Have Srixon Made The BEST IRONS Of 2026 – New ZXiR Irons!
This is officially the start of my favorite time of year. Welcome to silly season. This is the time of year where all the new golf clubs are released and the embargos lift. And today we have something for you which I can’t wait to show you. I also made sure that we could do this together because Shrixen make the best boxes. Today guys, we have a brand new set of irons from the guys at Shrixen. And check these out. So, if you want a set of forgiving irons in 2026, these could be the ones for you. Let’s take a look at the brand new Shrixen ZXI Rons. Now, these are jam-packed full of technology to help your game. I think they look absolutely fantastic and they could be a really good addition to the Shrixen lineup in 2026. Let’s go and test them out on the golf course. Let’s test them for some numbers, see just how good they are, and let’s talk all things Shrixen and why these could be the most underrated irons so far of 2026. So, as you can imagine, these are Shrixen’s game improvement irons for 2026. There’s also a HL model, which is Shrixen’s first ever super game improvement iron, but I actually think these look really, really good. So, very similar model to the rest of the ZXI range. a bit of a bigger footprint, longer blade length, and a little bit of a kind of thicker sole as well. So, for anyone, these are targeted towards a mid to high handicapper. So, Shrixen claimed that these can help you get the ball up in the air a little bit more. Obviously, not as much as the HL, but they can just help. I mean, actually, I think that looks really, really good as a kind of down at the ball. This is a four iron, as you can see. So, there’s a little bit of a big footprint. We can see the big cavity on the back. I don’t think that looks It doesn’t look uncouthed, Bob. Does it? Not like you stood there with your coffee. How’s your coffee, Bob? Is it nice? Let me just take a picture of Bob for everyone. Just put this in the Cuz people always wonder what’s happening. How you doing, Bob? Very good. We’ll pop that in. Right. But for now, we’ll talk about the tech in these cuz it’s very interesting and very impressive. Because hopefully if these can feel anything like the ZX i7s or fives, they could be a really good option for loads of golfers. That felt incredible. Can you believe how good that’s got? So, this is 7:00 in the morning. We’ve come out early because there’s some range. We don’t like getting wet, Bob, do we? That’s the That’s the last thing we want to do. But the big thing here is obviously with the main frame technology in there, that visual tech that’s designed to help maintain that ball speed, but also kind of dampen the sound just a little bit. And it’s fair to say that’s exactly what has just happened with this forehand. We are going to play some holes and just see what we can score with these. But I enjoyed that that much that I’m just going to. So if I told you where I struck that from, that’s done really well. I’ve hit that here. So I’ve hit that low heel and I’ll be really interested to see how far that’s gone in relation to the first one cuz the first one we absolutely Luke the nuked it whereas this one wasn’t quite as good a strike. Right. Can we take that corner on a little bit more? I don’t feel like the offset’s fighting me to go left, which is a good thing. Offset is obviously designed for people who miss the ball to the right. That is frighteningly good. That felt as good as a proper premium forged iron. And there is a forged element to this. And as we get through this, you’ll see how that eye alloy technology again is going to help with that premium feel and everything else. So, let’s continue. Let’s uh play one ball from now on and see just how good these irons potentially could be for me and of course for you. So, some of the technology to make these irons feel and look a lot better. We do have that eye alloy technology. So, that’s a brand new steel with better feel created by Shrixen themselves. It’s significantly softer than the 431 steel commonly used in these irons as well as less dense, which means it’s got the strength and durability what you need in a set of irons like this. Looking at those, I thought the bad shot might be a bit further up. We can see there how Hey. Oh, right, mate. How we doing? We can see we probably lost what we lost there, Bob, cuz the two good ones are side by side up there. You can’t Yeah, I I’ll do it, Bob. I’ll do it. No, you’re right. I’ll do No, no, no, no. I’ll No, it’s fine, Bob. It’s fine. It’s fine. I I’ll zoom side by side up there with the two good ones. And we have lost a good 15 yards on the bad bun there. So, what your thoughts on that, Bob? I like the sound of them. They sounded really nice. Quite like them. They’re nearly finished, don’t worry. So, one of the other things that I’d like to discuss is that V sole there. Can you see? So, that’s designed to help the club glide through the turf a little bit more. I think we need to normalize talking about turf interaction because I just don’t think we do it enough, Bob. Do you? I think turf interaction for me is a vital part of of assessing a golf club and seeing just how good it can be. What have we got here? I’ve got eight. I don’t think I need eight, do I? I think it’s going to be a wedge with these cuz they are they’re quite strong lofted, which I think is a is it just is what it is. When you get an iron like this, which is designed to launch the ball up in the air, obviously the technology gets the ball up in the air. So, we need to battle that by kind of bringing it down with loft, static loft. Easy with a glove on that, but a minute to Right. I said we were going to hit one ball, but I think here we do another bit of a kind of worse ball because I do like testing forgiving irons with worse ball because it does just allow us to see right how forgiving they can be. How scientific is that? Right. How forgiving. Right. Oh, the pitching wedge looks good. This is where I honestly think so. What they tried to do here is keep that that aesthetic of a Shrixen iron because I think you can tell a Shrixen iron by looking at it there. I don’t think you have to look at the back of it. You don’t have to look at the tech of it. You can see by the shape and design it’s a Shrixen iron and they’ve kept that in the family really, really nicely. So, can we get there? Well, I’ve hit that good. I’ve just pulled it. That’s the first shot where I feel like the offset has just brought it over a little bit. It’s certainly enough club with there. That’s 140 yards. Don’t you love this time of year? That’s a good divot, though. That, isn’t it? It shows that the shows that the line angle’s correct for us. So that hopefully will be the worst ball. Felt good again. Felt good. Distance is good. I don’t feel like I’m playing a big game improver. That felt phenomenal. That’s just a little baby draw all over the flag. And it stopped on a dime as well. So a lot of people might think, “Oh, these are just a set of strong lofted irons. They’re going to go miles and it’s just another Another strong lofted power bat. But I’ve hit from 140 yards here a nice high towering pitching wedge and it stopped on a dime. We’ll show you the pitch mark when we get down there for these cuz I think as long as a ball does stop like what does it matter? Like you want to hit it further obviously. Can you kind of fill the gap? I suppose that’s the other the other issue. But I must admit, I’ve wanted to play a draw for ages here. And that’s exactly what these irons are now giving me. Distance control, they’ve all gone exactly the same. And all I need to really do here is learn that I need to aim a little bit right because it’s going to move right to left for me. Turf interaction is fantastic. But we’ll fill those in, Bob. And you see for me, this is exactly what I’m talking about. If I can play a shot that can do that from that distance, for me, we’re kind of getting the best aspect of every single club, aren’t we? You can see we’ve hit loads of shots here and they’ve all gone well exactly the same distance realistically. This is the one that I pulled a little bit and I can say the offset kind of did me a little bit. But if you can hit a pitching wedge 140 yards but still have a nice soft touch and feel around the greens here. Not saying we have got it yet, but I see that just came off quite fiery. And that’s where you start to delve into the ZXI5, ZedXi7s. They do feel that bit that bit softer. That was nice, though. Oh, that was really nice. It’s obviously always going to be the point, isn’t it? The more you use a club, the more you learn about how it fires off and how it actually reacts from there. The first one came off quite fiery, but I’m in the knowledge now that that’s how this pitching wedge reacts. So that’s then how you utilize that moving forward. Are you impress are you impressed by how that looks? I do like the look of it. Yeah. Like I I just don’t feel like it looks like a huge game improvement pitching wedge. And the pitching wedge is always the club. It does look low lofted, but it is low lofted. But the pitching wedge is always the club where you’re like like I don’t mind a big hefty forgiving looking four iron, but in the pitching wedge I want it to look a little bit I think it looks fine. It looks fine. Right, Bob? One chance and one chance only. Now we’ve got the Shrixen ZXi Rons. It looks like a P that doesn’t it cuz things annoy R. And we have a Shrixen Z star. Can we can we birdie one of the next two holes with these irons? We’ll talk numbers of course. We jump on the range and really see some ball flights and and see because the spin rate is going to be the thing that you worry about. But I think for the mid- high handicap demographic that this is targeted towards, does it really matter too much about that spin rate? If you’re getting the forgiveness in the distance, right, a big nice draw around the corner. It’s just like call a shot and play it. It’s exactly what I wanted. I do feel like I’ve been trying to play a draw for ages. Just buy these cuz it’s literally it’s got the offset and it has the kind of waiting and workability to be able to do that. As long as a swing path’s anything like an into out, you’re going to be absolutely fine. You heard it here first. So, that’s another fairway hit off the tea with a four iron. And distance-wise, that’s as good as what I want for a four iron. Usually I would hit maybe threewood or driver off this hole, but you can see we’re bang next to the 150 yard marker. And for a shot that it felt good. It was maybe a little bit heavy if I’m being overly dramatic, but that VT sole has really really helped it off the tea. So we’ve got 150 and we’re going to make use of the A time that we’ve taken that cover off as an A time. What do you think? I like them. It’s it’s because the ZXI5s and sevens, the sevens are the players iron and they look spectacular. They’ve just made the basically the head a bit bigger, haven’t they? Which fair play to them. They’ve they’ve listened to what people want and they’ve given it to them. What do we want? Forgiveness. When do we want it? No. I think 30 jam you can buy them. Right. Ball below feet. Can we carry that bunker toward towards that flag? Oh, go on. Carry. Make the carry. Make the carry. It has come down the slope. Oh, Bob. If that’s top of the slope, is it coming? It stayed there, wasn’t it? That’s where I’m quite So, that’s the shot we’re playing for the score. But I’m quite pleased there because I was worried that because of the offset I wouldn’t be able to play that kind of little fade and I’ve managed to just about play. It did come out. Oh, deer. I’ve not seen them here for ages. The world’s healing, Bob. Right. I was a bit worried I couldn’t play that shot. Can I play it higher? That’s the shot. That’s all over the flag. That’s perfect. Has to be go in. It is, but I will. Yeah. Right. So, it’s not very often I get excited about a forgiving iron launch. Usually, we’d put these in the hands of Brett, who’s unfortunately now probably a better golfer than me, maybe Foxy on his return, someone like that. But I honestly would consider these if I was like a 12 handicap, a 12 handicapper who’s got no aspiration of getting to single figures if that exists because I just think it it does so much of the work for you and you don’t lose that element of being able to work and play shots. Do you reckon we can draw one in off a ball below feet? Oh, it’s just overdrawing, isn’t it? If it carries a bunker, it’s going to be okay, though. And it has. And that is going to come down the slope. And that’s going four feet. It’s literally like cheating. It is literally like cheating. These are very good. Now, I’d go as far as saying kind of so far so good there. I look at how those shots have played and you do learn from I went long with the first one obviously but my mission objective for the first one was to carry this bunker. We managed that we’re what 20 ft although it’s down a really awful slope. The second one we hit pitched here and it’s come back to there. So landing angle just isn’t an argument. Like we’ve hit a really good set eight iron there from 150 yards and it spun backwards to there. So the f last one we hit which I drew in finished here and that’s come back there because of the slope. So we’ll take that all day. We’ve got two really good birdie opportunities and the first one has just kind of pitched and stopped where it was. So I can’t blame too much for not holding this putt. I mean really here you just get knock it down, learn your lesson and hopefully just make your par. Don’t you? Greens have had a bit of work, so we’re not overly bothered. Just get that going down the hill. Hopefully, it takes a left. Tries to. Tries to. Oh my god. And when the day is going this well for you, don’t worry about it. Right. The joys of winter golf. 100 yards. This is actually It’s perfect. So, I wanted to test the pitching wedge to see if we can bridge that gap between 140 and what’s obviously going to be your next wedge in the set. So, let’s see exactly what we do have and just see what we can play it as. We’ve got 111 playing 111. Am I allowed to slope on Bob? I’m allowed to slope on contentious issue. Slope gate. Lots of cheating going on, Bob. they in the world. All right. Saying that when this has gone out, no one remember uh 111. What I don’t want here is to try and play this 111 and it go 1201 130 all over it. I’m I’m struggling to find anything that these irons can’t do. cuz they sound and feel as good as anything. And I think distance-wise they’re pretty much on the nose. Let’s go and see where these are finished. And that’s the first loose one. And discuss why you’d have these in the bag or not. Oh, it spun down the slope. That one Bob spun down the slope. So, distance-wise, quite happy with all of those. The balls have stopped and spun back. As you can see, this one spun back fully off the green, but the flag’s on a bit of a perch. So, I’m not overly worried about that. I’m not too close to it. And I really think that these could be a viable option for lots of golfers in 20126. Guys, if you’ve enjoyed that video, please hit that subscribe button below. Lots of new product stuff coming your way in the new year. Thank you for the support so far and we’ll see you all very very soon. Tomorrow actually, same time. Don’t be late. Bye. So, as I mentioned in the video, I very rarely get excited about testing new forgiving irons, but I must admit on first glance at these, the way that Stricken have managed to make them, the way they managed to forge them, and the way they make them feel. Tell you what, they feel fantastic. Then, I honestly feel like these could be a fantastic option for so many golfers around the world moving forward into 2026, which is only a month away. And that is absolutely frightening. But the numbers kept getting better and better. The ball flights were getting better and better. The feel on these clubs, the more I hit them was getting better and better. And some of the skinny shots that I hit actually still went the distance that I would want them to go for a full shot. So for me, I found that really interesting. One of the things I quite enjoyed was I was getting that nice little draw shape as well, which I’ve been trying to get for the last, I’m not going to lie, 6 to 12 months. And these clubs just seem to have helped me do that with that mainframe technology and of course how those clubs are designed to look. So realistically when it does come to the numbers, let’s take a look because that was a club 12 with a four eyeir that on a numbers test. Sad. Throughout the bag, yes, these are powerful irons and yes, they are designed to go a long way, but they’ve not gone a stupid long way and they’re not embarrassingly long. The spin rates are quite good. I do think you’ll be able to get some decent approach play with them and get some good control. Pitching wedge 139, eight iron 162. That eight iron is nearly a seven iron number for me, but we are generating really good ball speed and not a bad spin rate in the low 6,000s. The 4 iron I could just have as a driving iron because that felt absolutely brilliant. And that’s gone 221 yards total, spinning at over 4,000. So quite remarkable really.

I’m never this early! So excited for release season!
I want to get a set of these!
I have the zxi 4 set which I love so looking forward to trying these zxi r in January 😊
Sweet! Will you be giving these away James? Pretty please …pretty please …
I love the looks of these.
James, I have been watching you for several years and I love seeing you hit these Game Improvement irons (P790, Takomo 101, Elevens …) do well and then go back to a CB, MB or RORY/Tiger set. and complain about a poor shot.
What shaft do these have in them?
I'm a low handicapper but a lover of chunkier irons, these intrigue me. I would consider them but I'd wait 12 months or more for them to come down in price OR wait for a used set. I would also like to give a shout out to the Ben Hogan Legend irons which look like a rival of these and have a fully forged face in a hollow body head and are only £ 800.00 brand new for a 5-PW set. They also have a V-Sole design, similar to Srixon. I might be a lower handicapper but why struggle to make the perfect contact on every shot by playing a smaller headed fully forged club, play a club more like this especially in the 4 to 7/8 iron then use the more compact clubs for the 130-150 yards distance in to the green. They look fantastic though and Srixon seem to be on top of their game at the moment 🙂
Are these late to the party in terms of competition without offering much differentiation? (Unless they are cheaper) Do these have enough appeal for someone to switch to them?
Those irons are amazing looking!! As a high handicapper… I have always thought sirxon was not for me.. maybe one day I will have these in my bag.
I have had my eye on the Srixon lineup since zxi# came out. Just gone through complete swing rebuild this year. Next year is Srixon time I think
These irons are the Cleveland zip core irons . Cleveland is done and Srixon took off and ran with them . Look at both of them side by side they’re identical
Looks similar to what the Cleveland Zipcore irons were.
Are they more forgiving bigger then the zxi4 🤷
They look to be a great set of clubs. I bought a 2nd hand set of Cleveland Zipcore earlier this year, which has a lot of the same tech as these (sister company of course). I’m really enjoying my Zipcore clubs, so if these Srixon’s are even better, then they will be a great choice. How much James?
