#fahrradblog
Yes, that’s the setup now. We’re about to head out into the night and the rush hour traffic. 5:30 PM, 6 PM. We’re going to ride around the ring road in Nuremberg. And I’ve got this headlamp with me, the one I used in the last video. This thing is a real beast. It’s really loud. You can adjust the brightness. But it might even be too much in the city, but we’ll see. I’ve got it with me. And yes, we’ll do it in one take; I’ll ride all the way around the city. We’ll check out the condition of the bike paths. Are they any good? I can’t see a thing. I’m blinded. Yeah, are they any good? How bike-friendly is the ring road, the ring road around Nuremberg? We’ll be looking at all that today. So grab some popcorn, a beer, or maybe some mulled wine. It’s the end of November, after all. And now we’re off. Out into the darkness, into the cold. Yeah. Alright, let’s go. We’re on Wallensteinstraße. Who doesn’t know it? And right here we’ll be passing all the cars. The ones patiently waiting in line. That’s the advantage of a bike. You don’t get bothered by them. You can just zip past. Just like in Bangkok or Manila, no problem at all. We’re now heading towards the Ring. And then we’ll turn right. I’m riding counter-clockwise today. Let’s see how that goes. I’ve already ridden around it once, but I didn’t film it. It was a spontaneous thing to do. Here we have the West Police Station. So, and here’s the Ring. I hope the light doesn’t turn green right away. But I think it will. Let’s move to the right lane. Yes, it’s green now. Yeah, the adventure begins. So, how bike-friendly is the Ring? Let’s see. We’ll take a look. Here we already have a bike lane. That’s something, at least. which now transitions into cobblestones. Yay! Every cyclist’s dream, riding on half a sidewalk like this. All the cars are parked over there. Rush hour traffic loves to get stuck in the jam. Probably only 3 km home. They either drive or they prefer to sit in traffic. Yeah, it’s a lovely 3°C, I think. I don’t even know the time, probably somewhere between 6:30 and 6. Can we take a quick look? A quick stop here at Tillypark. Burger King. Oh yeah. Yeah, it’s empty there as always. Burger Kings are always empty somehow. Have you ever noticed that? Like, there’s never anyone inside. Two people or so. 5°C, 5:42 PM. Okay, green light. Yes! And back on the cobblestones. We’ve already got oncoming traffic, without lights. He had a reflector on the front. That’s what makes the difference. Yeah, I’m doubly equipped now with my headlamp. I’ve already switched it on. And here’s the Inbike light; I’ve already made a video about it. It’s actually quite good. It’s my daily companion when I cycle to and from work. We can turn the light up a bit here. Yes, but it’s reflecting off the signs. I’ll put it back on the lowest setting because it’s a bit too bright. I don’t want to bother the drivers. We don’t want that. Something might happen. Besides, it’s well-lit in the city anyway, but I put it on. I wanted to try it out. You can take a look. There are Black Friday deals at the moment. I think, I’m not entirely sure. I think it’s only €40 or €35 instead of €60 or something. I’ll have to check. I’ll link the stuff below. Ah, right. Probably the first longer wait here. This is going to take a while. Now we have to go over here. And then turn left. Where the cars drive now, over 12 traffic lights. Oh, it’s green already. What’s this? Calomet? Looks like a café. But it says Canon. Canon. The camera, the photography brand. What’s in there? Oh, it’s a showroom. It looked like a café before. Ah yes, okay. I don’t know if you can see it on the camera? I’ll have to hold it here for a bit. That’s how you should see it. Yes, until it turns green, I can have a look. I hope the angle is right. I’ve strapped the Insta 360 on backwards now. We can see a bit of it here, but with my bent-over position on the handlebars, the viewing angle should be just right. It’s also in the meantime. No, it hasn’t turned green yet. But only when I’ve gone through red. That bastard over there, the guy walking. Yeah, just look at him! Yeah, I think it’s fine, right? I just have to bend down a bit when I’m standing still so the angle is somewhat right. But when I’m on the bike, it’s okay. I’m stopping obediently at red lights here. Always conscientious. Onward with the program. I don’t know why the radar keeps beeping? What’s wrong with it? It’s constantly beeping; I hope the beeping isn’t too annoying, but that’s just the cars behind it being detected, and yeah, that thing is very talkative. So, yeah, now we’re already in Schweinau. Aren’t the neighborhood names here in Nuremberg pretty cool? We have Schweinau, Eibach, Lauf am Holz… some of the names are quite funny. Yes, it’s windy. I hope everything works. I’ve switched on the external microphone. It should work, but the wind is always quite strong in my ears. And I’m always a bit worried about whether the microphone will work, but afterwards it always sounds wonderful. Green for cyclists, red for cars. That’s how I like it. We go first. Oh, there was a big pane of glass. Yes, the bike path kind of ends there, and then it continues on the sidewalk. So we’ll just ride on the sidewalk here , hoping that no one gets in my way. But they’re all just following their noses. So, what do we have here? Blue lights. Something’s going on again. Green too. Perfect. Oh, police, police. By the way, standing here in the middle of the sidewalk is forbidden. You’re not allowed to stand here. What’s the deal with that? They can do whatever they want here. So, we’ll continue along this path. Yeah, what’s this? Shared bike and pedestrian path. Whatever. Careful, it’s really dangerous here. Oh, and here’s another one of those markings. Supposed to indicate the bike path. Interesting. Can you see me? Can you see me? I see you. Good. So, now we’re already in the south. By the way, the VAG (Nuremberg’s public transport company) is on the right here. I didn’t film it, but where all the buses are stored in the depot, they depart from here. Jaeckelstrasse, that’s where the VAG is. Okay, under the underpass and up ahead it goes again past Mr. Wash. Through the puddle here. So far it’s… it’s passable, but it’s not a nice place to ride. This bouncing over these cobblestones isn’t exactly ideal. Here’s Mr. Wash. State-of-the-art car wash. The guys with the cleanest cars always drive in there, and I always wonder why they get their cars washed. It’s always sparkling and flashing. Ah yes, green. Yes, it’s always very funny to watch. I always come along in this ultra-dirty car, and in front of me, someone has a car that looks like it’s just been bought. But he has to go through the car wash . The German’s favorite thing. His trusty old thing. So, here’s Stadler. That’s more interesting. Stadler Two-Wheelers, worst workshop ever, but a huge selection. If you know exactly what you want and what you’re looking for, you’re in good hands here. I wouldn’t get my bike repaired here, but yes, it’s the biggest two-wheeler dealer in the region. I think it’s based in Weiden in der Oberpfalz or in Regensburg. Regensburg is also a Stadler, but I think it actually comes from Weiden. Correct me, write it in the comments. I don’t know. Yes indeed, there he goes. Yes, you really get held up by the traffic lights here. So you don’t get very far. How far have we actually gone now? 3 km. 3 km. How long did it take us to travel those 3 km? 6 minutes. Is that possible? I have no idea. Where are we? Oh, 7 minutes. Gross. Gross, though. Time’s ticking. Okay, it’s green now. Let’s go. At McDonald’s. Hey, last time I drove here, there was a construction site; they’ve cleared it now. Ah, now we can go this way again. I had to drive on this road because it was all construction. I didn’t really know where to go, but now it’s clear again. So, and here we are again. Next red light. So, here we are on the Frankenschnellweg. That’s the city motorway in Nuremberg. To the right, it goes towards the port and on to Regensburg or Munich. And here on the left, we have to go over the so-called ramps. I’ll turn around here. Yes, they always stop and have to wait until they’ve gone through three or four traffic lights before they can continue towards Erlangen or Bamberg or Würzburg. Yes, there’s a lot going on today. Fire trucks, fire trucks on the way, and another red light. Seriously! There’s no green wave here, neither for cars nor for cyclists. You really wish there was a separate lane, a clear one, like they have in the Netherlands. Something like a tunnel or just separated, completely separated from the traffic. But they can’t manage that here. They just paint some red lines on the asphalt and that’s it. So, I don’t see the traffic light. It’s still red. Yeah. Yeah, they all are. Struggling their way home. So, who else is running a red light? Nobody. And on we go over the cobblestones. Now we’re here at Diana Square. That’s Kaufland. The locals know this, of course. The experts, they know exactly where I am. But I have a question for the experts. Have you ever driven all the way around the Nuremberg ring road? Have you ever put yourselves through that? It’s not exactly an everyday occurrence. What? No, no, I’m talking to myself. I’m filming something, don’t be surprised. She said I was talking to her. People are already giving me strange looks. What’s that guy babbling about? There’s that siren again. Oh, now they have to go through here, right? No, they’re driving onto the Frankenschnellweg. Yeah, okay. But then they’ll be stuck there too. They’ll have to make way there as well. Because up ahead, as I said, they have to get over this spot where there are three or four traffic lights. Mind you, on a city highway, which is also quite something. So I don’t imagine it’s very pleasant being an ambulance driver, especially not in rush hour traffic. People are becoming more and more inconsiderate, or rather, more ignorant. They hardly ever make way anymore, or only reluctantly. So, what you see every day… I drive a lot, you might not think so, but I drive a lot. And you notice quite a bit about what goes on in traffic every day and what’s going on. It’s definitely getting wilder compared to before. So, what’s he doing? Cappo? So, they have a red light, I don’t. It’s getting narrower here. Yes, luckily I still have a bell with me. I can use that if necessary. This one here. Let’s see if we need it today. Things are going well at the moment. So, here we go back onto the road. The MAN truck is up ahead. On the right-hand side after the traffic light, which we’ll hopefully still make. Yes. Here’s the MAN on the right. Oh yes, now that’s a proper bike path. That’s nice. You can ride there, it’s peaceful. I mean, you don’t have to share the road. Of course, it’s not exactly quiet acoustically. What was that? Something was flying here. But now, up ahead, I think things are getting dangerous. Watch out! Car coming from the right. I’m coming from the left. Left before right. Yes. And now we continue here. Okay. Ah yes. Yes, this is one of those spots, it continues here, but then it ends and then they leave it. I think you have to continue on the sidewalk up ahead. Because there’s no indication whatsoever of what you’re supposed to do. They park here and then it ends here. So, now I’m on the sidewalk, where I’m actually not allowed to ride. I couldn’t really drive here even if they weren’t parked right now, because I’d end up stuck to the lamppost. So, street or sidewalk. Both are kind of a pain. Make your presence known. Thanks. Gave a slightly grim look. But I can’t drive here either. I could go left, but it’s more comfortable here. So, we’re at the Sixt car rental. Big branch. Oh, green again. It’s going more smoothly than I thought. Last time it wasn’t going so smoothly, at least it felt that way. So, onward along the sidewalk. The beloved cobblestones. Murphy’s Law. Someone’s coming the other way, someone’s in front of you, and I hit them. All three collided at the same point. It’s often like that in the woods too, you know, when you’re driving on those forest highways, there’s not a soul for miles. Then you see someone walking in front of you. Just as you’re about to overtake, someone else is coming the other way at that exact moment. Nothing for five minutes before and nothing for five minutes after. So, what’s this now? Oh. Aha, this is where we continue, apparently. Oh, did I run a red light? I’m sorry, I didn’t see it, but it was just a driveway. So, here’s a tram, also dangerous because of the tracks here, so you don’t get stuck. And it just keeps going straight ahead. So, to the right here would lead back to the harbor. To the left is the city, through the southern part of town. We’ll continue here. We’re still in the south. We’ll be passing the so-called Z-Building soon, and the customs office too. Customs is up ahead, and later we’ll see the fairground. Okay, my light’s still on. Can you see it? Yeah, it’s not exactly ideal for testing it out here in the city, but whatever. Okay, let’s continue. Maybe we’ll find a spot where it’s a bit darker. Perhaps at the fairground. We could do that. I don’t think it’s lit up there. Can we really let loose here, test out the 4000 lumens? Like I said, I already showed it a bit in the last video. It’s pretty powerful, I’d say. A fine piece of kit. It’s a bit narrow here. But you walk on the right. I can ride on the left. Very exemplary. I’m proud of you guys. Very good. There are still decent people around. Green. I don’t like that either. When you cross side streets like this. I prefer riding on the road with the traffic. It’s much safer. Here you always have to watch out that someone’s coming out and ignoring the bike path. Okay, there’s a traffic light here now, but on the side streets without lights, people like to just drive right up to the road and ignore the lane. Like, “No one’s coming anyway.” Yeah, it’s a bit chilly, but it’s still okay. I think it’s a bit warmer in the city, isn’t it? Customs is right after the traffic light on the right. Here’s a little city tour, the world-famous customs office in Nuremberg. The main customs office, mind you, HZA. And the migration office, I think. Oh, we even have oncoming traffic with lights on. Very nice. Is customs here? It’s a former barracks. Up ahead on the right, is that the same building, or is it included? Probably. I’m not really familiar with it. Migration office, right? What does it say here? Federal Office. Yes, Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. Exactly, that’s it. There ! Up ahead is the furniture store with the red chair, and after that comes the fairground. You can drive again here. This is fine. This is okay. At least it’s paved. Rolls well. Didn’t have to cross the cobblestones here. Wide enough. You don’t have to share the road with the cars here. This is awful again. Cobblestones, how I hate them. Now we have to go slightly left here. Here’s the red chair. Amazing. Who remembers the commercial? Who was the character in the red chair ad? Tell me! So, what’s he up to these days? We haven’t heard a peep from him. I think he’s got Parkinson’s, right? Is the camera still running? Looks like it. The mic’s still on too. Yeah, if necessary, the Insta mic will kick in. By the way, I’m using the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 now with Pure mode. With night mode. I’m curious to see how it goes. In the last video, I had the Go Ultra, the new one. You can buy both, the link is below the video. Black Friday, grab them while you can! You won’t find them this cheap again anytime soon. Feel free to use my link. You’ll be doing me a favor too. It won’t cost you any extra. And you’re doing old Frankpedaleur a favor. So, what’s he doing here? Is he parked here? Fumbling on his phone? No idea. Over here on the left is Alexander Hermann, the celebrity chef. That’s where they all always go, spending a fortune on some food they don’t even get full from. And here on the right is… Yeah, I think we can try it here. Come on, let’s stop for a second. It’s nice and dark here. Oh yeah. So, this is the bike light. Oh yeah, this is good with the trees. You can kind of check the distance. I’ll turn the bike light off now. And now… This is the next level, the second weakest, so to speak. It’s the third level. Hey, look here! I hope the camera angle is right. I need to lower it a bit. Ah yeah, and this is the weakest. Okay, I’ll let it run through. 2 3 1 2 3 2 3 Exactly. And then there’s this mode here. It’s a smaller light, a small spotlight next to it. Next to the main headlight. Now I’ll see what the levels are. Yeah, it’s not quite as bright. That might be cheaper in the city. It seems to me like it spreads the light out a bit more. And then we have… Oh yeah, we have two of those. Look at this! It’s really loud. It’s pretty awesome, isn’t it? Hey, for €35 now during Black Week or Black Friday. You’ve got to grab it. You can also use it for camping or night hikes. Or whatever. Or if you need to do some work on your car in the winter and you have light after work. It’s pretty cool. Okay, let’s go back to the lowest setting and keep driving. So, we’re passing the fairgrounds now and a not-so-nice building from a dark age. Adolf’s Coliseum, which he wanted to build here, or almost managed to build. But for now, we’re here at the fairgrounds. You can already see the magnificent building. That’s where they park the towed cars that they’ve towed away from somewhere in Nuremberg. So, here’s the fairgrounds. Right next to Adolf’s building. What are you building here again? Flik Flak is coming here. Oh, the Flik Flak Circus. Ah, okay. There’s a museum up front now, too. What do you mean, now? It’s been here for, I don’t know how long, how many years already. So you can go in and, yes, look at the whole thing, the whole history and the monuments. I myself don’t think I’ve ever been in, I have to admit. So! Is that my lamp shining like that here? I’m wondering what’s reflecting it like that? Yes. This is also the tram’s terminus. Tram number 6 ends here at the Documentation Center, which is located inside. So this is the way in. And well, you can look it up online. Right next door is the Dutzendteich lake. You can go paddle boating in the summer or visit the neighboring beer garden. That’s probably what most people prefer, downing half a beer. You can also take a ride on the swan boat here. In winter, it’s pretty dried up. Very swampy. You can even walk in. So, this is a great place for cycling again. Now we’re heading towards… well, south… uh, southeast. The stadium of the glorious 1. FC Nürnberg is back there. If we were to cycle along the Dutzendteich lake here, we’d reach the stadium. The beer garden is here. Or we can also get to the stadium by turning right here. Where the construction site is now. We’re continuing along the ring road. Bayernstraße is completely closed. Completely blocked off back there. You can’t get through at all with a car now. You could cycle this way. Yes, on we go. Well, we’re almost there. We’re more than halfway there. We’ve gone under the S-Bahn (suburban train) here. So, this is pretty good for cycling. I think the rest is okay too, well, except for a few exceptions. I’ll show you later. Up there on the Nordring later, it’s a bit more unpleasant to cycle there. Very narrow, parked cars that kind of stick out into the cycle path. You have to be careful that no door opens, and there’s not much space on the left for traffic either. You have to find a compromise. But as an experienced cyclist, you can manage it. So! What’s this now? Just keep going here. Is this the cycle path? I’m guessing so. Yes, to the right is the Zerzabelshof district. Sounds funny. Locally, it’s called Zabo. Just Zabo, because Franconians are, well, taciturn. Don’t feel like talking so much. Just say Zabo. Hey, we live in Zabo. You know. Okay, watch out! Wild cyclist coming. Yeah, that’s okay. Here, there’s even a physical barrier separating the bike path from the road. Not that many pedestrians walk here either. Probably not the nicest route for them. You have space, can ride well, rolls smoothly. Until you’re stopped at a traffic light again. Exactly. Green again. Yes, we often end up back in Nuremberg by turning left here. When we come back from our trips, we turn in here. Oh, and now we have to get onto the road. Not so nice. Here, you always have to keep an eye on the cars. Folded-in mirror, that one’s definitely parked. But with the others, you never know, is someone sitting in there? Are they getting out? He yanks the door open and you’re practically glued to the handle. I always drive a bit close to the white line here so I have enough space. But also so that no car touches me from the left. It always looks wilder on camera than it actually is. He’s driving way too far to the right. I could tailgate him now, like in Back to the Future. But of course, we won’t. Is a wheel coming? Nope, no wheel. What’s that radar always complaining about? I think it’s gone haywire now. When I turn it on in the morning, it takes it five minutes to sort itself out. Okay, let’s go! Past the glass recycling containers with the shards on the ground. Always like Russian roulette. Getting past them without a flat tire and then you’re back on the cobblestones. It’s such an emotional rollercoaster. One minute you’re happy and the next you’re stuck with something like this and it shakes you up. Now we’re heading east. Up ahead is the Nuremberg Insurance Tower. I don’t know if you can see it? Probably on Instagram. Instagram can do that kind of thing. Here’s the little tower with the lights. Nuremberg Insurance. On Ostendstrasse. We often come from here on the right after tours; when we’re heading towards Moritzberg, we turn left back into the city. Here into the city. Coming from here through the residential area . Söder still lives somewhere back there. Dr. Markus Söder, mind you. I’m not going to show you where he lives, though. I know where, but he’s not home anyway. He doesn’t want anything to do with me. There used to be a haunted house up ahead, that’s what it was always called. Does anyone remember it? On the right-hand side. It was a really bizarre house with figures outside and totally overgrown. They had figures everywhere, on the windows and on the wall, and it was really, really intense. We used to come here and look around; nobody knew who lived there. I think it was here. I think they tore it down eventually. Or was this the house here? Not that one there. I can’t remember now. I think it was here. Was this the house? This was the house, wasn’t it? That was the witch’s house. Now we can… Yes, that was it. I think so. Yes, it’s still such an old shack. Quite something. So, it turns out that an elderly couple lived there. They weren’t, um, spirit summoners or Satanists or anything like that, or voodoo practitioners, but rather an older couple. Apparently, they collected figurines. But it looked totally mystical. Everything was overgrown and run-down. So it was a real magnet, an attraction for everyone who knew about it. Everyone always wanted to come over for a bit. To have a look, because you always had the feeling that something might happen there. A bit like Rainer Winkler’s Dragon’s Lair, it had a certain allure. I could actually drive out there again sometime and see if they’ve built any houses. I haven’t been there for three years. I wonder what’s changed. Maybe Rainer Winkler’s ghost still lingers there, who knows? Or maybe he’s moved back into his new house. Yes, this is the insurance tower. Nuremberg Insurance. They’ve completely rebuilt here. Feihl Bakery and Rewe are inside. Is this Ostendstraße? That’s right. We’ve got about a quarter of it to go. We’re three-quarters. Onward we go, across the Pegnitz River, or rather, over the… What’s this now? Where do we go from here? No, there’s a bike lane here. That was funny. Is there a bike lane here? Yes, poorly marked. Yes, we’re crossing the Pegnitz here. On the left is Wöhrdersee, this city lake, I’d call it, with a lakeside promenade, cafes, and all sorts of things. You can play table tennis there and relax in the summer. They even have a small beach. This is the bridge over the outskirts, or over the Pegnitz. So, now we’re going up the only significant hill, if you can call it that. My feet are getting chilly now. I can feel it. So, everyone can see the green? Good. Here we go up a little bit more. My dear mother used to live right here until the very end, until she passed away in 2022. Greetings to heaven. I hope she’s doing well. I have to step up here a bit again over the cobblestones. It’s dangerous when people are standing here waiting for the bus. You come thundering along. Ah yes, back onto the road here. Oh yes. Yes, it’s getting a bit narrower here now. You can already see it. Not so wide anymore. It’s always along the road now. Not so nice. But we’re almost there. Outer Sulzbacher Straße, another one of those main roads. To the left is the city center. Straight ahead is the ring road heading north. We’re still in the east. Carl and Carla.de. I see them driving around here more and more often. A car rental company with Dresden license plates. They have some kind of location here. Yes, there are already a few Christmas lights up. The area towards the main market square is already decorated, where the Nuremberg Christmas Market will be. So, now we’ll plunge a bit more into the traffic. Things are getting a bit more criminal here. Oh, it’s still manageable. It’s still manageable. What was that? Some concrete debris. Loose concrete. It’s always unpleasant when they’re standing on the left and on the right. Look at that idiot here. Dangerous here too. Bus stop. They like to sneak out in front of the bus when they get off. So, who was he talking about? He can’t mean me. I haven’t done anything illegal. Ah! Yes, the way to the Nordostbad (Northeast Bath) is to the right. Indoor swimming pool at the Nordostbahnhof (Northeast Train Station). We drive on and on and on. It’s quite a long way, isn’t it? I think it’s 18 or 19 km all the way around. It takes about 45 to 50 minutes. You don’t really make any progress. It’s constantly stopped. It reminds me a bit of Bangkok. It’s always this cat-and-mouse game with the cars that overtake you. At the next traffic light, they’re all stopped, then you overtake them again, then you pass them. Until they come around from behind again, but not all of them, because not all of them make it through the green light. Big tanker. Yeah, here. These are the kinds of places where you don’t have much room. When a door opens. Always keep looking behind you. Where’s the car? In case I have to swerve to the left. So, this place really needs improvement. Well, they’re already half in the gutter here, some of them. Look at him now. He’s even using the path. At least he’s parked a little bit in the road. Some people park completely in the bike lane. Okay, one lap around. North Ring Road. Northwest Ring Road. Uh, Northeast Ring Road. No, this is North Ring Road. I’m getting confused too. So, this is one of the most unpleasant parts of the whole ring road, I think. I don’t know. Even the spot in the south where you have to ride on the sidewalk is more pleasant. Now there’s construction again. Oh yeah, there was construction. And now what? What do I do now? Which way am I supposed to go? I’m going to drive straight in here, I don’t care. It won’t help. In the slipstream. Oh yeah. And red again. Yeah, what do you think of this contraption, this so-called “cycle ring”? Is it better in your cities? Worse or the same? Is it acceptable? Or just bad, or maybe even good by German standards? I don’t know. I don’t have anything to compare it to in other cities. Are we near André? Greetings to you. That old slob. He lives around here somewhere too. So, we’ve made it through the dip past McDonald’s and Schöller. Schöller ice cream. This is such an unpleasant stretch. I don’t know either. This one and then ahead after the intersection. Golden McDonald’s. Oh no, now it’s red too. For whom, for what? Pedestrians. Okay. Oh yeah, here’s VAG bike rental. Go in and get something to eat. You look so hungry, the little one. Some fries. Onwards. It gets narrow here and up ahead some people want to turn right . And you’re right in the middle of it with your bike and the lane markings. It’s at the next intersection. Yes, everyone goes straight ahead here. Very good. Can we continue? Can we make it? Yes. Very good. Yes, Schöller’s is over here on the left. You can’t see much of it now. Schöller ice cream. Treat yourself. And red again. What’s that driving up ahead? Oh, that’s a Lieferando guy with his e-bike. He has to drive and deliver all night. Intense. Let’s have a race with him. Fat tires. Can he still keep up? Yes. Oh, I couldn’t get my foot on the pedal. Goodness, out of practice. He had a headlamp too, did you see that? The guy walking his dog over there on the right. Yeah, you can use it for that. Like I said, the link is under the video. I think it’s cool and it lasts a long time. Hey, right before left, but he’s pretty relaxed here, huh? 30 rpm cadence. He’s making good progress. With his Bosch motor. Does he have any food in his box? My stomach’s starting to rumble a bit. I could buy it from him. He’s getting a bit too slow for my liking. They always drive like maniacs otherwise. The GfK, the Society for Consumer Research, used to be here on the right; they’ve moved now. It’s not even called that anymore. They made that brilliant suggestion that we should pay taxes on our savings. Anyone who saves too much should essentially pay levies to encourage spending. It’s getting wilder and wilder. There! The road is pretty badly washed out here. Real bumps. He’s turning right, I’m going straight. Yes, we’re not far now. We’re already in the west. That’s the best part. The West Cemetery is on the right. Up ahead, we’ll cross the bridge again, over the meadow. Pegnitz Valley. That’s the Theodor Heuss Bridge. And then it’s not far at all. Then we’ll have completed a whole loop. So the last third was basically right along the road, wasn’t it? The Pegnitz Valley runs right down here. Turning right takes you to Fürth, and turning left takes you into the city. Into the old town. Such a huge, you can’t see it now, of course, a huge green space. Green and beautiful, and they’re always playing basketball here under the bridge. Well, it’s a bit of a crime here, because the bike path just ends. Whoosh. Nobody’s riding at the moment. That’s rare around here. Normally it’s packed. You just have to squeeze in somehow. Which isn’t very pleasant either. Especially since the road here is so bad. Yes, and here. Then you have to figure out how to get on. Oh yeah, well, we’re not far now. Five more minutes. Uncomfortable makeshift bike path. What’s he doing? Just driving on, okay. So, just over the bus stop here. We need to know that, because the bike path continues right here. So, just over the Janssen Bridge. Oh, come on, it’s yellow. That was close. That’s how it goes. 50% my fault, but I saw it coming. So, over the Janssen Bridge. Last climb of the day. My fingers are already cold. This way we go via the motorway. Frankenschnellweg again. Right to Erlangen, left into the city, straight ahead to my house. Ah! Check the temperature. What’s it now? -2°C? Yikes! I don’t know if you can see it on the camera down here. Minus 2. That’s why my fingers are so icy and my toes are starting to ache. Yeah, it’s probably another 3° colder out in the countryside. Dangerous here too. You always have to keep an eye out, can they see you or not? Does he see me? Does he see me? Does he see me? He sees me. This time it was green too. Oh yeah, the next construction site. Can we continue here? That’s fine. What are they building here? It’s a huge hole. A black hole. Crazy. They’re building a lot. Well, now we’re at Westpark. The bridge here on the right leads to Westpark. I go for a run there every now and then. Very rarely, but it happens. The Frankpedaleur on foot. Frankenjogger. Yeah, we don’t even have to cross the sidewalk here. It’s another shared bike and pedestrian path. Yeah, ahead we’re practically back at the beginning. Across Rothenburger Straße and then we’re back at the West Police Station, Police Inspectorate West. Yeah, if you want me to do something like this again, maybe in the other direction, clockwise, let me know. Write it in the comments. I think it’ll be completely different again. Same street, but different conditions and a different route. Then we can definitely make another video like this. You can watch it on your trainer or, well, I don’t know, even on the sofa, on the big screen TV. And then I’ll do it for you even at -2°C. No problem. So, here we are again. Up ahead at the traffic light. That was the start and also the finish, or rather, it is the finish. Yes, that was the bike path once around Nuremberg counter-clockwise. Like I said, let me know what you think. Hold, hold, hold, hold. I can’t even talk about the freezing cold. And whether you’ve ever ridden it before. The locals, I’m turning right here. I’m going home. I’m not going to pick up the camera now because it’s strapped down. Oh, come on, I’ve got to take a moment. I’ll have to free it from the strap somehow. There’s the Frankenpedaleur. Anyway, thanks for watching. See you in the next video. Yeah, just as I was about to say goodbye, the battery died. What perfect timing. I’ve dug out my phone again. So, thanks again for watching. Until the next video. Until then, bye. Bye. I’m putting it away again, otherwise I’ll be in trouble with the cops. Bye.

Hat Spass gemacht👌

Servus. Interessante Runde. LG Tino
A) auffallend wenig Radfahrer unterwegs gewesen
Man halt was machen.
Schrecklicher Fleckerlteppich an Infrastruktur.
