Kai Trump, granddaughter of President Donald Trump, is preparing to serve as a ‘guest commentator’ for the upcoming Golf Channel Games, following her appearance at last month’s LPGA Tour event at The Annika. The made-for-TV golf competition will feature teams captained by Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.

Set to air live on 17 December across both the Golf Channel and USA Network — networks transitioning from NBCUniversal to a restructured entity called Versant — the broadcast will also include PGA Tour professional Keith Mitchell partnering with Steve Sands for analysis, while Anna Jackson and Johnson Wagner handle pre and post-event coverage.

The showdown takes place at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida — making it a natural fit for Kai to join the commentary booth. The 18-year-old has built a substantial following on golf social media and has committed to the University of Miami, where she’ll launch her college golf career next year.

Though she placed last in an LPGA Tour competition last month, Kai showed resilience. Her opening round of 83 left her four strokes above the next-lowest score, reports the Mirror.

But the second round saw significant improvement with a 75, matching the day’s score from two-time major winner Lilia Vu.

Looking back at her LPGA tour experience, Kai admitted: “The first day, I’ve never been more nervous.

“That was like the [Republican National Convention] times 30. It was very nerve-racking.

“For the nerves, I played well the first day. Then, the second day I kind of went out there and was like, ‘Ok, no more nerves.’

“The nerves weren’t as bad and I did really well. So, I mean, it was a great experience. Thankful for the opportunity.”

With an impressive six million followers across Instagram and TikTok, Kai’s social media presence is poised to deliver the Golf Channel Games unprecedented promotional exposure.

While her specific broadcasting responsibilities remain under wraps, her participation is expected to attract a significantly larger audience.

Despite her growing celebrity status, Kai has made it clear she doesn’t allow online criticism to affect her. “I just stay away from it,” she explained.

“It doesn’t really affect me because, I don’t know, I know who I am. It doesn’t really matter, to be honest.

“People say whatever they want to say at the end of the day. I know what’s true and I know the type of person I am. It doesn’t really matter.”
