Just as Northern Ohio has a great variety of public and private golf course properties across the region targeted toward different types of golfers, it is also blessed with a variety of indoor golf facilities, each with its own player focus. Some are centered on entertainment, others on game improvement, and yet another set is targeted toward people who want flexibility in how and when they play or practice.
As winter rolls around, let’s look at five different types of indoor golf facilities available across the Northern Ohio region, and break down the amenities at each so you can choose the type of experience you want from a visit. Or shake it up over the next handful of months and visit them all!

They’ve also just added TopTracer Range to the 28 practice range bays in the facility, with access included as a part of every booking. Players can collect shot data while they practice, or play a variety of fun games, or even hit the links on virtual courses available right from every range slot in the facility.
The Golf Dome has a 700-square-foot putting area with Tour Greens synthetic turf that runs 10.5 on the Stimp, so practice putt and chip away! There is also a fitness/speed training area, a club fitting bay, and a pro shop.
The facility is owned by Matt Creech and his wife Jennifer, two PGA Class A Professionals with highly-regarded teaching and business résumés. Lessons and clinics are available at The Golf Dome from them plus some of the best PGA professionals in the business, including Jim Troy, Ross Keen, Tom Kochensparger, Steve Vaughn, and more.

SEMI-INDOORS
Some facilities offer partially-enclosed spaces, with three sides indoors and shots fired toward the outdoors. Heaters pump out BTUs to keep you warm in the winter, but there is still some exposure to the elements. So it’s not exactly “indoor golf” per se. But it’s still golf with warmer-than-winter temps, and on some days you’ll even work up a sweat!
