I watched a buddy play a sleeve of their gold balls in the fall. Full sleeve gone gone by the second hole. Two fairways hit, one approach just off the green. Duznmatta.

I played a sleeve one day. Pissed of the 3 other golfers, having to look for it every hole. Even bought a white Sharpie to try to give it some contrast, but quickly wore off. Putting with it was cool looking though, if you could keep it in play long enough to reach the green!

Yes I play the colors. This one is one of a handful of colors I’ll only use on a par 3 though. If it hits the green and somehow a hole in one I’m a hero with a cool ball. Otherwise if it hits and bounces into the woods I don’t have to waste time looking and just drop.

I used to use the Nike Mojo’s that had all different colors, I didn’t mind the black. Btw I thought those had the best feel around greens.

I play a game with these and the gold ones with some buddies on par 3’s. One black and three golds and whoever grabs the black from the bag is the lone wolf. If they win the hole they get $5 from each of us.
Golds get nothing if they win but it’s just fun to draw the black ball.

A group of us (6 fourballs) had a black ball per group. There was a prize for which group got furthest with it. The third hole was the winner! Awful to see even off the tee.

Fucking impossible to find. I found one once and played it, I hit it up the left side of the fairway, pretty sure it was literally on the fairway, and I never found it again. Bright sunshine and the rough is practically just more fairway.

I use these kind of balls from vice for practice. That way there are no questions on the practice area which balls are mine and which are from the others. But never would I play these on the course. I have these black ones, gold, egg yellow (Vice’s finest), burgundy red (origin of golf).

Those new purple colored galaxy balls have the same effect. Indoor putting green use only, and you still might lose a few.
My old golf group would have a game where we had one of these balls and each person in the group would take turns playing it for a hole, so I’d play black ball on hole #1, 5 and 9 etc. if you lose the ball then you take a shot. If you birdie then everyone else takes a shot. Make sure you bring at least 18 of these balls. They didn’t have a very high survival rate.

People may do it for a round but no one plays these as their default. It’s kind of a flex to play these. Like you’re good enough to know exactly where your ball is going to land.

I have found a couple of these on the course. One was in the rough, right next to a green. The other was in the fairway. And I actually saw someone playing one. I am sure he lost it soon after.
I haven’t played the ones I found. I keep them in my bag. If someone asks me for a ball while playing this is what they get.

As someone who is red/green color blind I don’t get how people can play golf balls with dark color schemes. I literally cannot see them.
I actually got paired with a guy one time that was playing a red ball. I stepped on it one time when it was in the middle of the fairway cause I didn’t see it.
