These forgiving irons have finally arrived. Hi everyone, my name is James Robinson and welcome back to this YouTube channel. Today we have a full set of fitted 11 Tortoise forgiving irons. Yes, you read that right. These are the only ones in the world. Read that right. Don’t know where I got that from, but we’re at a gorgeous Lindrich Golf Club today. And we went down to Heraford just yesterday to get fitted for these spectacular clubs. You may have seen a couple of videos we did with demo clubs and with driving irons, but as you can see today, we have an absolutely gorgeous full set of these clubs. So, I believe these are now available to pre-order and will be coming in the new year. What I absolutely love about these is not only the forgiveness, but the look and the style of them and how they can be so versatile as well. Let’s play a couple of holes with them today. Let’s talk the numbers and the specs I got fitted for in these. And let’s talk the main number that really matters, price. Yes, guys, that’s right. We have four iron right through down to pitching wedge with these clubs. And we actually played a scramble with these just yesterday and had a huge giveaway. So, if you want to check that out, I will link that in the description below. But, as you can see, these could be a fantastic option for so many golfers in 2026. Now, let’s get teed off. So, one of the things I absolutely love about these golf clubs, apart from the price, which we will get to, it’s less than half the price of some of the bigger name brands, is the look of this golf club. I think these golf clubs look absolutely fantastic. You can see it does have a lovely wide sole on there, and it also features a really nice thick top line. So, this is always going to be a nice and forgiving club, but what I really like about it is the ball flats we can get very similar to that one there. A lovely low penetrating shot straight down the left hand side of this fairway, but I know that if I wanted to hit a slightly different shot, I have the ability to launch that a bit higher. Very little offset on here. So, it looks more like a player’s iron shape whilst giving me all the performance and forgiveness of a mid handicap iron. Let’s get down there. Let’s finish this hole. And also, let’s talk fitting because uh the fitting element of this was fantastic. Now, one of the things I think these clubs have in abundance is bag appeal. And I think bag appeal is absolutely underrated when it comes to buying new golf clubs in 2025. So for me, the fact that you can have this element of bag appeal, this element of a set of clubs that almost look bladeike is a very very nice option for a lot of people. So they’re very very similar to almost a set of tailor made P790s. However, they do have that thicker sole and they have that very very little offset which for me I think really sets these clubs apart in the market. And one of the things I’ve really enjoyed when testing the demos and the prototypes of these irons and of course in the fittings is how they’ve got the forge face. They’ve got the element of feel still. This is from the first T-shot we hit. Quite a big looking pitching wedge here. And you can see it’s so easy to launch. That should be all over the flag. That is going to be very interesting to see if we can get down there for an opening bird here. Can we hit that again? And can we flight it in just that little bit lower? Can you see a very easy flighting club? Maybe not as versatile as I thought. So, we didn’t manage to get the lower ball flight. We have managed to hit the green one. The first one has absolutely stopped on a dime, which for a club of this makeup again quite impressed with. And of course the forge face element allowing us to have a little bit of touch and feel around these greens. So very very similar to what we saw in the scramble where we both managed to chip in. So when we talk about long irons in these clubs, the designer, the head designer from 11, Nick, actually said he feels like they maybe go a little bit too far. They may be a little bit strong. But then I think a lot of people who are buying these clubs obviously want that element of distance. They want that element of forgiveness. When we talk mid irons, this is where things get really really interesting because we have a par three here 165 yards. Now if I hit, you know, I’m going to hit seven. I was going to hit eight, but we’re into the wind. And if I hit the seven iron, a lot of people who are potentially thinking about buying these clubs may well have the 11 hybrids in mind already from 7654, etc. Now, looking at these as an iron, the 7 iron, yes, it’s got a really long blade length and a thick top line, but because of that lack of offset, still feel like you can hit lovely towering golf shots like that one there, that’s fading back nicely. And if that had loads of offset on it, it’s just going to stay left, which would prove to be a bit of an issue. That was a terrible Look at that for a strike, by the way. Right. Can we draw one in? Draw in. It’s just to the left. Look at that for a strike, by the way. And that ball flight was the result. Maybe these things are the real deal. So, let’s delve a little bit more into the fitting process that I went through down at Herafford for these irons. Yes, they of course are DTC from the 11 website, but also you can go down there to the HQ at Herafford here in the UK and get fitted, which you can’t say for a lot of DTC brands, especially when these are coming in like circa 500600. Right. So, Nick, talk me through these. I’ve been looking forward to trying these for absolutely ages. Now we can obviously get fitted for them down here at 11 golf. Um different kind of fitting as well. So we’re not just going to go sixiron. We’re going to look at I mean you pull the six out there but kind of 684 wedge kind of fitting. So um we can build a couple of clubs as well. See what the different shafts offer. And I know these are your babies very much, aren’t they? So where should we start and what club should we go with first? Should we start eight iron? Eight iron. Be a bit easier to start with. Yeah. Lovely looking head. So a nice big lots of uh lots of real estate there. And obviously these are a distance club, aren’t they? So when we’re obviously on the golf course hitting these, we’re looking at can we get that spin rate acceptable and can we get the landing angle where we want it? I think we just box that out to be fair. How good was that? And you see I quite like that as a number as well. So kind of 162 that’s up there at my kind of seven iron numbers really. It’s pitched kind of 155. It’s not going absolutely miles, but I know there’s going to be that element of forgiveness there. Yeah, to be fair, I try to get it like for your type of speed anyway. About a thousand less in the club. That’s kind of the spin rate. And that’s 67. So that’s I can’t say that anymore, can you? No. I had to ask Bob what that meant. You know, Bob knows all the stuff like that. Oh, that was a skinny one. Now that’s interesting because that’s a really skinny one. If that still goes around that kind of 150ish number, which it has done and it’s nearly gone in, this is kind of where these clubs are going to shine for me, isn’t it? Or for anyone who’s who’s watching because that spun at 6750 on a low bottom hit. Yeah, we got compared to like a normal say players distance. It’s not a player distance. It’s like a normal distance, but toe to heels a bit longer, so a bit wider. It is it’s a fairly big head. I’ve pulled that one. just sleep down with chrome and a few rounded lines. I’ve pulled the absolute nads off that and it’s still just carried that 160. Gone a little bit further. The spin’s going to have dropped on that, I imagine. Has it dropped? Yeah. 5,000. Yeah. It’s funny because I’ve come in here looking at like all the different shaft offerings from KBS and stuff like that, but I I don’t feel like there’s a like this is just the standard, isn’t it? 120. Yeah. In that kind of lovely little black finish, but Can we beat that? 163 spinning again 6,000. Not bad at all. And you see the funny thing is here after the fitting and after the scramble that we played just yesterday, I didn’t really set myself a target or a goal in mind with these clubs, what I wanted to do was come out, enjoy them, and have some fun because I believe that’s exactly what whoever is going to purchase these clubs will essentially be doing. And yes, obviously the idea of hitting four irons a lot further, of having that element of forgiveness with your mid irons, and of course having a nice forgiving pitching wedge does mean it’s going to feel more enjoyable, you would hope. But then also the fact you’re saving yourself the best part of five, six, even 700 could also prove to be that as well. Let’s dive back into the fitting because one of the big parts I wanted to discuss was the premium components in here. We tried some graphite shafts. We tried these steel KBS shafts. And for me, I feel like I could actually consider gaming these clubs even with them being such big hollow bodied design. And that’s all down to that lack of minimal offset which I think is massively underrated. Oh, how does that? So, one of the things that we might look at as well is the potential of if we look in the long irons, would you maybe see people have a slightly lighter shaft in the long iron to help launch it? That’s something we’ve seen before in fittings where I know it’s not something you’re going to maybe order online, but if you come for a face to face fitting, you could do. I suppose it’s I think with the four, again, it depends kind of how you want to play because they’re like the original idea was like drive and iron blend. It was always just going to be a driving name, wasn’t it? The two and the three sold so well. So, the four is Yeah, it’s a little bit of a flat flight, but do you imagine most people who come because let’s be fair, we’re kind of trying these. And I mean, I think we’ve we’ve pretty much nailed it, which is ridiculous. But would you imagine most people to maybe be looking at the hybrids for the longer irons, so four and five maybe even into the six and then these kind of tortoise irons in the Yeah, possibly. or even to be fair like five wood, seven wood and then a blender like five five to wedge down. Yeah. So we got a graphite option as well which is a lot higher launching. So that’s that low bottomy strike that’s rearing its head 180. So a nice kind of 20 yard gap on that. Let’s try and hit a good one. And then what I want to do is try and flight it down as well because I don’t want to lose that ability to to hit a nice kind of high one, but also flight it. That’s nice. That’s just that nice fade. One of the things I like is there’s not too much offset, is there? No, I’ve Yeah. Like really kind of shampered that away so you have the ability to work it left right or work it. But again, to be fair, like this iron, anything that’s got like the tortoise on it. Yeah. Yeah. Kind of like for me it’s like I’ve designed it kind of what I want to look at. Yeah. The reason there’s no offs or little offset is and you’re pretty much a scratch golfer. Yeah. But we’re looking at an oversized forgiving head. Yeah. I think so many people can learn from that, can’t they? That’s a club twirl. That could go in that. I do like I like the distance element and I like that the forgiveness is still it’s still there, isn’t it? Mhm. If I try and flight this down now. So, what’s the peak height on that last one, Chris? 95 ft. So, can I still hit the distance? But can I flight it a bit lower? I’ve pulled it, so that’s going to go longer. But I reckon that’s a lot lower ball flight. So, I know I can still still have that workability. So, we’ve knocked 70 ft off that, haven’t we? So, I think for for a sixiron, that is six, isn’t it? Yeah. You want like the peak height to be close to your club head speed. Yeah. So if you’re swinging at say 90 anywhere 90ish feet is an optimal flight window. So with a normal shot because that was a like a flighted down one. Got that a little bit duffy but it’s still gone really I’m amazed how far that’s gone actually for a duffy one. A Martin Duff. Yeah. Yeah. So 85 89. Very good. I’m I’m I’m really enjoying this. I think the different options that are available look fantastic, but also you tell me this goes too far. Except again because the Yeah. The the three, four, five, they are more driving iron style. Yeah. So, this does come out a little flat, but but if we can launch it. So, what we’re hoping for like a 220. Yeah. Yeah, it’s probably going to carry 220, get to 230, maybe even a bit further. Oh, that’s a bottomy one. That’s the worst strike of the day. How’s that going to go? Over 200. 2011 on the nose with almost a shank. We’re allowed to say that word cuz Bob’s not here. They feel really soft. There we go. 220 230. What’s the spin on that? 3500 a tiny bit. Oh, I’d say anywhere between that and 4,000 here. Yeah. Again, it’s got a forged face just to kind of keep a softer feel. That’s the one. Yeah. That is the one. It is. It is a little bit that way, isn’t it? But I think for a four iron, like if this is a club for off the tea, yeah, that’s gone a very long way, hasn’t it? Can we flight this up? So, it’s funny. We speak with a six iron about trying to flight it down. on the forearm and we’re trying to almost flight it up a little bit. If you are someone that obviously needs a bit more height, the graphite option will add at least 15 ft. And that’s something where you come down to get fitted obviously with a bit more height there and that’s restricted the distance a little bit more. So what’s that peak height now? 86. It’s the same as the six end. So you can have that workability, but also having the options for, like you said, some of the different shafts that you’ve got in here and stuff like up there, the driver heads. This isn’t my thing, by the way. This is yours. But this Yeah, this is the cipher we’re using. It’s project X, just a high launch lightweight graphite. Yeah. Again, it will help just get So again, if you come down face to face, that’s something you can then if you smack that, I bet it goes a little higher than 95 ft or 90 ft. When are you expecting the fitting kits to to come in? Um, to be fair, we’re probably just going to get like eight sets of irons, build them all with all the different shafts, and have all the sets. You can try like the whole set. Yeah, that’s launching straight away easier, isn’t it? That’s the seven iron. So, again, we’d be looking around the 90 ft compared to the steel. Yeah, it’s gone. Yeah. 104. That’s really good. that guys. Let’s jump back outside and let’s keep playing some golf with these 11 tortoise irons. So, one of the areas you may come unstuck with these irons, and I’m not just talking about these irons in general, but big hollowbodied forgiving irons as a whole, is this kind of short fiddly shot. We’ve got 100 yards in here to this front flag. And if we hit a shot out of the roof and out of the fairway, you may see what I mean. And I think we have to tip our hats here to the guys at 11, but also tip our hats to all those companies who set off the hollowbodied movement. Tailor Made, Cobra, Ping, Tacomao, all those brands that have made golf easier, easier, not easy, because golf’s never going to be easy and more accessible. Can I hit a shot in here that flights nicely and stops? It’s quite strong lofted with a big face. That’s a lovely ball flight. Is it going to sit? Oh my lord. I kind of feel like I’ve uh proved myself partially wrong there cuz that sat brilliantly and was a gorgeous shot with a very very nice turf interaction as well. So now you would think that off the fairway we should be able to do something rather similar. I’ve left that one just to the right. Is it going to carry the bunker? Yes, that has carried the bunker and it has stopped again. So you can see there that because we do have that forge face, we still have the ability to get that ball launched in the air with a nice soft feel. It might have kicked off actually that one. Maybe that’s the shot where I need the offset. Left it open. Not like me at all. So admit the beauty about all the 11 clubs obviously they’re all handbuilt pretty much by yourself. I believe uh when you come down for a fitting um people aren’t really going to get access to come in here and watch you build the clubs cuz as you can see you are a very busy man but we’re going to get the opportunity to see you finish off this set for me. So uh KBS120 black shaft this time because I think it looks a lot cooler than the other ones but obviously there’s the option for the graphite which people could potentially go for as well. Yeah. Project X cipher just a lightweight again we have project X so I think the the project KBS sorry but the project X launch is a bit higher. Yeah. So, steel for kind of mid-launch, graphite for the high launch. Right, let’s build this pitching M. I’m going to let you do it because last time I did it. I made a bit of a balls of it. I’m not trying to say that it’s not my foresight, but I only just scraped through my club building exam. Did you get through yours first time? First time. First time. There was a bloke on our club building exam. He tried to put the grip on and not put enough white spirit on. So, he got the grip halfway on and then he was running around with it just flopping about. No fail. What we doing? Pitch and wedge. So, all standard lengths we’re going to go and then Yeah. So, we’re going 45 3/4US. It’s funny because I’m most people’s dream fix. I’m like standard length, stiff 120, and then realistically I could go flat in the lie angle, but we decided that if I go flat, that enhances that fade. So, for me, if I have it if I have it standard, it’s almost acting to me as upright, so it neutralizes the spin axis. So, it hits straighter. I I do the exact opposite. Yeah. If I go like three flat, stop the hook. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, you can um you can mask your problems with a good club fitting. What grip options have we got, Nick, as well? Have we got those orthopedic ones? They look absolutely Yeah, to be fair, we got a new grip starting in January, which is a They’re going to be black and obviously other colors, but it’s an elastimemer rather than rubber. Yeah. Last a bit longer, bit more grippy. Oh, wow. Yeah. Coming down. I did really like these. the uh kind of stops you gripping it too firm. It’s a bit prickly. Yeah. To be fair, the good thing about especially got like hand pain, they’re quite squishy and you don’t have to grip as hard. Yeah. Just less pressure on your hands. I feel like it allows me to just flip the club a little bit more than if I’m gripping onto it too tight. I can’t release it. Chris, can I? No. Connect. But understanding all this stuff, we understand it because we’ve done like the PGA training and we’ve obviously been to lots of club fittings and seen lots of club builds, but understanding how a grip can affect your golf swing, not just the thickness of it, but the texture of it and obviously things like that, the weight of the grip as well. If you think about the Jumbo Max stuff, it’s really interesting to how it affects how you release the club and of course then essentially what kind of ball flight you’re going to get because of the dynamic loft, etc., etc. I love talking golf clubs. Yeah. Perfect. So we had the other set or the rest of the set is all at D3. Yeah. So looking this is about D2 and a half. By the time you put glue and a fereral on it will be Yeah. Exact same. Talk talk to me about fererals, Nick. This is what’s on the rest of the set. Sexy pink and blues. Beautiful. We’ll go with them. And is this something people can choose when they get fitted or is this more of a um because we’re here and uh we’re making a really fun set. Yeah, I we we’ve got it all here. So if you do want it, yeah, we got like would you basically if you order them, would you just put in like the comments? Yeah, I’ll have to update the site, but Right. That’s on me. Sorry. But if anyone wants a different feral now, you can get it. So you’re welcome. I will put a picture somewhere just of all of them and then people see them and like a certain color. If you got them, you might as well put them on, can’t you? I’ve made I’ve made Nick drop so much harder there. Sorry. Well, to be fair, we are planning on it. Like those grips I was talking about. Yeah, they come in every color. Yeah. So, you can match cryptorel and how many sets would you say you’re building a day at the moment, Nick? Um, you can’t say too many. That’s not answer. I don’t know how many sets, but I’m probably doing We’re probably shipping out 200 clubs, 150 clubs. It’s Yeah. a day. Yeah, it’s a lot. Let that dry. Very good. That completes our set of 11 tortoises. Let’s get out there and see what we can do. So, as you can see here, a nice pitching wedge out of the rough. Now, it’s going to have stopped there because of the landing angle. It had plenty of height on there, and we weren’t far enough out for a full swing to generate the spin. The second shot, unfortunately, did just cannon off to the right hand side there. Pitched up on this bank and missed the green, but at least missed the bunker. We’ll talk positives. And now I must admit this isn’t an area I thought these clubs would excel. But you do still have because of that forge face a lovely feel element to be able to play those nice little kind of bump and runs because this isn’t a shot I’m overly keen on. But I still feel like I can play it quite well even with this rather big uncou looking forgiving club. You take those two all day from there. So guys, I really hope you have enjoyed this world exclusive of these irons. I really enjoyed bringing it to you step by step from the initial conception of the one iron in Orlando last January 11 months ago to the demo iron in the seven iron to testing them with different shafts and of course today’s fit in. So I think it is rather fitting to finish this out here on one of my favorite holes on Lindric Golf Course actually. So this is the 11th and it’s the par three from the winter tea. It’s a lovely little shot to try and hit. Can we just draw it in off the bunker even though we don’t have that element of offset ball back in the stance? Nice swing. That’s just stayed out there unfortunately. That’s a great strike and a lovely shot. And it’s flag high. It’s just out to the right. So we know what we need to do. We need to hit it pretty much straight at it. Which if anyone’s wanting a set of irons that does just go straight at it, could this be it? Guys, get in the comments below and let us know. World exclusive. They will be available very, very soon, even for a pre-order. And apart from that, we’ll see you all at the same time tomorrow. That’s better, isn’t it? Oh, yes.

When you try to replicate what you see on the screen and realize you weren't born to do that👄
Good morning James, to which Takomo model would you compare these?
They look great
I really like these, I wish more companies would make this type without the offset. I wish there was a fitting place near me here in the USA. Great video, James!
If you try hitting those buggers properly off of a hard, tight fairway you'll break at least one of your wrists! Way too much bounce & sole width for anyone that swings an iron with a correct negative attack angle.
Finally a forgiving iron without to much offset , bravo.
James – would really like to see you or Chris review some of the Sub70 irons…
mad scientist Nick…great vid
Love the range of clubs Eleven are developing.
They look Takomo-ish
Yes – Will be having a fitting early next year. All arranged😬
My wife loves her TM M4 irons and wont entertain the hybrid set even though she hits a hybrid well! These could be great for her but there’s only the senior lite 40g shafts that MIGHT work no ladies option (which I get, it’s market forces)!
Sorry, but they look too chunky to me.
James, how do there irons compare to the Eleven hybrid irons for a slow swinger? You should do a comparison review.
To be fair , they are far to shiny, look great for beginners
Love your videos
Great looking clubs! Greetings from Tennessee
Should have had Bobby take a few cracks at it as that’s the target market.
Those irons look amazing!!!!!!!!! Wow!!
Too shinie and sole is too wide, Also, they look a little thick
id love to see you try some maltby clubs
forgiving irons with less offset, yes!.. reminds me a little of a little known PRGR Egg Forged…they had some of the least offset of any clubs I've ever had, player CBs, any… remarkably little offset, yet very strong lofts, variable width soles ranging from "normal" width in wedges to hybrid level width in the longer irons, with the middle irons sole kind of in between. Craziest set I've ever had and made all the sense in the world. Love to see Eleven have a similar idea.. btw, can Nick get some help? lol He designs, club builds, markets, AND has to deal with all these UK Ytubers and their free stuff? 😂 Keep up the great work Eleven, and Nick!
Awesome review James
Earlier this year I ordered the Eleven Hybrid set for one of my back up sets and something different to try once and a while and was very impressed , I think I will order the 44 degree Vokey to replace the PW if I was to play them more regularly thou, but overall great clubs and didn't get the flyers I was expecting with the scoring clubs !!!
Get a set in Sam Torrance's hands, along with specs etc.
Just ordered a set of Caley 01's, maybe nextime
Isn’t golf brilliant
