the ball in towards Rashatan again. Excellent take from Dravka. That’s one thing that we have seen under this Thomas Frank era. Tottenham are not afraid to go direct, play in the right areas, put crosses into the box and not to cause the opposition problems from throwins and crosses. Well, he had the ball for more than 8 seconds and we know the new rule. That means a corner kick.

They need the stop the nonsense. Skip this rule, skip the VAR. Just stop the clock when the ball out of play, and give a 'challenge' to either side. Way easier, way more logical. The VAR in the Premier League is absolutely garbage anyway
We got so used to goalkeepers waisting time by holding the ball for too long, it seems like this rule will stop all that nonsense now. I like it 😁
this is kinda BS -> soooo many keepers weren't punished throughout the weekend
If u wanna implement a new Rule u have to follow through in EVERY game
Thought bouncing it reset the time
They've made their point, and now this rule will never be enforced again
😂
Absolutely daft rule
This rule will last exactly 8 games.
Seems a harsh rule, can opasing players crowd the keeper out?
I pity the GK that does this against Arsenal 😭😭. Giving us free corners! 😭
This rule is a joke
Can’t master the rules you’ve already got!
Don’t make more ones up ffs 😮
Pickford next guaranteed
Ridiculous rule!
More stupid rules from the corrupt weirdos at the PGMOL and FA.
What a Stupid Rule
I thought the rules were always you could hold it for 8 seconds
Should be a indirect freekick tbh
He had the ball for seconds before the count started
Slovakia mentioned🇸🇰🔥🦅
are they going to start enforcing proper throw ins next?
Eight seconds to stop time wasting that is minimal. Fair enough but what they need to stop is the time wasted on goal kicks. They need to be booking keepers the first time they do it not after 80 minutes when they've been doing it all game long. It's such an obvious tactic, particularly in the lower leagues.
Richarlson is the scum of the earth
Best rule ever
I mean, I don’t mind this rule change, but if they actually cared about time wasting and “in play time” there are so many other things they should be targeting.
Makes no sense, holds it for 8 seconds, and spurs take a minute to take the corner.
bro that was 14 sec u count it from when he gets the damn ball not when he stops moving lmfao
That's a stupid rule.
Time wasting is a part of football
A corner kick is so random though. From which side.
When does the timer actually start?
I had him just over ten seconds
What happened to the 6 second rule?????
PEnALTY!!
This rule is thoroughly moronic.
The goalkeeper will potentially be forced to throw the ball into danger just to avoid giving away a corner, once teams adapt to momentary man marking when a keeper has the ball.
The sportsmanship of allowing the goalkeeper to play out from the back with at least some chance, has been flushed for the sake of pacifying a crowd with a stupid 8 second countdown when said crowd are actually annoyed with 8 minute VAR decisions.
I say that as someone who doesn't mind the wait most of the time and has far more patience for VAR than the average punter…
Great! Far too much time wasting as it is
Actually the Elgin City goalkeeper Vs Dumbarton was penalised before this
The rule will be gone in a month
Wasn't Bellingham signed about two weeks before turning 20? Real Madrid announced the signing on the 14th June 2023 and he was born on the 29th June 2003. So he would have still been 19. It was close but surely still counts
He's trying to make sure that the rule truly exist 😂
