After Mike Tyson’s loss to Kevin McBride in 2005, he retired from the ring and said that he was no longer the Tyson who had the hunger for the sport, delivering one of the most honest retirement speeches in boxing.

But when you did retire and when you retired in the ring, that was the most honest retirement speech I’ve ever heard of. You’re just like, I don’t I don’t have this in me anymore. This wasn’t there anymore. Just When did you know that you didn’t want to do it anymore? I’ve known years before that, but I was still being very successful. Like when like what year? Like probably around what the 2000 area. That’s post Holyfield. Yeah, after Holyfield. And you just you had done too much. I realized I don’t think I have it anymore cuz um I got the ability to stay in but I don’t got the fighting guts. I’m just sorry I let everybody down. I’m just fighting to take care of my bills basically. I don’t have that ferocity. I’m no animal anymore.

  3. I want to troll and say the most dishonest thing Tyson has ever done was give Joe Rogan a platform to ask stupid questions. I watched this episode when it came out but man, I could not watch 10 minutes of Joe Rogan's podcast today

  4. It's funny how he went from villan to hero in the eyes of the public. Kinda like Eminem too.

  5. He doesn’t realise how cool he is these days. Inside he feels soft and vulnerable. Just like everybody else.

  6. "I'm not an animal anymore" Just brilliant
And he's honest about fighting to pay the bills – got to respect the man. Those who saw Mike in his prime, know what he was capable of, and we'll love him forever bc of what he gave to the world
