They stop play for that?! I don’t love playing in over 100*F temps, but I still do.

How is this even a rule? Bit of personal responsibility surely.

For US folks: in Strathfield, the high was 102 with cloudy skies, wind gusts up to 20 MPH (but showing 7 MPH winds), and low humidity (21%).
Hot, but I have definitely golfed in much worse (I.e. Florida literally anytime from May-August)

Ive come off for high winds before but thats a new one.

Same temperature can feel entirely different depending on where you are on the planet. Like 10-15 degrees difference even. Due to humidity, wind and air quality etc.

It’s been what feels like 4 weeks of high 40’s in Sacramento area. Crazy cold weather for the area for this length of time and this early in the season.

I thought it was warm, but certainly not hot enough to call everyone in. Luckily I was on the 18th when the message hit so was able to finish.

I once played in 40+c temperature in Dubai. I was wasted the rest of the day.
Today I played up at Palm Beach. Very pleasant 31c. 🙂

I’m going out playing today in a hot 4 C winters day with a bit of wind chill factor. Balls flying so short (as do the golf balls).

Temperature isn’t the same everywhere.
The guy that cuts my hair is from Iraq. He said the hottest days in Scotland are by far worse than the hottest days back home. Our hottest days are usually like 30°c his would be like 50°c
The same convo with an Aussie I work with that’s lived here 7 years. Works in London.
It’s the humidity, that heat here is inescapable and the fact the country is designed for cold weather not hot weather. In many dry heat countries, you can sit in the shade and you’re perfectly comfortable.

Hit 42° out west where i play. Have played in 44°.
Not enjoyable. You need to sit in the aircon in the car for 10 minutes before driving home. Luckily it wasnt too humid.

What? I played golf today and honestly the temp was hot but it was fine. Tee’d off at 3pm (Sydney) when it was 41.
I worked in a trade for months hauling cable and running cable through properties, in temps of 42+. Roof spaces are often 50+ and the biggest hazard is being unable to see due to sweat in the eyes.
In comparison golf was an absolute dream! Surprised people would be called in, let me BAKE!

I read the picture before the title and I was about to say I played in 28 degrees today with with a 15 mph wind and I was freezing on the fairways. 40 degrees would have been a tropical paradise

We golf in the Riverina area in NSW Australia, common to have 40*C to 47*C during December and January. The club just let’s us play if we want.
Early morning tee times are obviously popular but many play arvos because, well. they are Australians, and golf is addictive…. even when your ball sack is sending a river down your undies, onto your new chino shorts.
