Paige Spiranac was accused of cheating in the final round of The Internet Invitational, hosted by Barstool Sports and Bob Does Sports.
The $1 million tournament, which featured some of the top golf influencers in the country, came down to a 3 vs. 3 alternate shot 18-hole match. Spiranac, playing with “Big Mo” Malosi Togisala and Frankie Borelli, was taking on former Masters qualifier Brad Dalke, Francis Ellis and Cody “Beef” Franke. Dalke, Ellis and Franke won the $1 million prize, winning on the 18th hole.

But during the final round, Spiranac was accused of cheating. She was spotted stomping around some tall grass, seemingly attempting to improve her team’s lie. That, of course, is against the rules.
“I didn’t know you couldn’t do that,” said Spiranac, who played professionally.

Spiranac has remained silent on the cheating accusations, as the final episode of The Internet Invitational has amassed 2.7 million views and counting on the official YouTube page.

The golf influencer had previously addressed the criticism of her performance in The Internet Invitational on her Instagram Stories.
“There’s more important things than wanting to be liked,” Spiranac said prior to the final episode. “But I do want to be liked. And I want to fit in, and I’ve tried for a lot of my life to find places where I can fit in.”
The next morning, Spiranac wrote: “sorry for being emo last night but thank you again for all the super kind messages… I’ll save my deep[,] dark insecurities for therapy next time lol.”

Spiranac’s teammate responds to the accusations
Borelli, a co-host of the “Fore Play” podcast for Barstool Sports, responded to the cheating accusations during their latest episode.
“I totally don’t think that she was trying to do anything specifically to help us win. There’s so many cameras out there. She’s been at this for so long,” he said.
“If you think that something that she had done crosses some sort of rule infraction, then like, I don’t know, people are allowed to have their own opinion. Do I think that she was trying to improve the lie? No. I also think that the footage probably doesn’t look the best.”

Spiranac has taken further heat because previously in the final round, she chided Ellis, saying that it was “obvious” that he had never played competitive golf before.
The prominent golf influencer continues to stay silent on the latest cheating accusations.
