Round 4 Highlights | 2025 Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player

on the tea from Norway, Christopher Rayan. And I wonder David, how what you think he might feel about a five shot lead? He should go on to win from here, but it’s Sunday. He will feel anxious because it’s new territory, isn’t it? You can only fail. That’s what’s so difficult in this position. Expected to win. He’ll be expecting to win, but it brings its own pressures. Beautiful [Applause] opening T-shot. Ha. I think he’s got such an advantage today because the pins are wickedly difficult and he can be more circumspect. The other guys have to push and at those flags you can suddenly be eight behind. Indeed. Set yourself a target would be a good way to go. something in the 60s and it’s yours. Well, let’s see if he can finish the job and claim Africa’s major. Iora 10 top 10s this year in the 2025 season and good things continuing for the young Spaniard. Already got the fringe. That’s near perfection arm shaper. This will be a test of the nerves right here. No commentators curse. I hope he’s been utterly brilliant. Oh, wouldn’t you know it. Wouldn’t you know it? Literally the first one we’ve seen him miss. It is a beauty. Took a little more sand there to ensure it ran out up onto that little tea tier. Beautifully done. That is fantastic. And we know he’s had the heeie-jeebies with the chipping. He’s gone cross-handed and he is he’s found a way because he has hit some fantastic chips this week. That’s one of them right there. Great settler. Shaper back at two. You can see the different colors there. At least we could into the grain to start with. You see the dark patch and then it goes up to the lighter bit. Not easy to judge the pace here. baby. Oh my word. It’s exactly what he’s done. That’s a super up and down and he moves to 13 underpar within three. Probably only momentarily. Right was seven shots clear as he stood on the 18th T yesterday. Five clear starting the day and it got as close as three. Now he makes his birdie and moves four ahead. So a nice settler for him to Howong Lee. A slippery run at four. Very nicely done. So it’s a bogey birdie bogey start for Righton and the lead is down to three. Thomas Deree won in Phoenix earlier the year. Good or He started nicely, Dale. He is three under par playing that eighth hole. And every chance he’ll get another birdie there and move to nine under changeing. [Applause] So Justin Schaper, excuse me, Jayen, well done. That’s the sort of break you need. That can turn everything around. Well, he’s made of stern stuff. Radar, it is a birdie for right. So he maintains the threeshot advantage. Well done. That was gutsy stuff. Julian Gerier meanwhile at the eighth. Tyam Bradbury just a wedge from the semi- rough and that is fantastic. Wow. Gura third shot to laying up at the blast hole and that was a good choice. What a fantastic third shot. [Music] I think that goes in without the pin. I truly think it does. Little draw required if he wants to get it into that very very extreme back left pin. Oh my [Applause] Aora at the ninth. his third try over the water. And that is a be [Music] You can’t help thinking, “Oh, what’s going on here?” [Applause] Well, I tell you what, that was headed towards the back fringe. Um, it’s in the hole. But, you know, the first thing that’ll show you when you’re getting a bit jumpy is you lose your pace on the greens. That was way harder than he expected. What a bonus. First of the par threes on the back nine. 223 yards today. They’re all long the par threes. [Applause] Beautiful from Boseiden Hot. He needs a little something. He started with two straight birdies, but he’s won over since then. That looks very very very good. I think that putt at eight that went in the in the hole that pace I mean that was at least seven or eight ft by I think that’s just it’s just turned him around mentally. Meanwhile, to Andy Sullivan up ahead from what 35 ft 40 maybe you beauty Sullivan with backto-back birdies to start the back nine moves to 11 underpar alongside Dietri in a share of fifth place. There we go. There we go. Great shot. Just be empty for it. That’s a gorgeous bunker shot. Just at the right time, too. Another chance to close the gap. He started it further right. Oh, that is a brilliant P. What did he learn? He learned everything he needed to know. Wow. Game on. 16th hole. Shawn Norris. The uh BMW X3 is up for grabs for a hole in one here today. [Applause] Pretty strong effort. I would have left the flag in if I was him because it can jump. It can come out dead and it’s going to be a bogey. And suddenly there is one in it with a tough three stretch to go. How well momentum on his side. Goodness me. Another pin but from this angle doesn’t look like it’s on the green. [Applause] Stunning. He had that sevensh shot lead stepping onto the 18th TE yesterday. Made a double bogey here. The lead was five, but you still expected him, and I’m sure he did himself, to go on and win from there. And slowly the lead was cut. But he does make the putt. And on debut here for the netbang golf challenge. It is victory for Christopher Wright. A second DP World Tour title. He won it. He may not have won it very pretty, but he’s won it. He has. And he’s led from day one. I mean, he’s had the pressure on him all week. And wire towire winning, that’s an achievement. Just something to be very, very proud of. [Applause] [Music] Christopher Rayan, winner of the Sudal Open earlier this year. You’ve just won your second title on the DP World Tour of 2025, this time in the Need Bang Golf Challenge. An oral Gary player. Can you just try and describe how you’re feeling if you can? I’m not I don’t know what I’m feeling right now. I had a lot of nerves today. Um but to get it over the line in the end is a better feeling that I can describe, I think. Um I don’t know. I’m trying my best to deal with um nervousness, you know, fear. Uh it’s really really difficult. I’ve managed to do that really well. um ever since you know midseason last year and uh you know it just keeps getting increasingly more difficult but uh I’m glad to have dealt with it in a good way um and get this over the line that means so much. Uh I’m so pleased. Can I ask where the nerves kicked in today? You had a seven shot lead yesterday standing on the 18th TE and there were a few bogeies early on. How do you deal with those opening holes today? Uh it’s difficult. Uh very difficult. Uh I haven’t been in this situation before uh in my at least in my pro career and um yeah it’s difficult. I don’t really have anything to base it off of. You know maybe my last year where I had uh quite a comfortable margin down to fourth place and I needed to keep the third place. So I don’t know. It just I’ve been feeling nerves all week to be honest, but it just keep kept getting increasingly more. Uh, and today was a different story and uh, yeah, you can maybe tell on some of the shots that I hit as well, but I’m just really glad to get it over the line and um, yeah, to just kind of yeah, get the courage to to hit the shots that I needed to hit down the stretch here especially. So, uh, yeah, over the moon. I was trying to think of a possible turning point today. Was the birdie on a a real settler for you in your round? I don’t know about a settler and it never settled me. But um yeah. Yeah, I would say that helps, you know, uh to drag in a long one. That helps a little bit on the self-belief as well, just to know, okay, you know, I can I can do this. And um yeah, I I needed things to go a little bit my way as well. Uh I mean, these two guys, uh Dan Bradbury and uh Jaden, they played so well today. They kept pushing me and uh I’m just really glad that I was able to keep them at arms length in the end. 18 months ago, you weren’t even a winner on the Hotel Planet Tour. You won the Grand Final. Now you’re two-time win on the DP World Tour and you’re off to the PJ tour. How proud of yourself are you on the journey you’ve come on? Uh very proud of myself. Uh very proud of my whole team as well. Uh you know, I’m very demanding and uh you know, they um they help me out the best that they can. Just ask my caddy. Um, but yeah, I’m definitely proud of myself and I’m happy to be to be able to say that. Christopher, that was a quite incredible win. Enjoy the celebrations. Thank you very much. Thank you. 1. Bruttissimo ultimo giro di Reitan, anche se il torneo lo aveva vinto con il giro di ieri.
    Complimenti per la vittoria.

  2. Whoever edited these highlights should have considered that the closing few holes matter most on a close finish.

  3. Man, what the heck happened to Van Tonder!? 😅

Also, 4 days and not one shot from Molinari who had a good tournament and was in the top 5 at one point. Spread the love around just a little? 😊

Reitan almost gave it away, but I'm glad he pulled it out in the end. Probably a more stressful day than he wanted.

  4. It's easier to win from behind than when you are ahead. When you are chasing there is no fear, when you are leading you worried about the guys chasing you. You also end up trying to protect the lead and you end up not playing as you would when you are chasing

  5. I agree with other comments on this page, that the editing was a bit strange and considering Dan Bradbury is a past winner I do not understand why you did not show more of his birdies.
