The Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia is gearing up for an action-packed start to 2026, headlined by a significant return to a famous New Zealand links course and a comprehensive broadcast deal.
The Tour’s highly anticipated first stop on New Zealand soil will see the Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club host the New Zealand PGA Championship from February 19–22. This marks a notable moment, as the famed links course, located north of Wellington, last welcomed the Tour in 2002 when Craig Parry claimed the New Zealand Open over a field that notably featured then-world No. 1 Tiger Woods. Paraparaumu Beach also previously staged the NZ PGA Championship back in 1959.
Premier Golf Broadcast in New Zealand
In a move that confirms the New Zealand PGA Championship as one of Australasia’s premier golfing events, the championship will be broadcast on Sky Sport in New Zealand. This broadcast coverage extends across the New Zealand swing and the conclusion of the season, with all events also broadcast on Kayo and Foxtel in Australia.
New Zealand Swing Continues in Queenstown
Following the New Zealand PGA Championship, the season will continue its New Zealand swing at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown, where the 105th New Zealand Open will be played from February 26–March 1.
Kiwi standouts Ben Campbell, Steven Alker, Daniel Hillier, and Kazuma Kobori are already confirmed for the Open as they look to chase down Order of Merit leader Christopher Wood, the Ford NSW Open champion.
Pre-New Zealand Events and Season Finale
Before arriving in New Zealand, the post-Christmas schedule features a series of high-profile tournaments:
The season restarts with four Webex Players Series events, beginning with the second staging of Webex Players Series Perth hosted by Minjee and Min Woo Lee at Royal Fremantle Golf Club on January 8–11.
The Vic Open at 13th Beach Golf Links follows from January 15–18.
The Webex Players Series Victoria at Rosebud Country Club (January 22–25) will see Olympian Marcus Fraser step into the role of tournament host.
Cobram-Barooga Golf Club again stages the Webex Players Series Murray River in Honour of Jarrod Lyle from January 29–February 1.
Castle Hill Country Club continues its tenure as host of the Webex Players Series Sydney with Peter O’Malley from February 5–8.
The season will then conclude in March with the Heritage Classic at The Heritage Golf & Country Club (March 12–15) and the finale, The National Tournament at The National Golf Club (March 26–29).
