We Played the WORST Reviewed Mini Golf Course in Town! – How Bad Is It?

Hey everybody. Today just a little bit different. We’re at Boulder Creek Amusement Center in Omaha, Nebraska playing their adventure course. And from what I’ve seen on Google, this is the worst rated mini golf course in the city in the outskirts of Omaha. So, we’re coming into it, seeing how it is, judge it for ourselves, see if the Google reviews are right, see if they’re wrong. Let’s find out together. That is really steep uphill. Okay, that’s better than going straight down. Then I was just figuring out how fast the turf rolls. Fair. Here, you want you can take a mulligan for that one. Since you’re figuring it out for your first shot, you can hit again now that we know cuz I get to see your shot to see for myself. So, we say that was your mulligan. Okay. That time I hit the M. Well, I guess I’m just meant to be there. That’s what it was. I think that’s the exact same spot. I just wanted to stay up top. Was not thinking it was going to get that close. No, no, no, no, no. What? Wow. I did not see that coming. Well, just might want to go get that. Oh god. I was hoping I was going to hit the mat. That’s unfortunate. Yeah, I will say, and this isn’t because it’s happened to me. If you’ve seen any of our videos, if a ball ever rolls out of bounds at the start cuz it’s open, that doesn’t count as out of bounds. You just restart where you teed off from. So, this will still be stroke three. If it goes out like over a wall, it counts as out of bounds. That is ridiculous. I don’t know if that’d be hard enough. I don’t feel so bad about mine now. Yeah, I’m on stroke four. I just want to go ahead and finish this hole because I don’t like it. Okay. If that would have gone around, I’d have been so mad. Well, we’re starting with a five, folks. Oh, no. Dang it. Hopefully, you’re safe right there. Stop ball. Wow, that Okay, I’m sorry I went in. Wow. Well, that went way better for you than it did for me, that’s for sure. Now, okay, so we do have some newer turf on this one and the holes on the edge of the drop off. I don’t think it’s funneling either. I go over the hump, but with how the rocks are all destroyed right there, I don’t know what’s going to happen. Down you go. That worked out really well. Thank God. Going from the super slow turf to the fast and back and forth is really weird to adjust to. Take that for sure. You’ve had a way better start than I have. Don’t jinx me. Oh, the leaf almost helped me. Stop. Okay, better than that one. So, this one is interesting. You’ve got to really sling it. Hopefully, the balls don’t launch out of bounds because of the way that slope towards the concrete. And the hole is in between those rocks all the way over there. And it’s all uphill. If it stays there, that’s pretty good. I’ll take it. Oh, wait, wait, wait. No, no, no. I think your ball hit where the carpet is overlaid on that second set, and I think that slowed it down cuz it rolled over the lip. Like, this surf feels relatively new. Yeah, it’s just layered on top of the other. It’s not really I don’t think it’s really glued down that much. So close. Go ahead. That curved so much when you hit it. Okay. It’s hard to see on camera, but basically where your foot was standing, it’s two layers of carpet, I think, like underneath it. So, there was like it’s like barely sloping down. What? I’m sorry I insulted your turfing on this one. Okay. I’m sorry. You can when you stand on it, you can feel the layer. You said fine then. Maybe we’ll get a hole in one on this one. We got a volcano. I have an idea cuz I can’t straight shot it. That actually might work. Almost. Oh. That was so close to working. It’s not going to be enough. You want to go ahead? Yeah. That was a good two. If that would have rolled out the pack. Hopefully my fives are behind me now. Hopefully it was just the first hole. And so to give you guys some context on why we kind of chose to do this video the way we did is how I people ask all the time like how do we find the mini golf courses that we do and it’s honestly just looking on Google Maps and then I’ll look to see any photos on Google Maps and then look at the reviews to get context. And when we looked this place up this was three of the recent reviews. The course was a mix between Radiator Springs Pre-L Lightning McQueen putting it back on the map and Shrek Swamp. Bring your own bug spray and Greens Roller if you have it. It’s like okay second one. I think it is closed down. And then just went to the course and played with my wife. We didn’t enjoy it because the courses still looked terrible like it did 18 years ago. Never again we come back. She wanted to play for her birthday. I would give it really no stars. So that’s three of the reason we reviews it had. It’s like you know what let’s come in see if it’s as bad as people are saying that it is and if it is we’ll say it because like I said we try to play every course we can. And if it’s not or if anything if it is as bad as people say, try to find one redeemable quality about it so we can give it a good review in that regard for you guys and then you can see and judge for yourself by our video if it’s worth coming out here or not. And it was $1250 a person. There’s two courses here for unlimited play. So if it’s not that bad for the price, that’s not too bad of a deal. I will say so far it is in better condition and it looks like they have done some ret. And those were reviews from a couple months ago. It looks like they’ve done some returfing since then. We’ll see how that carries out through the rest of the course. But we originally weren’t going to play this one because we saw all the bad reviews and we said, you know what? Let’s come and give it a chance. No matter what. Uhoh. No matter what. Let’s come here, give it a chance so you guys can see and judge it for yourselves, too. Cuz it might not be as bad as what the people on Google are saying. And I will say, so far it’s not as bad. Again, we’re only on hole five, but I’d say it’s not as bad as what we’ve read. No, with Google reviews, I was expecting it to be like nonplayable. Hopefully, it stays at least close to what it is here throughout the rest of the course, but overall so far, I’d say it’s a little bit blown out of proportion on Google. Please stay. Okay. And I will add, we are filming this on a Sunday in early September. So, it is the off season, but it is on the weekend, but it really there’s not that many leaves or anything on it. So, maybe the leaf blow before we got here. I’m also hoping now if I start talking positively about the course, the course will treat me good, too. I will say holes like this will be the test of how well the course is upkept. Yeah, because there are two pipes there and it is very easy for them to get clogged but also very easy for them to fix it if it does and it’s the game of is it fix on the weekend I feel like it should be. We’ll see. I heard it go in. Okay, it came out fast, too. So, that means there’s nothing in there. I think you hopped over the bad one into the good one. Wow. Wow. That was cool. Yeah, I’ll take that. I was just complimenting you. Golf course. Why you putting the bad juju on me? Yo, we got to chill. How’s it going? Nice. Okay. Not mad at it. Okay. I will say I do wish they would have I guess that’s where the one person said bring your greens roller like because it’s just laid on top right here. I wish they would have smoothed it out a little bit more, but it is what it is. because then you have to fight your way back over them. Or you can ride it like that and try to make it work. Nice, too. And people do ask us a lot like, “Hey, have y’all ever gone to a mini golf course and like started it, got really frustrated, and just quit?” And we try to say like, I don’t think off top of my head we ever really have. of like, no, no matter what, we will try to play through the entire course and release the video. That way you guys can see to know like, hey, this one was really good. Or like, hey, this one was not worth coming to like in its current condition. It just wasn’t worth it. Which is why we wanted to do this video so you guys would know the same thing and know that we’re not just going to do it and then rage quit halfway through. We’re going to work our way through it no matter what so you guys can see the condition again. Cuz if you were just look at the Google reviews, you probably wouldn’t come here. I will say though, ones like this might be a little bit more difficult with how they laid the turf down. I really know how hard to hit it. And just know also, we aren’t trying to be in any way like negative or pessimistic. We’re just giving our real time thoughts and our opinions while playing here based on what we were expecting coming into it. That’s downhill. At least you’re not having to really go over that ripped up turf. I didn’t hit that hard enough. I can’t believe that did that. Please be enough. Oh my gosh. Okay. I don’t I thought that was going to go around it. All right. Can’t see. Oh, I didn’t know there was a hill on the left side. All right, try a little lighter. Ooh, that was a close. Wow, that got really close. One thing’s for sure though, like regardless of the opinion of like how clean and stuff it is, it’s got a fantastic It’s got a good layout actually. A really good layout so far. Like not too difficult, but just a little bit challenging. And from just playing a lot of courses, this turf right here, you can see how much darker it is on some of the holes we’ve done. This feels like it’s probably put down this year. Like this feels really new. So maybe they are in the process of slowly repairing it all. I will say if we want to go river, if it does bounce out of bounds cuz the water’s not running, you can sit it back at the top on the concrete and just let it roll. It won’t count as out of bounds. So you can go that way cuz that seems like the better way to try it if you want to. Okay. Well, you’re first. I’ll be a test subject and then I’ll decide. It seems better because there’s really not a lot you can do going straight. I actually still didn’t think I was going to clear it. That works. I might go straight. Okay. And just see what I can do. I don’t like it. If I can get it to go on the other side like that. Wow. I didn’t know if you were able to clear it. That was good. And you’re not much farther away than me now. Ah, that did not look like it was leaning. Mhm. Huh. It didn’t look like it was leaning that much that way, man. Bucket of three. Looks like a pretty big hole down there. Oh, yeah. It does look a lot bigger from here. Maybe we get a hole in one with it. You’ve got the only one so far. I already forgot with the leaf. Hit that rock. I am still not mad at it. Hey, you’re not behind the rocks. True. Here, go investigate. Is that hole actually bigger or is it just throwing us off? No, I think it’s bigger. Maybe. Darn it. Please sit. Okay. Obviously, I had stop. It’s so hard to judge between this older truck that’s so fast. Or ah, we’ve got another mystery option. Yeah, I think it goes down here. Okay. I actually bounced over the bad into the good option. I think I can work with that if it Well, keep it going. Ball. Did it make it all the way through? It went in. Oh my gosh. You rolled over the hole. The ball was taking its time. Yeah, it was. I think you rolled either right next to or right over the hole. And if you come out the bad option, it’s sending you way over here. Okay. I think that’s the first hole I’ve beaten you on in a while. We have what was a water hazard on this one. Obviously, offseason, I’m not worried about the water not running. That’s normal. But if you go in it, if you hit it hard enough, you can ramp out now to the pole. Stop right there. Not bad. Okay, I work with it. See, this is my kind of rock. It’s flat rock, so I’m roll over it. Maybe. Oh. Sweet. Nice. It feels like not the best idea. I think I’m going to try to curve it on around the left side of that rock to hopefully cut more to the right towards the hole. That did not do what I thought it would. I hit the mat so hard when I hit that. I wanted to hit it harder. So, that’s a rock I can’t run over. That was definitely not a flat rock. No, that was close. That’s a hard shot. I tried. B, go away. She hit the rock. All right. You didn’t hit the rock, right? Wrong spot of the rock. And I will say hopefully now that we are in the offseason like a few of the holes where it was it was new turf, but you can tell it was just like just I don’t even know if it was really glued. It was just laid down. Maybe now that they’re heading into the off season still, they’ll go in and like readjust all that and smooth it out and glue it down better. Go, go, go. Hopefully. That was a great shot. Thanks. Hopefully after they do all the repairs, they’ll do that because if so, again, it’s got such a good layout. If this course is in good shape, it will be really, really fun. Not that it isn’t already. Oh, we got a flat rock. It’s Alicia’s favorite. Three, two, one. Well, either of us hit the rock. I am you. It’s so Come on, little ball on that flat rock. Okay, that’s leaning that way. I had no idea. Not many courses that can roll over the rock. Okay, that is that’s leaning a lot. It’s like it’s on a It’s hard to tell on camera, but the hole is lifted on the hill. Go, go, go, go, go. That’s really hard. The stroke limit is six. This is five. Hey, you didn’t stroke out. It could be because the other hole had similar like worn turf. I wonder if they removed some of these rocks. Like maybe they’re getting ready to repair it. So they removed them so they could repair it and then put the rock back down cuz this is obviously turf they put down to replace the rock. So I wonder if maybe they did that for that reason and they’re getting that’s the ones they’re getting ready to replace. If I get lucky. I didn’t get lucky. Did I hit Too much oomph. Yeah. Went from not enough to too much. This is four. It’s going to loop around it. This one’s a little tougher. Oh my gosh. All right. Well, the stroke limits. You know what? No, we’re the only ones here. We’ll play it out. Please. Really? Well, that was six. So, now we’re going above the typical stroke limit. At least it was just by one. Ouch. So, five for you and a seven for me. I was really hoping that five on hole one was the worst we were going to have it for me this game, but three holes left and it said no. You could see hole one. So, I could just feel it. I could feel it mocking me. Oh, that was close. At least you have a close shot at it. I don’t know where I’m going to go. Brooks, you’re trying to run over everything. That is definitely all downhill. I think you were making it a goal to hit everything on. It’s true. I’m glad you saw that, too. That was a very lucky spot for you to be. Look at you. Wow. Well, that’s hole. Yeah, we have ski ball. Make in the middle is a one. The outer ring is a two. Actually, no. Zero in the middle. One if you get in the middle ring and two if you miss. I wasn’t sure how hard to hit it. Two for me. No. Me, too. I’m very happy to say that that was a lot better than I expected to be going into. A lot better than I expected. You ready for the scores? Yes. Maybe. So, you had 48. Okay. I had 54. We know you were going to win. I had a five and a seven. It was more of a game of how much. Hey, good job. Thanks.
