It’s not quite the time we’ve all been waiting for, but 11 players are suited up and ready for the chance to earn their green jacket at the Masters in 2026.
The historic event is just over 100 days away as fans wait to see if Rory McIlroy will defend his trophy or if a different talented golfer will take home the crown. The field is slowly being filled through invites and wins as players look to make history.
Most recently, the Australian Open winner Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen has earned his spot at the Masters after he defeated hometown favorite Cameron Smith and Adam Scott, who has almost 100-major championship appearances.

As they have added new invitation categories, the Masters announced that winners from PGA Tour events that give out FedEx Cup points will get exemptions for their victories. This also means that the winners from the PGA Tour’s FedEx Fall tournaments will no longer earn a spot in the field.
Any player that finishes inside the top-50 of the OWGR at the end of the 2025 calendar year will also qualify for the tournament. While it’s not confirmed yet, these players are amongst those in the top-50.
Alex Noren, Aaron Rai, Kristoffer Reitan, Max Greyserman, Michael Brennan, Michael Kim, Sami Valimaki, Rasmus Hojgaard, Min Woo Lee, Si Woo Kim, and John Keefer.
11 players will earn the chance to get the green jacket in April
Noren, who fell just short of Hideki Matsuyama at the Hero World Challenge, said he works hard for every event he plays in.
“I’m really proud of myself. I had to work pretty hard this tournament to get all the shots you need in the short game, putting, hitting,” said Noren following Tiger Woods’ tournament. “I know maybe low scoring right now, but you’ve got to hit the shots out there. Me and my caddie worked very hard this week to get it all in shape.”
In addition, the winners of the Scottish Open, Spanish Open, Japan Open, Hong Kong Open, Australian Open, and the South African Open will find themselves able to compete for the green jacket.

Fred Ridley, the Chairman of Augusta National said the invites hope to shine a light and brighter future for the players.
“The Masters Tournament has long recognized the significance of having international representation among its invitees,” said Ridley in a release.
“We, along with the R&A, have a shared commitment to the global game and are proud to work together. Today’s announcement strengthens our organizations’ collective vision of rewarding top talent around the world who rise to the top of historic national open championships. We hope this formal recognition shines a bright light on these players and the events they will represent at the Masters and the Open, beginning next year.”
