Let’s get a bird. Oh, no. Oh, I thought that was good. Little short. Almost. And this is probably my favorite spot on the course. Absolutely unreal. Reminds me of the Monterey Peninsula here along this coastline. Yeah, good shot, Toro. Thank you. Thank you. That is another pin slammer. We just had backto back birdies. However, for our challenge, neither one of those count. We’re playing good off camera making birdies. We need two birdies. Two holes remaining in our challenge. Toro is not even driving. Just chilling. You can’t even if you wanted to. That car’s just driving itself through the forest right there. Goodbye cart. I don’t even need to describe that view. Just look. I mean, wow. Par three down the hill. Hole number five. And this is our fifth hole of the challenge. Even par. I’m getting a little nervous cuz this will be the first time that I’ve just had to venture through the train system on my own completely. If we don’t go birdie birdie, this is going to be an interesting end to the video. Fade for me. Fade for me. Oh. All right. We’re putting. This kind of has to go because we have a par4 left and I would need to make it two. Oh, I didn’t hit it, Toru. I didn’t hit it. And I left it in the hard and I knew as soon as I hit it that it wasn’t gonna get there. All right, we got a hole out for a two on the last. Just made another birdie on the last. However, it doesn’t count for our challenge. Playing pretty good golf. Need to make a two right here. Last hole of the challenge. Par4 down the hill. Yokung said that did you come here all the way to Japan to lay up? And I said, I did not. It’s into the wind. 3:30. So, it’s going to take a big T- ball here. I needed two. Oh. Oh, it just landed on the right side and kicked down the hill. All right, we got to chip this in. All right. So, it landed right up there. Kind of front corner kicked down here. This one has to fall otherwise I’m going to have an eventful afternoon slash evening. Oh, I didn’t want to leave it short. Oh, I pulled it. All right, in with the par. We did not accomplish our goal. This is going to be an eventful rest of the day. All right, final hole. This is for seven birdies on the round. Give it to me. No way. Oh my goodness. I actually thought we had it there. tapped us in for a round of 68. However, for the challenge, we did not accomplish our goal to that was so much fun. Thank you. All right. Thank you. Thank you. Yes. Thank you. We are here looking for a ballmark. Let’s see here. I think this one right here looks awesome. That is awesome right there. I’ve decided that we’re going to do ballmarks. Don’t have a ton of room in the bag and so we’re collecting ballmark to give to them in Hawaii. What a day. Absolutely spectacular day. However, the trek back to Toyoko is going to be something. Tou said since I shot 68, he feels like he should be able to give me a little help. I might let them point me in the right direction and then from there I’ll navigate my way there. And I am really hopeful that we can ship my back to the airport. I don’t know if that’s going to be possible because we fly out tomorrow and I’m not sure if it’s enough time, but that would be a huge win. Little beef curry for our last meal here at Kana and the last meal with Tou. Mhm. Before I head on to Korea. It’s been fun, Toro. Oh, yes. So, little coffee with a train ride to give us some energy. And I want to rate this. To be honest, this is just like a drip coffee, but it is so good. I mean, I think this moves up to number three on our list so far. the just drip black coffee here at Kana. So good. I’ve had about 15 cups. So, we got a quick shower and I’m just relaxing in my favorite van of all time. You better believe it. We have already put into play the massage feature here in this seat. This is an incredible van. Mr. Shimizu’s been so kind to take us to uh the Itto station where our adventure will begin. We got this. I think I also want to tell Mr. Shimazu, thank you so much. He’s been an incredible host. Me and Toro have had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend Kowana Hotel. Thank you so much. Thank you for coming. Always. Absolutely. Please come again. I will. I will. So, I have some bad news. We’ve got the golf bag. We got this. Toro is going to help me buy my ticket. Toyoko Hotel. It is going to feel good when we arrive. So, it starts. All right. Needed the coffee for the train. Little hot coffee. This is a new one. We’re going to give it a go. So, this is the easy part of this trip to Toyoko Hotel. Ido station is not real big. And Toro pointed me in the right direction. He helped me get with get the tickets. And then he tells me that good luck in Tokyo Station. We’re going from here to Atami. I got to get off get on the express train to Tokyo station and I have 15 minutes to get to my other train to get to Narita. So, and I’ve got my golf clubs, my luggage, and my backpack. This is all part of the adventure. I can choose any seat on this train. The next train, I have an assigned seat. At least I got my coffee. This is legit. Probably my favorite can coffee here. Actually has like a little sweetener, which I normally don’t do, but maybe it’s just cuz we we have had some long days. Absolutely loving every minute of it. This was pretty good. This was pretty good. I enjoyed it. I think is going to just miss out on the top three. The adventure begins as the doors shut in itto. First train onto a Tommy elevator. Another elevator. All right, couple elevators. Going to Tokyo. Found the train. Car number 13. I’m just watching these bullet trains fly by. This is crazy. Little snack. this thing right here. We made it this far. Tokyo station next stop and then have to probably not going to be able to film. I have to catch this train. We arrived in Tokyo station having to navigate through the chaos with our luggage across several floors trying to find the right train. Soon as I thought I found the right train, three girls approached, said this was the wrong train. I was committed to it. We’re sticking with it. That porn sweat jock all the sluggage. I literally made this by seat 45 seconds. Cars 6 and 12 are passengers. It’s going to be quite the story to tell. Sam and Haley are available. They’re at the hotel just not a care in the world. Not stupid here. I think we’re here. It’s like no one you guys just sitting there like nothing’s happened. All right. So, at least we uh exit everything. Now we got to find a tax stole away. Uh do you take credit card? Okay. Credit. Okay. Y’all have absolutely no idea how good this feels. Oh my goodness. This right here feels like the Ritz Carlton. Oh my goodness. Oh, we did it. That was a day. Oh my goodness. And this bed looks so good. So, we’re just going to end this episode here. Hopefully, y’all are enjoying following along these adventures. Next episode, South Korea.
