When it comes to the game itself again, happy about the wind
really happy about the win. Really happy about how the guys got at this wind out. When out again, it shows a lot of great
from this team especially where the weather was
at this time of the year and the way teams you want our
team to getting better at this time of the year but man make no
mistake about it. We have a long way to go and all three phases. There were
some good things but then again there are some things that
we really have to get ready to clean. Clean up and
that will be focused this week. And the thing is, we’re not
hiding from those things that when you look at them on, take be like I mean,
we, we got away with one right there, so even though men were
happy about, you know, the results of this this game
and there are a number of things
on that tape that we got to get
better at. And listen, we’re not going to hide
from those things. The players are not going to hide from them.
They know that I’m a challenge them as far as
getting better and also us as coaches. We Have to challenge
yourself and helping those guys and those situations. So now, again, it always starts to me,
making sure that those things are cleaned up. Then it goes
down to the coaching staff and to the players about how they
execute. So, looking forward to getting to
work this week. Got a good quality Pony, who I think is
playing fairly well right now. And listen, we all those guys, you know, we lost one down over
those guys. So look for those guys coming to
our place, going to chance to play them, so any questions. AG what were you most pleased
about special teams wise and and What is it about banjo that
connects with these guys. Obviously I’m you know, former
player. We’re not that far removed. Yeah, yeah. But I think you just
hit it when you said that he is a former player so those
guys can relate to him really, really well. Then he was one of
those guys that was a true special team demon. So he understands how that that that part of our
team has to operate in and out, but then again, I will say this,
there is a ton of belief within each player. On this team when it comes to
special teams. Even the guys that don’t contribute as much on
special teams when I was special teams, go out on the
field. Everyone everyone’s alert, you know because they
know something Goods going to happen either, it’s on the
coverage part of the idea of the team or as, for The
Return part. So it’s an exciting part of the
game for us because we feel like something good is going to
happen. Every time those guys take the field and banjo does a
hell of a job. He man, Kev and J. They do a hell of a job
of really getting down to the details of each person’s. A
job and those guys go out there
and execute really, really well. So, man, that’s something we’re
trying to do in all three phases. You know, the thing is,
I’ve always talked good about special teams, they all don’t
top of their game. But listen, there’s some things
in this in this game that they have to clean up to so, but I’m
proud of way they out. They’ve been operating. Aaron with the breeze Hall. I
this was like one of the highest snap percentages
that he played in his career. I think he was close to 90% in
this game. What was it? That? And I think he played a lot of
third down this week. What was it? That led
to so much essentially? He was an every down back for you.
What went into that? Well, you guys got pissed at me
last week when I’m not playing. Now, I’ll just have one and I know not. Its there are a
number of things now. Here’s what we We know within
this offense is when it comes to the two
receivers, when it comes to Mason, when it comes to the
briefs, we have to do everything we can
to try to get those guys, the ball and this game playing
was really based around the matchups when
it comes to that. So we felt like the matchup with briefs in
certain situations for certain down and distance. We’re going
to give us a opportunity to create some
explosive plays so he was a huge part of what we
were doing when it came to that. And I would say the other three
Dynamic players to met U ad and Mason, you know, all
those guys. And then we have some complimentary plays for the
other guys. Also, which that was really showed up
quite a big record, called some big passes in this game, which
was good. Lazar cut a huge pass that helped us along the way to
be able to get that game winning field goal. So, Melissa, anytime we can try to
get the ball in and His Hands, we know that we have a good
chance of doing something great. Great Aaron. You’ve
talked about Isaiah Williams and the Redemption story and
stuff like that. What what made you want to bring him
back? Because I think everybody thought when he was released he
was released. Yeah. Well, I think I told you guys in
beginning, we were together in Detroit and man, there are a number of
good things that you saw from
him then. And I remember us hoping
that he wouldn’t get picked up when he was when we did release them. In
Detroit thing, we’re getting
right. Back in Cincinnati, pick them up
and he was on their on their squad for a while. I know the background this
player. I know how hard he works. Listen, I know he made mistakes
early on, but I’ve truly believe in this
player and I mean, he goes to show you
that there’s so much outside and
always has no clue on what’s going on here and they can
criticize, you know, things that we do. But listen, I know
that player very well and I know what he was going to
bring to the table so I’m excited. Not just for now what he’s Doing. But as a go for it, how
are you going to help all team? And it’s just not just on
special teams that you can see. He’s a huge part of what we do
on offense to AG. Can you speak about how AZ
and Malachi are coming along in secondary? Say it one more time
can you speak about AZ and Malachi more how they’re
both coming along in the secondary? Listen to, this
is it is critical for those two guys to get as
many reps as they can and I’m talking about true live
game action. And as being young players that we
drafted this past year. So many, every rep they get is
valuable, as far as their understanding of how this league
Works, their understanding of how to play
Collective football within each other, and
make sure structure and all that is, is on a high high level
in there. Doing a really, really
good job. I would tell you that now, there’s some things they
got to clean up. They make their rookie mistakes just like
most rookies do, but They’re going to crash course of how
this league is, and how you have to be on top of your game every week, and listen to the
morons for error made, it’s very minimal in this league. So the more those guys continue to
play the more they can continue to grow. The better, we are going to be
as a team in general take a couple more Aaron earlier
again on Isaiah is you said is a big part of what you
do is that one of the reasons or can you say why Aaron wasn’t active yesterday? Yeah, with And him not being
active. That would be something that me and him will keep
between us, you know, just like I always do when things like
that happen, you know, you guys know, I don’t really speak on those things and the
players know that we’re going to keep that between ourselves, but I’ve said it
before and I’m gonna continue to see, he’s a huge part of what
we’re doing. Now, listen, we talked about it,
we’re going to move forward and get rid of him to play the rest
of the season. AG, why aren’t we talking about? We’re talking to Justin Fields
last week, this and I asked him about perhaps
having he said it was some conversations about having like
a smaller role like a gadget role or Wildcat quarterback or
whatever you want. He said he kind of had mixed feelings about
that because he wants to help the team but at
the same time he had experience in Pittsburgh
where he got some soft tissue injuries going into the game
cold. I’m wondering if you could add some context to that.
Like how how deep did you talk about using them in
that role and what was your response to his response about
how he has? Just just Just like I said with the situation with Aaron when it
comes to schematics when it comes to things like when when I talk to the players I
never let those things out openly to anybody. Listen just as a huge part of
what we’re doing to me if Tyra goes down he’s gonna be the guy
you know and he knows that so anything that we do with him as
far as game prep, that’s we keep those things
inside you know, within what we’re doing. So and he understands that and
listen he’s a Team guy, I would tell you that I hope that
answers your question. He’s the Ultimate Team guy and
whatever he can do to help the
team. He will. Hey harry. You just Mark? All right. Erin the the last
Drive. Did you have a number in mind where you’re trying to get
for Nick? Because you got the 33 and then you went out again and I think you got the penalty
after that. What were you? What was your
thinking there on that last Drive where you want to get to? Once we Out to the 33. I was I
was very, very confident in him making that kick. Then obviously
we had the we have the the offsides penalty and it
got us to the 38 at that point. I think we had like 12 seconds
left on the on the on the clock. When I
think I landed a really good job of not allowing us to get a
quick five year at out. You know, we were trying to get even
when you hit that or ball got to go out of bounds right now and we tried that twice to
see if we Can get an extra five yards now. But listen, man, he felt
confident and, you know, from the, from the 38, you know, so
he’s confident, he’ll, I’m confident to AG, you know? Obviously
everybody, here’s the outside, whether it’s fans, or whatever. Hey, what does it matter if
you’re winning? Now you’re two and nine, blah, blah blah can
you discuss the importance of, you know, continuing to win
these games and and and and what it means to the young guys
and the culture you are trying to bring, you know, The old learning how to win
thing, which a lot of teams, it takes time to do. Yeah, that’s one thing. That is
not even a topic in this building. The only thing we know, is each week, we prepare to win
games and that’s all we talked about, you know? So I have no idea as far as the
losing part that comes outside of this because, man, it’s about winning and the players knows about
winning and And I don’t know if you talk about
that as forwards. Coach listen, we just want to win games
period. We want to learn how to win games. We’ll learn how to
win at the end of the game. We want to learn how to create a gap within the game.
We want to learn how to sustain a high level of Play, We
want to learn how to continue to finish our game.
That’s the only thing that we think about as coaches
and players is man how we win games and how
we continue to build on the process of that, that we have to create the
outcomes that we want. And No matter what the situation is,
you know, no matter what happens on the outside. Yeah,
we’re trying to win period Point Blank and to Method. That’s a mute
question to me because I was kind of asking in terms
of, you know, the importance for the guys to learn, you know,
can that cannot carry over? I mean, you know, no
doubt. Absolutely young guy. Yeah. Sorry about that. Yes,
absolutely. I mean, listen winning is contagious. And then once you start to do
it, It starts to become a and I
remember this when I was at the st. So we want so many
games, it got to a point to where it
wasn’t a question. It was going to win and I had the question
was, how many points is going to win by, you know, and that tends to
happen, once you start to sustain a
level of winning. Then again, I’ve said this a long time ago,
that’s one thing, I learned New Orleans and how to sustain
winning and once you get to that point, that’s when the
players to start the thing, man. Listen, yes, we’re going to win the game
is just how many points will win by or is going to be a
close game. Game is going to be one of those games. We have to, we’re going to win by 20 points.
It’s going to be one games, you have to kick up
game-winning field goal now that becomes the only thought
process and that’s a good feeling to have when players
just feel like listen, we’re going to win is just a matter
how many points will win by.
