Welcome to the 2025 American League Championship Series. It is game five from T-Mobile Park. And who’s it going to be with this best of seven now best of three? Will it be the Blue Jays for the first time in 32 years? Or will the Mariners make it to the Fall Classic for the first time? So, it’s come down to three games. The road team winning every game so far, and this ALCS has become a tossup. It is Bryce Miller for the Mariners. Game one was his best start of the season. He gave up a home run in the very first pitch to George Springer in just one hit the rest of the way and went six. Yeah. The one thing I wrote down to look for in this game is watch if he can get Toronto uncomfortable. And what I mean by that is he’s got to move his fastball in and up. He’s got to get in on some right-handed hitters who have definitely taken the outside part of plate away. There’s the breakdown of pitches. And he was very successful elevating. Even though during the year his elevated fastball did not play well, it played well in the first game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Jay is trying to sweep the three games in Seattle, get to within one win of the World Series for the first time since 1993. Mariners have gone from up 20 to two games a piece. Their last chance in front of their home crowd in this championship series. His 22 to George Springer. A fast ball is elevated and cut on and miss. 98 for Miller. Feeling froggy again. That’s going to be the key. In for effect, up for out. Nathan Lucas to hit. One out. Base is empty. They shift him toward first, but Suarez plays in at third base. Fires 22. Sticks with it. Popped up. Suarez down the line. Rosarena comes on and Suarez check catches it twice. Little double catch there for the second out of the first inning. He had to cover a lot of ground. This is a great play. This at bat right here will tell me a lot about Bryce Miller and his approach against Vlad Guerrero. Guerrero strokes one to left center field that’s headed for the gap up against the wall. Guerrero seven for 10 since the series has shifted to Seattle. Yeah, and that is not what I expected to see on that first pitch with two outs. Granted, it’s two outs, but this was the time to change the rest of the at bats for Guerrero. He is basically telling you wherever you throw it, I can hit it. And that’ll bring up catcher Alejandro Kirk. Now the set by Miller and again the one two to Kirk swing and a miss. He chased the sweeper. Strike three. A couple of strikeouts for Bryce Miller. And Guerrero is left stranded at second base. And what a start for the kid out of Texas. Bryce Miller and Kevin Gosman making his third start of the postseason. In the regular season, the right-hander 10-1 with a 359 RA in 32 starts. He started game one of the series against the Mariners. Five and two/3s, three hits, two earned runs. Cosman starts with Julio Rodriguez. Julio Chan start earlier than usual here and on a first pitch fast ball. A fly ball to center field. One pitch and for Kevin Gosman. Well, here he is. Cal Raleigh. The historic season led the major leagues in home runs with 60. It was Cal with a home run off of Gossman late in that ball game. Raleigh just one of his last 10. Corks one to deep right field. Back it goes. And it’s off the glove of Barger. Riley’s headed for second. He’s got a double. Wow. Barger almost made an incredible play. He was playing deep when this ball was first hit. There’s no chance. I thought he had an ability to catch it and almost really a catchable ball that he just missed in the glove. He almost knocked that over the wall. Here’s Jorge Palanco, the star of the postseason. swings and misses. Best splitter yet. The league 1 for7 against that pitch in the postseason. One of the benefits of the lineup change is they get Josh Naylor one spot higher. Three more hits yesterday for Naylor and hitting 500 over his last six games. On the ground toward first. Vlatty started it, backs up, takes it to the bank himself as he picked up the two hopper to end the inning. Cal Raleigh with a one out double. But like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the top half. He’s left on second in the bottom half and we go scoreless into the second inning. Well, this next guy, there’s should not be many first pitch fast balls the rest of the series. He has shown you that a he wants to hit the first pitch and b he’s been getting a lot of hits, so mix it up. Clement swats it up the middle, but Revas is there. Leo Revas plucking that ball, taking a hit away from Clement. Outstanding play on a not so good pitch. 02 and he left it right there. It’s a bad feeling for a pitcher and then it gets rewarded by a great play by the infielder and you’re like, “Okay, all right. Can’t do that again.” But that’s a great play. Two out, space is empty. Washington’s own Addison Barger. Swing and a miss. Right three. That’s going to retire the side. Bryce Miller with a splitter. Strikes out Addison Barger. Strike out number three for Bryce. And one, two, three go the Blue Jays here in the top of inning number two. So one out and that’ll bring up third base. But Au Hinio Suarez. So Tino looking to get the bat going along with a few others here in the LCS. Here’s the pitch. Swinging a drive deep to left field going back. Lucas looking up at goodbye baseball. Hey, you Suarez with a blast way out to left field and the Mariners lead the Blue Jays one to nothing on Gino’s second home run of the postseason. Everybody on their feet waving the towels. Gino looking up, pass his chest, touches home and the Mariners with a one nothing lead. And Gino, that’s a way to get the crowd in the old ball game. Holy smokes, what a shot this one way back to left field. Gosman’s 3-2. Crawford takes ball four. First walk issued by Gosman after the home run from Suarez. Crawford aboard. Can zone up. He hooks a line drive right field. Barger comes on. Makes a sliding catch. Man, you never know that this guy hadn’t played right field in a month. This ball was sinking, too. And he did a nice job getting to it. And when he gets up, he’s like, “Really? I’m going to throw you out.” Yeah. Right. You got Careful. He’s touched a 100 with a throw from the outfield this year. Long at bat for Leo Revas. This is a seven pitch at bat for Leo. Making Gauin work here in the bottom of inning number two. And he got him. Swinging a miss on a splitter below the zone. Gosman strikes out Revas, but the Mariners strike for the first run of the game. Au Heno Suarez launches a solo home run on a fast ball over the middle and Seattle leads one- nothing as we go to the third. It’ll be IKF leading off and Andre Simenez on deck. Right on right he offers to Ker Falafa. First pitch hooked down the left field line. Base hit rolling into the corner. IKF around first. He’s into second and right on script. A leadoff double. You have got to be kidding me. I mean this is getting a bit ridiculous. What a swing from IKF. And look who’s coming to the plate. Andrez to first. Caught by Naylor. Back to second. Double play. Seattle writing a different story in game five. I believe it was the splitter that he threw and he hung it and that’s supposed to freeze when you see a line drive, but that’s a tough one to freeze on when you think about a ball being pulled to that side. And a great break for Seattle. Two doubles for the Blue Jays off Miller, but they haven’t cracked him yet. One- nothing Mariners. Tap back to him. Miller’s got it and he’s able to pitch around. The leadoff double brings up Cal Raleigh who crushed a double his first time up. It was his hardest hit ball of the postseason. Wow. Splitter dives under the swing. Strike three. 3 0. You’re supposed to be at a disadvantage as a pitcher. You get back in the count like he does. You got that equalizer. Puts a hitter really in a box. He’s retired the first two in this third inning. And up comes Jorge Palano. Sticks with it and finishes off Palano. Back-to- back strikeouts of Raleigh and Palanco. And now the Blue Jays have him loaded. So a double and intentional walk. And now a walk to Kirk. That’s in getting Harry fast for Bryce Miller. And this Blue Jays crowd is starting to get loud. Been a dueling chance right now as Vare gets set to hit with the bases loaded. This is a great situation to be in if if you’re Dalton Vo. He knows that Bryce Miller has to throw strikes in this at bat. There’s nobody out. The bases are loaded. in his career. Vario hits 321 with the bases loaded and five grand slams down swinging. Got him with a splitter. Great pitch on the inside part of the plate that looks better than it is. And I mean that is a obvious huge outing. It’s rattled foul on top of the plate. It’s a fair ball. A step and a throw over to first base and they got it. Wow. What on earth? How on earth did that happen? Cal Raleigh fielded. He stepped on home and he threw to first base and they got the double play. That was absolutely bananas. It’s a two3 bases loaded double play. Auro 0 for one in the game. A ground out to first back in the first inning. Shot in the line left field corner. It is a base hit and fair cut off before it hits to the wall there by Lucas and that holds Naylor to a long single. And this is as hot and cold of a hitter as there is. He’s been cold for a while. Just 216 the last two months. Pokes on the ground to second. It’s driven by Connor Fa. And so they get just one. It’s going to be tough to turn two with the Rosarena’s speed, but that ensured it when he didn’t glove it cleanly. There goes the Rosarena. Throw from Kirk. Can’t even happen. His fourth stolen base of the CS. Huge jump. Timed it perfectly and this was no chance. Can Crawford come through? Not this time. To the fifth we go. Barger rips a liner sinking in shallow left center and down for a base hit. Jammed him with 96. Barger with a hard turn around first. Goes back to the bag with a leadoff single. Well, they are going to make the move. Wow. Holy cow. Dan Wilson going to take the ball from Bryce Miller with nobody out in the fifth. What are the chances who you bring in is going to have better stuff than Bryce Miller had today. Stan Wilson has gone all the way up the leverage ladder to his setup man. Matt Brash is coming into the game to take on Isaiah Ker Falefa. Kinder Falefa after failing to get the bunt down. Pops it up shallow center field. Rodriguez calls off Crawford for the first out. Swinging bunt up the first baseline. This could be a tough play for Brash Bare hands lobs it over the runner. Jimenez in a great stretch from Naylor out toward the field of play to bring it in for the out. that essentially works as a bunt as Barger moves up to second, but there are two outs. And the Blue Jays have had a ton of two out RBI’s in this series. George Springer coming up in a really big spot here. Addison Barger standing at second base. Two outs. He launches a fly ball to left center field. It’s carried well. Rodriguez watches it hit off the wall and watches the scoreboard change to one run. Three batters after Bryce Miller leaves the game. George Springer doubles home the tying run against Matt Brown. Breaking ball right there down the middle and Springer thinks he might have got it and he knew he had enough time if he didn’t to get to second base. Blue Jays do it again. The 3-2 taken for ball four. He got ahead one and two. Winds up walking him and the wrong spot to do that. Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s coming up. The 3-2 swing and a miss. He just blew his doors off at 97 m an hour. A pair of handcuffs from Brash to Guerrero. He struck him out and he strands a pair. Now you have a big at bat against Cal Raleigh. This is no easy task. Gossman has pitched to Raleigh twice in this game with no one on base, which is a lot different than a runner on first. Raleigh up in a 1-1 game. Blue Jays just tied it. Lifted off the end of the bat to left field. A lazy fly ball. Lucas curls in and makes the grab. Kevin Gosman strains a runner getting Cal Raleigh for a second time in this game. Mariners have gone to the bullpen and Brian Woo is on for the Mariners right now. Has been one of the best pitchers in baseball. He has not taken the mound in a month. And here he is in a 1-1 game in the sixth inning. Alejandro Kirk leads off and pokes the first pitch he sees to right center field. Headed for the wall. He’s headed for second. Kenzone’s throw is cut off. A leadoff double for Kirk and a rude greeting for Woo. Here comes a guy who’s known for hitting the line. Drives Ernie Clement. Bouncing to that real unlucky double play in the fourth and lined out on a leaping catch up the middle in the second. He’s 0 for two. Swatted to right center field. Base hit for Clement. Kirk the slowest runner in the big leagues. He’s going to get there. The throw from Kzone was not close and Toronto’s taken the lead. Alejandro Kirk leads off the inning with a double. Scores on a go-ahead hit from Ernie Clement. Surprised by this throw. I thought he had plenty of time to get it ready and he just had it fading towards third base. Kirk was given everything he had right there. Springer extra base hit in six straight. Five out of six. Three home runs and a double on the first pitch in the playoffs. Oh, got away from him and hit him right on the kneecap. That sounded terrible. Yeah, this one just races in and catches him right on the top of the kneecap as you’re right. I mean, that is sound alone. Oh, Vlad Jr. the MVP in terms of production, but when you add everything in what this guy’s meant as a leader, as a spark at the top of the lineup, you could make a good argument that this is their most valuable guy. John Shider was just talking to us today about how it’s been the best of both worlds with George. You got the veteran experience. has played in 75 postseason games, but also that he’s like a kid. Has so much fun down there and everybody feeds off of that. Everybody else can kind of fall into place and just do their job as they know they got George. There’s a somber mood over this moment. George Springer limps off of the field after getting hit on the knee by a Brian Woo fast. And Joey Lerido is in to run for him and Lero’s in scoring position for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He’s not going to hit. Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if they intentionally walk him here. You don’t let Aaron Judge beat you. You don’t let Cal Raleigh be beat you and you certainly don’t let Vladimir Guerrero Jr. beat you. Like you said, probably sleep better at night even if Alejandro Kirk comes through with a base hit here. But Kirk did smash a double into the gap in right center in the sixth inning. It was the first pitch of Woo’s appearance and Kirk came around to score in the sixth. Bouncing ball. Woo pounces on it. Flips it over to first to get Kirk. Brian Woo hangs a zero out of the bullpen here in the seventh. Okanzone in the box here. The 2-1 lifted down the left field line towards the corner it goes. Lucas is over there and it’s just foul. Man oh man threatened to hit that foul pole. Let’s see how much that missed spot. Dan Wilson’s not convinced that it did. It’s all on the field with foul ball. We have a true future view for a potential home run. It’s just foul. Wow. over the fence but wide the pole by about a foot. The mic didn’t work but reading lips of Marvin Hudson the ruling on the field was confirmed. It was a foul ball. The Mariners don’t lose a challenge. Two two from Var check swing. He went around strike three. He went around strike three. One pitch after he was that close to tying the game in that direction. And Gabe Spire has one out here in the top of the eighth. Very important first out for Spire. Spire facing Ernie Clement. Here’s a high fly ball off of the bat of Ernie Clement. Back goes a Rosena. Out of the track, at the wall, he’s got a Rosarena with a leap in front of the fence and a tip of the cap from Clement. It’s phase two to one. And who knows how large that will loom in this game. I think that gets over the wall maybe off the top of the fence. Brendan Little is into the game in the biggest spot of his career. He has Cal Raleigh, Jorge Palano, and Josh Naylor to deal with the historic season. More home runs than any catcher in the game of baseball. There’s no doubt about it. Cal can tie up this game with one swing of the bat. Here’s a high fly ball deep left field. Did he get enough? He did. Big dumper. Biggest swing. Game five. Goodbye baseball into Edgar Cantino. Holy smoke. The historic season continues into the postseason. The big dumper with a big home run here in the bottom of the eighth inning. It ties the game. It’s the Mariners two and the Blue Jays two. Cal Raleigh’s fourth home run of the postseason. And they’re going crazy here at T-Mobile Park. We are tied at two. fall forward. Backto back walks and that’s going to do it for Brendan Little. Three batters face doesn’t get it out. We’re tied with two on. Sir Anthony Dominguez into the game and he has got a bit of a mess to clean up here. The Mariners have tied this game at two. Runners on first and second, nobody out. And Dominguez is trying to keep Palano from scoring to keep this game noted enough. Gets hit. It’s unraveling on the Jays. Base is loaded. Nobody out. You hit a guy who can’t hit and the Mariners have the bases loaded with nobody out for Au Haneo Suarez who hit a long home run back in the second. And right now all the Mariners need is a healthy fly ball to take a lead in this game. Another 22. It’s another fast ball. It’s driven the other way. It’s got a chance. It’s a grand slam. Get out the right bread and mustard grandma. It is Grand Salami time. Au Hadio Suarez with an opposite field. Grand Salami. Mariners now lead the Blue Jays 6-2. Gino’s second home run of the ball game. Five runs batted in for AU Suarez. It’s the Mariners six. It’s the Blue Jays two. And the crowd is going crazy here at T Mobile Park. Holy smokes, what a comeback here in the bottom of the eighth inning. Five runs are in. 62 the Mariners lead. These guys never give up. They are the Cardiac Kids. Pitcher on the mound. Senior Smoke takes over. Andre Munoz looking for the final three outs in this wild ball game tonight here at T-Mobile Park. Here’s the pitch. Swung on. Fly ball into right field. Robas is right there and he makes the catch and there’s out number one. Mariners looking for two more outs to take a 32 lead over the Blue Jays. Andres Jimenez will be the hitter. 0 for three on the night. Lazy fly to a Rosarena. Two gone in the ninth. Mariners fans are hoping that they get another shot at this and a shot in the World Series for the first time. Lerido up the middle. Crawford so close they can taste it. The Mariners take a game five thriller. They’re one win from the World Series. That’s a tough loss for the Toronto Blue Jays, but the series isn’t over yet. They get to go back to Toronto. The Mariners are one win away from an American League pennant and punch their ticket to the World Series. They need one more win in Toronto. Holy smokes, what a comeback. They did it with the long ball. So, the Mariners oh so close to getting to the promised land, to getting these fans here in the Pacific Northwest to a birth in the World Series, but they need one more win to get there. And this is the most resilient team that we have seen in many, many a year. And the Mariners walk off the field with a huge victory tonight here at T-Mobile Park. Nobody’s going to leave this ballpark for a long, long

  1. Capitalizing on errors to win is a way to win, but it doesn't matter who goes. You can't beat the Dodgers, get out of the champions way

  2. I have been pumping up and slimming down, and pumping iron ever since I was a kid so I can get up a Mariners baseball team on the big league diamond paradise. I may now be past my prime and never be on the base when they do come here where I live to play. A true latitude 57 northwest earthquake world series would be something grand to be a part of. We have built and planted grass, this year we may have lawn mowed our new field thanks to hesco barriers. Temporary flood barriers, so I hope it will be soon. ❤

  3. Schneider better use other hitters, including the top of the order, and mix it up to win if he thinks the old team can do it NO, use the new guys as much as the stars

  4. They ought to do studs and duds for the mariners. The only bad thing about them they think they can just win when they want. That's not the way it works

  6. What happened to Randy Arozarena ? I’m a Dodger fan and the last time I saw that guy in the postseason he was really good
