Every Justin Thomas Shot | 2025 Ryder Cup

Thomas really right to left coming up over the slope but needs to pitch this far enough very easy to leave this one short because it’s only a couple of yards behind the flag. This must pitch up on top otherwise it will pull up pretty quickly. Oh that leaves the door jaw. It’s a tough shot for your opening shot in the R cup. Let me tell you, no matter how good you are. And to Justin Thomas, we go at the second. A very simple hole. Uh number two. This is a very kind of benign start. Um you can really get after these first four holes here and it’s important for both teams to get off to a good start. JT looks like he’s just got a 3-wood trying to hit the fairway. They love it. Picks up the tea quickly right down the middle. You can see the ball just kind of splat into that fairway. You can see all the mud that’s kind of been attached to the ball. Back to two for Justin Thomas for another win for the USA. Really very little in this great drive by Tier, but just too far away. Too much spin. So this for the perfect start. kind of left all the way, right? It never really actually looked like it was in. So interesting. Dodged a bullet there for the the European side there. Well played hole. Just you don’t want to give Rumbo and Hatton too many opportunities to come back in this match. Couple of tough leaves down the left side at three. Plug ball for Europe. So Tur has it in his hand. He’ll get to drop it. Pitching into the bank of the bunker. So that’s a break. Sand feels looks heavy to me. Justin Thomas on the side slope. But agreeing with actually to work with on this side slope. So actually he can get this one pretty close. Just needs to hold his balance. Feels damp out here. It’s beautiful. double dog leg par five the fourth Justin Thomas ready to unleash yeah you’re spot on Alli great hole up the hill bunkers up the left side just like so many this week you’ve just got to pick your line and stick to it not much of a penalty missing the fairways but certainly fairways are premium. Yeah, especially with preferred lies. Anthony was a good line. Awkward. It’s an awkward angle. It’s not the greatest of Lee’s the Shambo. Sort of going to kick forward and right. Lie is so so. couple of feet maybe three feet below the level of the green. So he needs some height on this Justin Thomas just to maybe just to impart a little bit more spinning because it can run away from him here. Perfection almost great touch around the greens. Justin Thomas is one little all round player. Justin from the right rough. Not the angle you’d like to a front right flag. Going left. Oh, great shot though. Just left of the flag. Perfect distance. Thomas right to left. Just trying to hold this fairway. Everything cam was away at six. Hard to pick a line here. It will move down the hill. This is for Birdie. Europeans closer just outside left. Back to Thomas. Middle of the fairway. 220. Quite a small little entrance to the seventh green. It’s way left. The door is open for USA down slope. Not a great lie. That is a tough one. Maybe dead straight with firm. Sam, do you like Because you have to make it. If you miss, it doesn’t matter. You like taking a little bit more speed, taking some breakout, or you just hit it your normal pace? 100% normal. I never go the other way. Got to hit the part how you want to hit the butt in the in the tournament. Let’s just roll it in. See, he’s hit that bit hard and that’s nearly 3 ft past. Didn’t take the break. Back to all square. The pressure applied from Tier Hatton’s second shot from over in the trees forcing the issue and a strip of red vanishes from the leaderboard over on the right. Down the hill for Thomas. Ideally, you want to be under the hole. Don’t really want to be past this flag. It’s a severe green. Doesn’t look it, but it is. Hooked to his last iron shot. He’s bundled it slightly, but it’s still okay on the green. It’s a fine shot from American 140. Thomas spinny front of the green here. Just needs to be aware of that. Love playing first into a green like this. Has to pitch this past the flag. That’s a poor shot from the fairway from Thomas. Shouldn’t miss the green from there. Yeah, he’s been a little loose with his iron play. Justin Thomas, left to right, same deal. Uphill, slightly harder putt to win the hole for America. to grab one back. One of the hardest holes out here. 10 similar P. Tough outside chance really to hold that. You just knock that off and get to the next. USA. Justin Thomas from the prime spot needs to pitch this up by the hole once more. A spinny green in these damp morning conditions. Yeah, that’s a great shot there. You can see he was just gripping down the the wedge there just to control the spin. Yeah, right on the right level. That’s a that’s a great great chance. So, the pendulum keeps on swinging and by far the weakest point of Justin Thomas’ game is his putting. He’s really improved from two years ago. Nicely done. But wow, that was an opportunity missed. just wasn’t holding speed. As Anthony said, exactly the play up that left side, it will make the whole 10, 15 yards shorter. So, I think the same play for America here. Just hug that left side and just take it on. Of course, the American team, you know, they’re able to set up the course the way they think is best for their team. And both balls look to be good. It’s Justin Thomas. Loads of loft, loads of speed. But a beautiful one at four. That was really quite difficult. It made look easy. This is simple. Face wide open. Just like a bunker shot here. He will fancy this. There’s no question about it. He’s in there quick. He’s not messing around. Yeah, wonderful. One of the best short games on PGA Tour is Thomas. You can see kind of Oh, I could have chipped that in. I would say at least one will hit the green here at 13. So, who gets in there first? Thomas, wonderful fairway medal player. Can’t miss it, right? Do not miss it. Right down a bank. Hit it. Volunteers to short of the bunker. I think that’s a good break there, Jay. That was a huge break. That looked to us to be going in the longer rough. I think he took that for the team. They need all the help they can get. Haven’t held a putt in a while. just overboarded it a little bit. The rivers run dry for Justin Thomas and Bryson Deambo. Listen to that fantastic crowd. Almost the Europeans are louder than the Americans, which they are, but then they’re trying to keep up. So, it’s 50% really. It’s 50/50 at the minute. Right hand side of the tea. This has only got one shape attached to this. Adds to the spin. So it should be looking long. Wind is off the right. What there is? That’s a super reply there by Justin Thomas. Exactly what team America needed. Even Michael Jordan was happy with that one. Got to place it. Got to clean it. The lie is good. 178 playing nearly 190 up a steep hill. Ready to fly. been on the way front part just sticks on and flies way well well past it. That’s not the position you want to be in on that hole. That came out a long way further than what he was trying to do. This is JT to stay in the match up the hill. He can be super aggressive with it. It has to go. It’s been called the heartbeat of the US side. They need the defib machine right now. Oh my goodness. Just the pace. Captain Luke, he’ll be delighted. Absolutely delighted with us. The first point of the 45th Ryder Cup goes on the board and it goes the way of Europe. A 4 and3 victory to the dominant pair of John Ram and Tier Hatton. Ram proves a 5 and0 in forces. I mean, my goodness, just dominant, man. JT better. So to the right kind of okay Thomas next from the right hand rough. That’s kind of where JJ Spawn was. I saw I saw the shot he hit. So we know it’s not difficult just like that. Excellent shot from Thomas. So back to the first Justin Thomas. This to tie the hole. Good. Missed a few this morning. A good man to get one in. It’s just a half. Yeah, I wouldn’t be at all surprised, Sam, if during the uh the break you he spent a little bit of time on the putting green. It wasn’t good, was it? This morning to the second Justin Thomas up the hill. That breaks out again. Just the spin to perfection there. Yeah, very important to get the start line down the right hand side. Get it coming down the green with a shape, right to left shape. That’s not bad. Just what you’ve got to do when you’ve got the honor on a par three. Both of you hit good shots. Just putting through this thick fringe though. You just we bit of doubt if I’ve got any mud on the ball. here for Thomas. Just a little pitch front pin remember just to bring it to a standill quickly there on three. I love that for birdie. Justin Thomas here. Second shot into five. Probably blocked out by the trees. So he’s got to go up and over it. Just the corner of it. Just waiting to feel where the wind is. Keeps looking up from just under 190 yards. Thomas, it’s quite a long way up the hill. The wind helping off his left. Beautiful blue skies and few clouds showing him the way. Be right. he said and he was right. Oh, fantastic shot there by Thomas. Fist pump. Great golf shot to up. It is to Justin Thomas and Cameron Young against Lud Vigor and Rasmus Hoyard. Justin Thomas on the 6T. He’s He’s going with a three three metal here. Just trying to get on the fairway, I think. Partners on the fairway. So, slightly different play here. Short cross. All he’s after. Plenty to carry the bunkers for this club. Down into the valley it goes. That’s a great play. Don’t think they’re booting that drive, are they? No. Thomas 3wood off the tea. Spin control key here. Pretty good effort. Yeah, I think that’s why he hit the 3wood off the tea. Try and leave a shot that he could control the spin. Tricky portion of green though. Plenty of players misreading both line and pace, including us this morning when we were walking around on course. They’re they’re subtle, aren’t they? The greens. They really are. This one perhaps just from his left. Faster than he might think. It’s caught another one out. Third shot for Thomas on this long par for seventh and he’s played an absolute beauty. Thomas at eight. Five eye Thomas. Mhm. Partner’s in good shape. So, no great dramas for JT. Justin Thomas from the fairway at 11. See if he can control the spin here. Come on, baby. Lovely shot just right down to where John Ram holdled it from. Controlled it beautifully. Justin Thomas with a chance to win the hole and go four up in this match. You’d have to fancy his chances. Complete control. Yeah. Team USA have a real struggle hold that third match. Thomas is right up for it. Four up for Young and Thomas. We will uh go over to 12. And the birdie punt for Justin Thomas. This looks good. Very impressive, a six and five victory for the United States. And as you can see from the top left corner, it is now USA 2, Europe 3, USA. Now on the team representing the United States of America, Justin Thomas. sticking to him. High baby fade from Justin Hop and it sits and it does. Great shot. Four balls on the throw. Very nice. as the volume goes up a couple of notches here at Beth Page. Greens are still really soft. They really haven’t dried at all. Oh wow. Thought for sure that would stick and then come right back to the hole. Those are pretty two pretty kind of terrible shots for the start here for for where these guys are, who they are. Kind of surprised by that. JT hoping to not hit it left with everyone else. There he does. Nice high fade. Great swing. Justin Thomas now the second ball above his feet. promote a right to left movement in the air and he hates it. Chucked it. Laughing at it. Thomas last to go. That’s beautiful. Got a couple of chances here. The United States to win the hole. Thomas first. Just a little bit pasty there by JT. This is the par five fourth and Justin Thomas. usually a great long iron player and he’s not let us down. Par five as a delightful shot from Justin Thomas JT for Eagle the number four. Yeah, just dead straight. Never moved at all. Same compression as Rory there. Oh, lovely golf shot. Another one slides by I’m afraid for Justin Thomas. similar shot. They can’t feel the wind. Stevie, there’s Justin Thomas over the back of eight. Justin Thomas has this for par and the time. You cannot lose four balls at this level of golf to pass even on a long par three. Big big puck for Justin Thomas and the United States. It surely was. It was must make and it was right in the middle. He’s got another Justin Thomas. flat calm now. It’s a beautiful afternoon. Great atmosphere. Nice high cut from JT also finds the fairway. kept the momentum going. 190 trying to hunt this flag left to right. Suits the shape of Thomas. Yeah, it’s a good flag for him, isn’t it? Is it cutting enough? Is it cutting enough? No, not really. But it’s still an excellent shot on this 10th hole. 490 yd par four. This is a hole you need to dodge I think to stay level. High spinning wedge 144 for JT. Difficult shot to control this with a tight left leg. time. Eyes are going up and down. It’s a good sign normally. Great shot on the right level. Great chance of birdie there for Justin. He’s hold some good PS today. Complete calm silence. I thought he had that. That had plenty of speed to it, but just tailed off. Over the 12. This sharp dog leg par four. Long par four. Another long par four here at Beth Paige. Just playing that little cutter. Nearly, nearly. Justin Thomas with a birdie putt. Similar to Cam Young just maybe drifting right at the end, but again, very little just up the hill. Gosh, that looked good for what, 98% of the journey, didn’t it? Thomas next up sets up quite well there left JT gets on his toes though on the down swing probably needs two of his finest to get there JT. Oh little bit of run out of that one and it off the Kush back on the fairway. Sounded chunky. My goodness. Oh my goodness. He’s going for the the full monty here. How big his stance is on such a short shot, right? Like it looks like he’s planning on giving it a big hit. Just kind of kind of a weird awkward shot there. He How about it? How about it? It’s a truly exceptional shot. It wasn’t a difficult one, but he executed perfectly. Thomas to tie the hole. 15 once again. This time Justin Thomas. Good looking swing there from Justin. Great shot. Just short spun it back off the front. Still in a good position for Birdie, but uh won’t be able to mark it or anything. Just dy good there. There you go. There’s one of them. Nice. Nice play. Very much suits him here. Just a drifter. Needs to be close. There it is. Great shot. It truly was a great shot. It had to be hit. Dug deep and found an absolute beauty. couldn’t control the spin. Larry could. And that I’m afraid is that for the Americans. It’s another point on the board for the Europeans. And look at that top left of your screen. They moved to 10 and a half points, the Dreamland. Now on the TA representing the United States of America, Justin Thomas. Justin Thomas, who Keegan Bradley called the heartbeat of the US side, he is undefeated in singles. It’s great. Looks good. High going up the right side. Oh, boys just hit it right in the first cut. Perfect angle into that flag. Good drive for both players. Little bit of mud. There it is. Got some rain last night. So, the course uh has done a really good job of draining, but that rain last night definitely made this course a little wetter. He’s going to have to think about that moment and maybe slightly adjust for it. Massive divot flying in the air. Oh, just a bit short. Ran right into that hill. Advantage Europe right off the get-go. It’s an easy part up that hill, Hunter, as we just saw. We’ve seen it, right? Yeah. Everything that Justin does looks very classic. It looks very textbook to me. His putting just looks it’s like yes, that’s how you should stand when you hit a putt. Stroke is beautiful. Good line is going to go right. There’s Sam. Really good fights opportunity for Fleetwood. That looked good for a long time, didn’t it? Looks like he’s aiming left just to try and cut one in off the corner of the bunker. Yeah, he loves the shape of shots, right? He’s very feel and double cross started at left but turning left. Kind of exactly what Cameron Young did earlier. JT here. Pin high left just in the rough. Quite a bit of green to work with. Rains are rolling really quick even with all that rain. See it trickling and trickling and trickling. Well judged about four feet just short of the flag to Justin Thomas for his par which goes in. Guessing he’ll see Tommy’s as well. Justin Thomas for the half. Thomas has just burned the edges all week. just hasn’t found that the proper combo between speed and break. Falls two down and Tommy Fleetwood is to win at five for Justin Thomas. So close the margins he’s seen this week. But I think that will stay at two up in favor of Tommy Fleetwood, his opponent. I’m go to Justin Thomas here at six. Just off the fairway. Easy flop up in the air. Oh, there it is. Finally, our first deuce from the fairway. Guys have been hitting the flag. They’ve been hitting the pin. Finally, it happened. It was inevitable. this level of golf, these conditions, this course. Great stuff from JT. The ring leader delivering there. Justin Thomas and Eagle, too. Yeah. Downhill. He likes to move the ball left to right. He can move it both ways, but he’s setting up for a cut shot to this front left hole location. Kind of going against conventional wisdom. Hung out there a bit. Good shot though. Pen high. A good match for us to watch. Fleetwood undefeated this week. Thomas undefeated in singles. Fleetwood still has a birdie putt to come. So you have to think he has a good chance of making it. This is uphill left to right. Go ahead and give it some speed. Too much speed for that line. Justin Thomas to tie eight. He should get this no problem. Take his up easily. Margin stays at two. Justin Thomas to win the hole. Lots of fans around this area. You You’ll hear a really loud cheer if this goes in. Oh, he never hit it. Straight in the middle of the cup up the hill. Just a couple of rolls short. Oh, you could see that in his face. That was so close. This was the green that things got a little overly rowdy on yesterday afternoon. Oh, hits it. Shorter version of the rose shot. has to throw this up in the air. Not much green to work with. Very good shot. And that will apply the pressure he wanted. It doesn’t look like they’re rolling the tables when you look at that bottom right scoreboard. A lot of blue, very little red. It’s just a continuation of the great play first two days. Think the Americans are playing for pride, not to win, to be honest with you. They’re playing to win, but you know what I mean. Mathematically is up to 11 down the left side. Ball looks to be sitting up for Tommy Fleetwood. Justin Thomas, beg you pardon. Fleetwood on the green 30 ft away. Three feet away for Justin Thomas. Shouldn’t be much in this. Thomas 18 months ago was really struggling with his putter. He’s been his friend this year. Statistically improved over a hundred places from two years ago. None of that. Two in a row. Good burst for JT. One he was given down the 10th. One he earned right there at 11. 212. Justin Thomas down the left. 30 ft away. Already on the green. Anytime you hit the green at 12, you’ve done well. Justin Thomas hits a laser in there. Beautiful shot. Gets it up on that top shelf after the Fleetwood missed to go one up for Justin Thomas and put the fifth strip of red on the leaderboard. It’s that part of the of the round, this part of the match where one hole up, one hold putt can make such a difference as you start running out of holes. I think this has a little left to right in it coming off that high point of the green that Tommy was putting from. Not much, but a little. A glimmer, a mere glimmer of hope for the US side. Did you have dinner with Hunter Mayhem last night? Wow. You got to believe Jay and to Justin Thomas at 13. One up on Fleetwood pin way back there. Perfect spot. Great wedge player looking to fly it right at the hole. Spin it right there. Just like that. Great distance control. One up in this match. These these greens are so subtle. I mean, you can see the guys are almost trying to find break, but it almost doesn’t exist. Probably just gonna move just a little bit to the right. Not enough. Not enough. Match goes back to tide. I mean, it’s just like they can’t compound one win after another. Just a little left. It’s got to get up over the mound, which it does. Good shot there. Perfect distance. Advantage Thomas on that hole. Thomas Ferdian to win the hole at 14 to reestablish a lead over Tommy Fleetwood from his left. Lovely pace. Couldn’t quite pick the line. Similar proposition for his opponent. Plays 13 yds uphill. or the ball comes in flat. JT of looking left, left edge of the green, kicked right. Solid shot. Not going to scare the hole, but on the green. This is Justin Thomas across the 15th green. Look where he’s aiming. A lot of swing on this one. Can you play the swing just right? Boy, he’s been close all day. Scaring the hole. He’s had great touch. Just heard his caddy say they want to fly about 180 to the pin 198 kind of back into their face off the ride. They’re going to expect a little bit of release when that ball hits the ground. Begging for it to go. Hits just on the front. Triples up a few more yards. He’s got about 25 30 ft for birdie. Goes right onto Hunter. Yeah, good shot. Good shot. Let’s go. Got a little read from Tommy. He’s going to know what it does by the hole. This is a gantry putt in length. He just won the donut over there. Yeah, Tommy’s just don’t go silent there. Not in the circle of friendship. That’s all that’s all you need to know about it. I I think JT expects it as well. You know, we’re way past that to 17. Fleetwood is what about 12 15 ft maybe from the hole. This is Justin Thomas aiming slightly left. He’s looking to start it just left that big tower. Let it fade back. Use the wind. He’s trying to do just that. Pretty far left. He’ll be putting first. Solid shot. We just saw the group in front. You know what it does. It’s tricky. It’s tough. But Thomas for birdie at 17. Pretty good breaker left to right. You can see he’s playing at least two feet out there. Trying to get it to wiggle to the right. Just hangs. Fleetwood will have a putt for the win. Got this much. Well, left. Nice high cut. It’s leaking. Leaking right. Got to stay on that hay. Oh, got a good bounce. Kind of kept it straight just in the rough right there. Justin Thomas from the light rough at 18. a chance here. Keep this really close. We are hearing it is a great lie here. Just 105 yds to go. Well done. The grip. Absolute dead in. That’s for it to go. Great shot. That actually feels like a big moment potentially there between Fleetwood and Thomas and Justin Thomas to win the match and secure another point for Team USA. You can hear a pin drop behind this around this green at the moment. Huge moment for America to win that match straight uphill. He’s got it. He’s got it. This is unbelievable from the United States. Maybe the impossible is starting to become possible. Seven points behind heading into the Sunday singles. They have taken the first two on the 18th hole with two incredible birdies. Exactly what they needed. Bryce is coming up on them right now. Winning the 17th. Coming back in five down with that match. All square. Wow. Look at it again. Just outside right. It’s never missing.
