Crazy what a difference the sweet apot can make on golf ball compression

This Titus golf ball is all out of whack. Today we’re going to be testing the Titus AVX golf ball to see if the compression changes depending on the sweet spot. So, first I’m going to throw it in my new compression checking machine the way it suggests with the logo facing out. And this is going to give us our baseline of what the compression of this golf ball is and like what miles per hour you should be hitting for you to play best with this golf ball. So, it came up as a softball, which means you should hit about 80 mph for this ball. Now, I’m going to throw it into my sweet spot checker. And we’re going to check it along the sweet spot line to see if the compression actually changes. Now, if you don’t know, golf ball compression is how much it squishes up against the face before you hit it. And so when you make that impact, if you’ve got a soft swing speed, you want a soft golf ball to get the most out of it versus if you have a fast swing speed, you’re going to want a firmer golf ball because if you hit with a softer golf ball, it’s going to lose a bunch of the momentum and you’re not going to hit as far. So to make sure you’re playing with the right golf ball, you always want to check your swing speed against the compression of it. And when we take a look at the sweet spot here, you can see that the AVX sweet spot goes right beneath both of the logos. So we’re going to throw it in on that sweet spot line into the compression checker here to see if it actually changes the compression of this golf ball versus where we were just hitting with the baseline. As you can see, it actually did change it for this one. It’s coming up as a medium golf ball rather than a soft one. So, you’d want to hit this at 90 mph, which is a huge change.
