But, Don Rea wears Jordans and got to meet the President.
What more can fans really expect from the PGAA?

Ragging on the grounds crew green speeds is laughable. You either deal with the course or it deals with you. Do you mean to tell me that the Euro team was able to sink more putts on a slower green? What’s the excuse for the Euro guys that play in the PGA week in and out? Come on JT… you’re better than that.
W8aMinuteChester
Justin Thomas should have been at home watching on TV.

If it’s this important to have the course set up exactly as the home team wants it, why wasn’t someone from the US Team there for about three weeks in advance. We get articles about the Captains having close control over the soap the hotels have, but no one on the US side could be bothered to monitor the set up?

A genuine two things can be true at the same time scenario.
1. Ridiculous that the grounds crew somehow didn’t get the greens to where they asked for them to be.
2. Ridiculous to think this had anything to do with the US team losing.
Zealousideal_Way_788
They played the same course. What a whiny bunch.

When you’re a team as dysfunctional as team USA was I would just shut my mouth if I were JT
master_chife
Blame the PGA, not the grounds staff Justin.
The PGA has the total and final say on setup, not the local grounds crew.
It would be shocking if he wasn’t so constantly petulant.
Larrylegend033
Dumb question maybe, but why would faster greens favor one side or the other? They’re all either PGA or LIV guys playing the same courses

You didn’t you ask your orange messiah for the reads? Pathetic simps.

I’ve never heard in any prior Ryder cup a team blaming the course set up on why they lost. It’s golf just but the ball straight and putt well not that complicated.

Supposedly the Americans showed up and only practiced half assed in the week leading up to the event. Playing 9 holes and then ducking out for lunch. The Euros grinded that entire week. It’s clear the euros knew the course better than the Americans. Fucking crazy considering it was our course and our setup.

Figures JT would be whining about something.

Didn’t they get a ton of rain leading up to the Ryder Cup? I don’t remember the greens looking too slow (granted a 12 is still pretty fast), but I do remember them being soft as hell.

Serious question about Thomas, has he become the second most unlikable American golfer not affiliated with the Saudi Tour? I believe Keegan Bradley is first if it matters

What a bitch, they sucked and he’s going to blame it on the grounds crew

Joey cold cuts and JT blaming the grounds crew for their poor pay. Let’s see a little accountability fellas

So… from watching it on tv I would agree the greens looked softer and slower than expected.
The setup looked generally very easy.
They only had 1/4” of rain the whole week, so as a superintendent I can tell you; rain was not a factor. They should have been able to get those greens fast and firm unless he had been overwatering leading up to the tournament.
The host team does get to lay out how they would like the course setup within reason and it does make sense that the US would possibly putt better on fast and firm greens since European courses have such strict pesticide laws, fescue greens, and in places like Ireland and Scotland – a lot of rain – it stands to reason that the euros are better on slower greens than the Americans.
All that said; JT you’re a pro golfer playing with 11 of the best in the country. If you can’t adapt to the green speeds that’s your fault not the greenkeeper’s.
He’s coming off very much as a whiny bitch.

In the time that the European played 6-7 full rounds on the course, there were some players on the US team that only played 1 full 18 practice round

The US team keeps using MAGA tactics, unfortunately. Now let’s blame the weakest. Fucking joke

Relegate these fools.

I like JT but anything and everything associated with the USA Ryder Cup program needs a complete organizational enema top to bottom. They are 100% broken and need a full reset and entire new approach going forward.
reginalduk
Air force one was going to swoop in and shave half an inch off the greens on the Friday afternoon

The euro team isn’t made up of stay at home European tour players any more. The euro team ALL play on the PGA tour, on the same greens as the US team, except the two liv players, there is not really a fast green advantage for the US team anymore.y
