Laurie Canter has turned down a PGA Tour card and will return to the LIV Golf League, becoming part of an all-English Majesticks GC line-up.

The 36-year-old finished seventh in the Race to Dubai standings, making him eligible to play in the US, but has opted to join Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood and Sam Horsfield for the 2026 season, the league announced on Monday.

Canter, who won last year’s European Open and the 2025 Bahrain Championship, comes in as a replacement for the relegated Henrik Stenson, and the decision gives another Englishman, Daniel Brown, the opportunity to play on the North American tour.

“Joining Majesticks GC is an incredible opportunity to be part of a team that has helped shape LIV Golf from day one,” said Canter, who competed in LIV’s first three seasons from 2022 to 2024 as a member of Gleeks GC and as a league reserve. “The league’s growth has been remarkable and my experience in the league has led me to become a more complete player and a multiple winner on the DP World Tour.

“To return to the league with Majesticks GC is a huge honour, and they bring a standard of excellence, ambition and identity that really resonates with me. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to what this team is building.”

Canter played in seven PGA Tour tournaments this year, missing the cut in four and finishing in a tie for 55th at the US Open at Oakmont. He became the first former LIV golfer to compete in a strictly PGA Tour event at this year’s Players Championship, and was only eligible because it had been more than a year since his last LIV Golf appearance.
