19-year-old Barron Trump is the uncle of 18-year-old Kai Trump. Barron is the half-brother of Donald Trump Jr., Kai’s father.Vanessa Trump, Kai’s mom, is dating Tiger Woods, who is a favorite player of the president’s granddaughter.Kai Trump attends the same high school as Tiger Woods’ children: Sam Alexis Woods, class of 2025, and Charlie Axel Woods, class of 2027.Lara Trump, Fox News Channel host, is married to Eric Trump, Kai Trump’s uncle.
When she was 17 years old, Kai Trump took the stage at the Republican National Convention and called Donald Trump a “normal grandpa,” highlighting his softer side during the 2024 presidential election.
In 2025, the social media influencer with her own brand recalled that experience − and said her invitation to play the LPGA was more “nerve-wracking” than speaking at the RNC.
President Donald Trump’s eldest granddaughter, a class of 2026 high school senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach County, Florida, appeared on “My View with Lara Trump” on Nov. 29, 2025, on Fox News Channel. In a conversation with Lara Trump, who’s married to her uncle Eric Trump, Kai Trump talked about committing to play golf at the University of Miami in Florida, her famous family and what it was like to play in the LPGA.
Below is what to know about Kai Trump.
Who is Kai Trump?
Kai Madison Trump is the 18-year-old daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and former model Vanessa Trump, formerly Vanessa Kay Pergolizzi or Vanessa Haydon (after she took her stepfather’s last name). She is the oldest of President Donald Trump’s 11 grandchildren and the oldest child of Donald Trump Jr.’s five children including Donald Trump III, Tristan Trump, Spencer Trump and Chloe Trump.
In the past year and a half, Kai Trump has made several public appearances since her speech at the Republican National Convention in July 2024 ahead of the presidential election. This is unlike her 19-year-old uncle, Barron Trump, the youngest of Donald Trump’s children, who has made few public appearances since his father’s election and inauguration.
Though fall 2025 marked the start of Kai Trump’s senior year in high school, she already has plans for college − and beyond. She said she would stay in South Florida for college, announcing in summer 2024 that she had committed to play golf at the University of Miami starting fall 2026.
She has lived in South Florida for about five years, playing golf at the same private school attended by the children of golf legend Tiger Woods, whom her mother is dating.
Though she has a famous family and extraordinary perks − she rode to the Ryder Cup golf tournament via the presidential helicopter Marine One with her grandpa Donald Trump and recently competed in the LPGA with a special invitation − Kai Trump vlogs about high school senior life, getting her wisdom teeth out and teendom.
On Sept. 25, 2025, “Kai Trump” became a brand, too: The president’s eldest grandchild unveiled a clothing line, KT or Kai Trump, and the backdrop for the YouTube vlogger and social media influencer was a familiar scene − the White House.
Kai Trump played golf in 2025 LPGA in Florida. How did she do?
At 18 years old, Kai Trump, the youngest contestant in the field and granddaughter of Donald Trump, was awarded one of three sponsor’s invites to compete at the Annika tournament at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida. In November 2025, Kai Trump’s LPGA debut ended after two rounds. She missed the cut by 17 strokes after finishing last among 108 participants at 18-over on the tournament.
“I was definitely more nervous than I expected,” Kai Trump said in a Palm Beach Post story. Her score was 13-over 83.
Her mother, Vanessa Trump, who is dating golf legend Tiger Woods, cheered her on from the sidelines and posted inspirational messages on her Instagram account.
“I’m very proud of my daughter,” Vanessa Trump said as Kai Trump prepared for her post-round interview on Nov. 13, 2025. “She played very well and we’re looking forward to (Friday, Nov. 14).”
What did Kai Trump say about the RNC and LPGA on Lara Trump show?
On Nov. 29, 2025, during the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Kai Trump appeared on “My View with Lara Trump” on Fox News Channel.
During the interview, Kai Trump told her aunt about her future at the University of Miami in Florida, playing golf with her grandfather, President Donald Trump, and making her political public speaking debut at the 2024 RNC. She also played a round of golf with Lara Trump.
Lara Trump asked her niece about the LPGA, specifically if she was nervous.
“The first day, I’ve never been more nervous my entire life. That was like the RNC times 30,” Kai Trump said in the interview. “It was very nerve wracking for the nerves. I played well the first day and then the second day kinda, went out there. I’m like no more nerve, like the nerves weren’t as bad.”
“And then I I did really well. So I mean it was a great experience. I’m thankful for the, obviously, the opportunity.”
The pair talked about college life as a University of Miami Hurricane. Kai Trump committed to play golf for the university in August 2024. She formally signed in November 2025.
Lara Trump said Kai Trump was recruited by many schools, but why choose the University of Miami?
“It really just came down to the coaches,” Kai Trump said. “I love the program and I also didn’t want to be so far away from home, because I don’t know, I love coming back home and I love our family, right? I love Florida … Obviously, the school’s great academics. And the team was awesome. And yeah, I mean it was just a place I wanted to be.”
