He’s just earned his first ever PGA Tour card, but Laurie Canter has turned it down in favor of a move back to LIV Golf…
LIV Golf has confirmed the return of Laurie Canter to its roster – just weeks after earning a PGA Tour card via the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai Rankings.
The Englishman played on the league in each of its first three seasons, first as a member of Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks team then as a reserve, banking more than $6 million in the process.
Earlier this year, Canter teed up at The Players Championship to become the first former LIV golfer to compete in a PGA Tour event. He went on to finish 7th in the Race to Dubai, and second in the battle for the 10 PGA Tour cards. But Canter has now snubbed that opportunity to rejoin LIV Golf.

He will sign for Majesticks GC, whose lineup was down to three after Henrik Stenson finished in the Drop Zone.
It means LIV Golf now has an all-English team, with Canter joining co-captains Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood, and Sam Horsfield. He has previously filled in for the injured Horsfield.
It also makes it three years in a row that a player earning a PGA Tour card through the Race to Dubai has turned down the move in favor of joining LIV. Last year, it was Tom McKibbin, who opted for a spot on Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII team, and 12 months prior it was Adrian Meronk, who joined Cleeks.
It also means Daniel Brown, who finished 11th, will be bumped up the pecking order for a PGA Tour card.
It’s the second signing of LIV Golf’s offseason as Canter follows three-time DP World Tour winner Victor Perez, who joined Cleeks, while a number of high-profile trades are also being reported.
“Joining Majesticks GC is an incredible opportunity to be part of a team that has helped shape LIV Golf from day one,” Canter said in a statement released by LIV.
“My experience in the league has led me to become a more complete player and a multiple winner on the DP World Tour. To return to the league with Majesticks GC is a huge honor, and they bring a standard of excellence, ambition, and identity that really resonates with me.
“I can’t wait to get started and contribute to what this team is building.”
