Just purchased this Taylormade M6 driver from a well-known online reseller in “7- below average condition”. Should I be concerned with this hosel gap? I removed the head and reattached to make sure it was properly positioned…no improvement.

  1. Theoretically the ferrule isnt important and can be not flush.

But i just had an m6 with the same problem and the head ended up flying off after a drive. Nbd I paid $10 to have it reglued.

    Then my shaft broke.

  2. Hair dryer heat and push it flush. Then pray. Dont leave clubs in your trunk

You probably can’t tell if the shaft is loose in the adapter, or the ferrule is lose. I think it is likely the former. Is the grip rotated to left (counterclockwise)? That would suggest the shaft is loose. Easy to fix, but you do need a shaft puller

  4. That happened with my M4 3 wood. Eventually, the head came off on a swing. It cost about $50 to have it fixed.

Let’s just say I wouldn’t not be concerned..

You probably don’t have to be concerned because when it comes off on the tee box at 100 mph+ it’s not going your direction, but I’m sure your 3 buddies on the tee box with will disagree.
