So, it was a one over round for Rory Maroy in the end. Let’s hear from him now. Well, Rory, your first competitive round Royal Melbourne. That was about as tough conditions as you can get out there. Bit of a roller coaster day. How would you assess it? Yeah. Well, it you assessed it very well. It was a roller coaster day. I felt like anytime I made a birdie or two, I’d then make a boogie or two. And um it was just one of the it felt like one of those days. It was like, okay, what side of par am I going to finish on? Am I going to be under or over? and ended up being over, but it wasn’t wasn’t terrible. Um, I hit it in a couple of bad spots and then, you know, a couple of early three putts as well. And it was uh but it was it was tricky conditions like it’s not it’s not as if anyone’s really getting away out there. So, um, limited the damage and hopefully the conditions are a little bit better tomorrow and can get after it a bit more. Can you elaborate on the challenges of the approach shots in there? Because it felt like to me there were two, it was a two- three club wind and it almost didn’t matter how far you hit a certain club. It was really just all by feel. It was um I think the tricky thing with this north wind is there’s a lot of uh heavy crosswinds and depending on what you want to do with your shot, that crosswind can hurt it or it can help it. So depending if you want to ride the wind or fight it a touch and then because the fairways are so wide that, you know, the angles then become where, okay, if I was in the middle of the fairway, the wind would be helping this shot, but I’m on the left side of the fairway, so it’s actually going to hurt it. and I got caught out a little bit at times out there today. Um, and as you said, it’s like, you know, you just have to keep the ball down and get flight it down. And, um, the nice thing is for the most part, you can run the ball up onto these greens. So, you that makes it play a little bit easier in the wind. But, um, yeah, it it’s you got to control your trajectory, control um, and yeah, just have a good feel for it. There was so much anticipation since you announced that you were coming down here to play. How was that vibe out there alongside Adam and Minw. Yeah, it was amazing. Um I couldn’t believe how many people were there at 7:00 when we teed off. But yeah, just absolutely incredible. It’s um you know, these are the you know, there’s you know, there’s events in golf that just mean a little bit more and I I think every everyone in Australia takes so much pride in in their national open and you can really see that and you can feel it. Um so yeah, it’s just it’s honestly it’s a it’s a pleasure to be here again. It was great to play with Adam and Minw. They they played really nicely and I’m looking forward to getting out there again with them tomorrow. Well, on behalf of everyone in this country, thank you for coming down and thank you for putting on such a good show. Appreciate it. Cheers.
