will hold off trying to cover it in from left to right and standard operating procedure for Scotty Sheffler. Yep. Dials it up. Another man reaches 1000 par. That is the twotime defending champion Scotty Sheffller makes it six now shared for the lead. something high which he is so capable of doing. Land it softly on this green going downwind. Yep. That’s exactly what he did. He just doesn’t miss on the short side very often. He does not make that mistake. See if he gets his left to right break correct. Oh yes, he sure did. And there is the first Eagle of the week. How about a 333 start for at the third. Fresh off that conversation on the range with Tiger. These guys are This could get really good. It should break right. Oh, what a great shot that is. Sheer might have some company. Yeah. In a little bit at three now. This Eagle putt to tie Scotty. And he does. So Sheffller has some company there at a dozen under par. Oh man, look out. Absolutely remarkable. My god. Scotty Sheffler has reached a baker’s dozen underpar. Oh my god. And this ball is just spinning like crazy. Has to find a way to get there. Oh, it does. You can hear JJ in the back. Oh no. Get up. Very straightforward. And that’s one way to do it. My goodness, that looked good. No problem. So up and down from the bunker on the last two holes, five and six for Scotty Shefflet at the fourth. Hideki just off the green. Low spot though. Very grainy down there. Short spot onulous. T- shot didn’t seem great to JJ off the club face. Ger, did it? Didn’t. He was hoping it got up, but that’s a heck of a birdie. Now that’s a good confidence builder, too, making that putt. He he and Scotty both laid well back. You’re exactly right. 125 here. Left to right. Breeze trying to play a low draw with that gap wedge. Needs to go a hair. Does Yeah. Boy, that’s a great lead too underneath the hole. Oh no. Give us a break here. That is incredible. Like, are you kidding me? This hole looks like the size of a thimble right now to me. Uh, but he finds it and he gets it. So, he jumps up into that big tie for second currently. Yeah, just flipping a wedge in here from 88 yds. This a little higher up in the air. Doesn’t matter. Oh man, look at those two shots. Those are good with me, Kurt. Wow. I agree. Smiley, his ball striking has been terrific. Ter Green, he’s the best in the field. So, if you thought it might be a runaway when Scotty went to 14 under with all those threes, JJ Spawn has caught him at the eighth as we bounce up to the second shot at the ninth for Septraka. Not an easy one. That water is all the way up just right of the bunker up near the green. Oh, what a good bounce. Skirted the bunker. What a shot, man. That’s going to work out just fine after missing that bunker. This is a great look uphill into the grain. Pass the hole. There’s some speed when it switches. Grain would give him the lead to himself. No. Where the grain really ate that putt up. That tapp means he’s at 14 under par alongside Scotty Sheffller. But remember JJ Spawn’s in a little bit of trouble. Hideki Maxyama his second at seven. Just laid up back there off the tea and a sand wedge for his second. Another beauty. Chef 112 with Sandwich trying to hold a low sand wedge up against that right to left breeze. distance control spot on that ever. Nice. Inevitable, kids. Yeah, nice rebound there, Terry, after missing a short one on nine after the hot start. Bogey on eight, but right back with a birdie on 10 to start his back nine. Kids the eighth has taken its toll today. Yeah, I think the guys are misplaying the win there. Terry’s a little more hurt out of the right. Guys coming up short left and walking it in for you there. confident bogey free on the round today. Alex Noran this second at the par four. Got to get the ball first here, Terry, to get the distance correct. Uh yeah, he did. I think he managed that one well. Uhhuh. Listen for that low spinner. Pretty nice right there, wasn’t it? Everything he seems to hit is whole high. Fax has never seen a putt like that. Seth not happy with that second. Let’s see what he does with his third. Usually when you get harder sand like that, you don’t mind a longer shot than that. That’s not bad. Now Straka for his birdie to get to 15. It’s online and it goes down. So for now, Sheffler has company. And he makes another one and kind of a bounce back. You know, he he missed a short one there on nine, then comes back and makes it on 10 and 11 as we see Hideki at the ninth. Yeah, far from the ball. Low hands. That means he wants to get it up in the air. Love watching watching him around the greens. Short incredible. Incredible. An old we’d call this a blade now, but the toe up in the air. We see that the putter’s always constantly moving around. I like that continuous motion. Fifth birdie of the day. Walked it in confidently. Just nine punts in his first nine holes. Oh, so good. Look at that touch. Look how good that is, man. And you’ve got the grain, you’ve got the perch green. Think back to this season too. Late start to the season. everything else and then what he did throughout the rest of the year after winning seven times last year. He should have the firepower to get there, Terry, if he holds a little cut up into it. Yeah, baby. Go. Oh yeah, right at it. That’ll draw cheer for a man who had a couple of late season wins. This left for birdie. Yep. Nor picks one up there trying to keep pace. He’s not going to miss this one. That was sixiron 218 straight down win. He likes it and he should got a good kick to the right towards the flag. Stick that for Eagle off of that sixiron straight up the hill. Green speeds are such a comfortable pace right now. Oh, and he curls it in. So Seth Right now is tied for the lead with Scotty Sheffler at 17 under. But remember, Scotty has a birdie putt of less than 5 ft. Yep, no problem. Only Blemish is at the eight. So Scotty Sheffller has taken control, although it is the slimmest of margins. A one shot cushion. Hideki now his third at the par five a little bit earlier. Yeah, remember he had to hit it out of the bunker. So he had 162 for his third shot on this easy par five. Oh, he gets that to release. Yes, he does. That’s about five footer for a birdie. And it’s all downhill down grind to the hall. It’s going to be quick. Oh, he’s just lost it. It’s straight through. Oh, not only that, it hits the collar, too. These guys are really fighting, hanging in there. Make Scotty prove that he’s he’s the best every week, which I appreciate. from 28 ft away. So it led by two after the 14th hole and now drop shot here at 18. At 15, Hideki, he’s been all over the place the last three holes. But how about this guy? Another one putt green at 17 under went headto-head today. played in the same pairing with Scotty Sheffler. Shot 64, the low round of this round three. Thanks for watching the PGA Tour.
