The DP World Tour continues its double header Down Under with the Crown Australian Open at Royal Melbourne Golf Club. After a 20-year absence, this week sees golf’s global Tour return to the renowned Royal Melbourne Golf Club for the fifth time. It previously staged the Heinekin Classic for four consecutive years between 2002-2005. This is the 17th time the men’s Crown Australian Open – co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR of Australasia since 2022 – has been held at the venue and the first since since 1991. Royal Melbourne was most recently under the international golf microscope when it hosted the Presidents Cup in 2019. At the top of the field is Rory McIlroy, making his 2026 DP World Tour season debut. McIlroy may be the headline name, but there are plenty of other draw cards for the home crowds. Among those are Major champions Adam Scott, Cam Smith and Geoff Ogilvy. Min Woo Lee draws strong support too, while fellow Antipodeans Ryan Fox, Daniel Hillier and Kazuma Kobori will be out to impress. There is a strong international presence, with South Korea’s Si Woo Kim, Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz and Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune among those to receive an invite.
Welcome to the Official YouTube channel of the DP World Tour. Every week you can find extended tournament highlights and individual player highlights from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood. This is also the home of the 14 Club Challenge, Little Interviews, Fastest Hole and many more challenges, pranks and world record attempts featuring the biggest golfers in the world.

New guard Peterson on the way. How aggressive will he be? Crowd love it. And that’s why a kick in birdie. Aggressive enough. The 14 under. Do you think this is aggressive enough? Uh, I can tell you right now he pulled that. He won’t say anything. Iron in the hand for Raasmas here at 10. I like this play. Mice there is is helping. Beautiful conditions out here. This is a good strike high down the left side of the fairway. Hitting the right today. That’ll be a great angle. There you go. Peterson on the white. just kicks into that UPS slope. Guards the front left section of the green. That’s going to be a little longer when we pan out than it looks from down on this low angle for Nard Peterson. Near guard Peterson needs that and doesn’t get it. So he’s slipping back. Had some twists and turns in the last 45 minutes. Two shots swinging between him and Cam Smith. Five under on the day. Some serious golf to Sunday flags here at Royal Melbourne. That’s fine for Nard Peterson. Suddenly two back after being on top of the leaderboard for so much of the weekend. The young game now near Peterson pins almost on a little bit of a spine over on that left hand side. Want to be right short right of it is ideal. Well, they laid a fair way back off the tea there and hitting five, six irons in. Cam had a lot of break. This has even more Peterson third man to go off the tea at 12 here. Looks pretty good. High ball flight. Should land a little softer in that sloping fairway up there. Asmus will be aiming just a little left to this flag. Trying to hit a fade. Started on a good line. Is it cutting? Winds pushing it left. Very good from there. Get it all the way back. missing that right hand bunker or left of our screen. That is just horrible in there. Seen a couple of players from up here miss this right. So fooled a couple today. Oh, what a roll. Near Peterson right back in the picture at 13 under. could leave here with a share of the lead once more. This 26-year-old from Denmark is made of the right stuff. Three wins on Hotel Planet Tour in 2024 helped gain him promotion to the DP World Tour and now he has a PGA Tour card after his exploits in his rookie season. And the aggressive play here, driver on 13. Yeah, I really like this with the back left hand pin position. Further you get it bent down, the better angle you can have. To near Peterson here. So good. Come on, baby. Oh, look out. Mard Peterson nearly pulling out the eagle at 13. Brilliantly done by Rasmus nearard Peterson. The man who led the way at the start has found his way back to the lead with five holes to go. A birdie at 13 and he is a one-shot leader over Cam Smith. So here is our leader. Well, a little bit fortunate here for Raasmus. He’s been able to punch it out some 70 80 m up the fairway. That will leave him a wedge in for his third. That is a lucky break. There are some shocking places to be down the right hand side of 14, but Birdie still in play for him now. or air swings at 125 with a pitching wedge in hand on a good line. Oh, the in admiration. He’s got that opportunity coming out to extend the lead. Critical part here for Rasmus. Coming back up the hill. Gentle movement to his left. Wouldn’t this be some four after the T-OT? tried its best off that back edge, but we’re going to have two tied for the lead in the last four holes as that stretch continues next on 15. All level of 14. Four to play. Smith and Here goard Peterson. Now once again a much higher ball flight for Rasmus here down the left side. This one should feed down to the middle of the fairway. The one that they lining up and all three here have lined up way way back at those are trees that um frame the narrow part. Well, I think what makes this shot harder is the fact he’s hitting a sand wedge from the sandfield divot. Make sure you hit the ball first, which he has coming in just left of it as well. Nicely done there. Little little unlucky with that first bounce. Just needed to be a bit firmer, but overall I think he’d take it. There’s putts to be made with a tournament to be won. And some early right to left movement here for Braz. Then it should straighten out near the hole. It’s very makeable. At least as that one goes in. One less club hoisting it well up in the air. They all know there is no future short of this pin position today. They all got the memo. Hard left at the start, straighten out, then go right at the end. didn’t take the left. Not the length you want to have with three holes to play. No, it’s in. Nerveless part must have been pounding. Ps at 14, 15 and 16. Two holes to play. Lost it right here yesterday. Cannot make the same mistake today. And he certainly hasn’t. This is crunched down the left hand side. This should be perfect. It’s a bit of a slipstream up that left side, too. Sure is. Just 239 and only 215 to the front with a helping breeze. That’s right around where he needs to land this five iron in hand. Good strike. Terrific line. Now the bounce all important. That’s a great result for the great Dane that for Eagle. Stunning. You can see he flighted that one down. Really get it penetrating and chasing back to the green. Two pristine shots in a row. When he needed to step up to the plate. This for eagle for near guard Peterson. It was a centimeter away if not closer and then snapped. So a tap in birdie and he’s minus 15. Well and I just both almost fell out of our seats as that approached the hole. I thought that was just going to drop in the front door. He very nearly buried the field. With one more roll, he would have done it. He thought it was in. There’s that reaction again. It’s a Royal Melbourne reaction for so many this week. Difficult T- shot for Raasmus Ali. Likes to hit a gentle fade. Hole goes the other way. Gone to the right side of the tea. Starting down the left. This is a beautiful T- shot. He has strike them at 17 and 18. Couple of confident looking swings in a row for Rasmus near Gal Peterson. 165 and a good flag for Raasmus again. Setting it in high this one cutting. It’s also dangerously right. Wow, it’s on the grass. Not even in the sand. That’s a nightmare scenario for the Dane. And the door opens for the Aussie. I’m not going to say impossible, but it’s not far from it. It’s going to take a long puck coming back. Only other option is to play it like a bunker style and flop it up as high as you possibly can and landed a foot or two over the bunker. But that’s just such a high-risisk shot. Very good effort. Still rolling back to pass. Time to go through the routine. One more. Good stroke. What a push. Rear guard Peterson first in at 15 under. His marker has a quote on it. It is what it is and not what it’s for. It’s a mantra he lives by. A 10-footer is a 10-footer. No matter where you are, trust the process. And boy, did he there. and up and down for the ages from the 26-y old from Denmark. If he goes on to win that will be remembered for a very long time. That is almost plaque worthy that up and down. It’s not to be for Cam Smith and Raasmus near Peterson is the Australian Open champion with an up and down of incredible proportions and he’s off to Augusta in 2026. A life-changing week and his Australian caddy wins his ashes. To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. And to subscribe, click here.
