I can still remember seeing the Adidas Tour360 shoes for the first time. I’d grown up in a world of rubber disasters that turned your feet into miniature swimming pools in the heat and crumbled at the first sign of a shower.

Then these arrived looking like they’d been fashioned from bits of the ship that ‘allegedly’ crashed at Roswell. They were extra-terrestrial. They were – shock, horror – fashionable. Naturally, they were soon everywhere.

These were golf’s Predators and they cleared the way for everything that’s followed.

It’s hard to believe this was 20 years ago, but the Tour360 are back in a limited-edition release as Adidas open the vault.

Are they still a tour de force or is this nothing more than a sentimental nostalgia-ridden cash-grab?

Let’s find out with our Adidas Tour360 20th Anniversary golf shoe review….

First Impressions

This is a merry jaunt down memory lane, isn’t it? Adidas have unashamedly gone retro here and, if you didn’t know better, you’d think these had been hidden in someone’s attic since 2005.

The black, red and white colours are certainly inspired by the originals and the distinctive three-stripes, that look like separate straps forming around the laces, are almost lit up in neon rouge.

The overall shape is very familiar and that will be comforting to fans of the original.

Yes, there are heavy nods and winks to the past but lift the bonnet and there are plenty of modern features at which to marvel with LIGHTSTRIKE and BOOST just two of the additions.

Slipping them on, the Tour360s weren’t uncomfortable but they were on the tight side. I’m an 8.5 – I’ve been measured – and so opted for these in a 9 but there wasn’t a lot of room for manoeuvre. That has its benefits, as I’ll describe, and I’ve definitely got wider feet than many of you.

Once I’d popped on a pair of athletic golf socks I was certain I’d need to go up a full size.

My approach will be to consider these like I do a new pair of football boots: Go up a size and do the prep work before putting them into competitive action.

On Course Testing

That narrower fit means, at least in my case, that I’ve had the Tour360s on in regular but limited spells.

The premium leather upper is fairly rigid for me right now, and not quite as flexible as I’ve seen previous models described.

It might just be after years of wearing Adidas’s more casual golf shoes that I need to get used to the more compact fit this provides for me.

Yet there remain loads of plusses in the Tour360 shoe. Stability is incredibly impressive. Your feet stay still. There is not the shifting and moving about you may experience in others.

The upper wraps round the top of the foot and the heel cushions into the back of this shoe like a memory foam. The whole thing just screams premium.

Grip is very impressive and this is the most important feature for me by far in a golf shoe.

You don’t want to be slipping about as you’re shifting into the backswing and accelerating through the downswing. There is absolutely nothing moving here as you push back and through.

I tested the Tour360 just as the first winter weather of 2025 was really beginning to bite in the North of England.

It was slushy, greasy, and soaked but they were exceptional in these conditions. While you might initially be loath to subject them to the season’s full fury – they look that good – you’ll be glad you did.

I’m not sure any other shoes in my wardrobe can compete with these from a traction perspective.

I often judge shoes on whether I’m likely to get a full season out of them. I will be surprised if – with a little care and attention – I’m not able to wear these over multiple years. Considering what we put our golf shoes through, in terms of mileage and conditions, that will be another big plus.

Yes, as I’ve already described, their fit is snugger than I’d prefer right now – particularly around the little toe.

But they did spring noticeably on walking and they are very comfortable in the arch. That’s the Boost midsole and heel cushioning doing much of the heavy lifting.

I’m very confident that as I wear them more, and start to ease out that synthetic upper, they’ll shape around the contours of my feet and become easier to wear.

NCG Verdict

You need to understand what you are paying here for and that is a limited run. The current Tour360 25 spikeless are £30 less on Adidas’s website, while there are deals about for the 24 model.

If you’re more into the casual sneaker-style, the Retrocross and S2G Spikeless are under £100. There are some lovely bells and whistles here but you’re paying a bit more for relative exclusivity.

If you’re happy with that, the Tour 360 20th anniversary shoes are no mere homage to the golden days, they are a definite improvement.

And if you’ve not got duck feet like me, you’ll be wowed by their comfort, stability, and probable durability.
