This year we ranked every golf ball we tested here at Golf Ball Addict. From 50 yard spin with the wedge, to distance and ball speed metrics with every club, we ranked every ball and compiled the best list on the internet for average golfers looking for great golf ball options.

This time around. we have golf balls that all do something decently. It’s not all red numbers and bottom tier garbage. Some of these golf balls you all love, but the numbers suggest a switch could be considered.

Titleist, Callaway, Volvik, Srixon, Taylormade, Snell, Vice, Oncore, Legato, Bridgestone, Maxfli, Pinnacle, PXG, Mizuno, Wilson and many more golf ball brands all battle it out for the top spot!

These are 89-81

What is up? Happy small business Saturday, my fellow golf ball addicts. Make sure you go out today and get a coffee or something. Support a local golf course. Maybe go out and play some, you know, 18 if you’re not under snow. I know some of you kind of are. Anyway, we have a continuation of our top 100 golf ball list. And, you know, we’re today we’re going to do 89 through 81 because a lot of you or a couple of you brought up a really great point. Why do 100 through 90? I don’t know why I did that. Just please forgive me. I’m a goofball. It’s a great point. So today we’re going to correct that. We’re going to do 89 through 81 and then that way continuing on we can be, you know, 10 10 10 that kind of thing. So without further ado, let’s dive right in. The top 100 golf balls for 2025. [Music] As always, if you like this content, please, we have a membership. It just starts at a dollar a month, and that really helps me provide even more content to you. Um, I do a dollar a month because most people, I feel, wouldn’t notice a dollar out of their account a month. But if times are tough, it’s the holidays. I get all that. Liking, commenting, and subscribing, and just watching this video fully, you know, and letting it run, you know, to its full length. That kind of stuff really helps a lot, too. And it doesn’t cost you anything. So appreciate everyone who does that. This is a lot of work and anyone who supports it, whether you’re watching or commenting, whatever, thank you so much. Let’s dive right in. Let’s get right to it. At number 89 and we’re starting off with a banger, of course, we have Yeah. you know, this is the one every year I I don’t look forward to this because, you know, you always get a few guys who are loyalists and you have to fight them and stuff like that and I get the well, you know, all the other major publication say it’s great. Well, you have to understand something. We review from the average golfer standpoint, from the average swing standpoint. You know, I’m I’m an eight handicap. I’m not the greatest. We test golf ball forgiveness. We test who golf balls are from the average golfer perspective. Meaning that you don’t want the golf ball to bend left and right. You don’t want it to have a super low penetrating flight. The Prov1 is a golf ball that’s intended for pros. Like, it’s intended for guys who are winning on tour, for guys who are not playing the same game as us. And this is what I always struggle with. You know, this is the third year we’ve done the top 100. The Prov1 has never been great on it. But here’s the reality. Look at the numbers from what I tested this year. Now, keep in mind, there’s other Prov1 models we haven’t covered yet. The X, the Left Dash, the uh Left Dot. There’s a lot of them. So, particularly there is a beef I have with the Prov V1. I’ll get to that in just a second, but let’s look at the numbers. If you look when it comes to 50 yard spin, one of the lowest I tested this year, you know, more on that in a second. Pitching wedge yards, 35th. Uh, pitching wedge mile per hour, 40th. That’s pretty good. The spin, again, really, really low. When it comes to seven iron, you know, not great. When it comes to driver, not great. Well, again, we’ll get to that in just a second. And then when it comes to spin, it was actually the third lowest spin I tested this year, which that’s fantastic. So, this is why golf ball fitting is so important and this is why golf ball it’s so important to fit it to what you need in your game because we’re all different. What bothers me about the Prov1 is I’ve worked at Cabbat Citrus Farms. I’ve worked at Southern Hills Plant Pete Die course. I’ve worked at several courses where I always love to ask people what golf ball they use, right? And I love to know why and all that stuff. And I’ve talked to thousands of people at this point. It’s been years of asking. And the Prov1 is the only golf ball that the majority of people, I would say seven out of every 10 people who play it. And I ask them and I say, “Well, why do you play it?” They shrug their shoulders and they go, “Well, I I don’t know. Isn’t it supposed to be the best?” They don’t know why they’re playing it. And then when you dive in further and I say, “Okay, well, did you know it’s a distance golf ball? Like it’s supposed to be low spin and it’s designed for distance?” Oh, well, I thought I thought it was supposed to spin a lot. No, it’s if you want high spin, go with the X. The X spins awesome. One of the best I’ve tested this year. So then I’m like, okay. Well, so it has a it has a really low flight. Is that what you’re looking for? Oh, well, I wondered why, you know, I couldn’t get the ball up in the air. I’ve been struggling with that. You know, I kind of lost some distance, but I thought it must be me. It must not People don’t know why they play it. Now, some of you do, but a lot of you don’t. This is the number one golf ball on the market. Millions of people play it. Hundreds of thousands don’t know why. That’s my beef with it. The reality is is that the Prov1 is a golf ball that is for advanced golfers. It’s not for the average swing speed. For three years in a row, two different models. I’ve tested four different models total over the last 5 years. None of them do that great. They just don’t. And so, all I’m saying is is if you use this golf ball, please make sure you understand why you’re using it. At number 88, we have the Snyder Tour. Yeah, look, I mean, by now I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but the Snyder golf balls, they spin a lot. That’s kind of their niche. That’s what they do really well. Uh, distance-wise, maybe not so much, but that’s because there’s so much spin. If we pull up these numbers here, the Snyder Tour, many of you know, is the most spinning golf ball with the 50 yard I tested this year. It’s also the most spin green side I’ve tested this year, but pitching wedge yards, not so great because again, it spins a decent amount, but you’re going to take off a lot of yards there. Didn’t do very well on the mile per hour when it came to pitching wedge either. Seven iron spin top 30. That’ll work. Nothing wrong with that. And again, driver spin was kind of in that medium range, but I just didn’t get a lot of pop off the club. The tour, the reason it falls down so low, I love that it spins a ton. It’s actually kind of comical. I’ve had several people email me and be like, “My buddies and I are laughing because it’s it’s spinning just even from little chips so much.” So, it’s a fun ball. It’s interesting to play, but it is expensive and it doesn’t have a lot of pop off the club. Those distance numbers, even ball mile perph speedwise, wasn’t great. For a golf ball like this to truly succeed, I need to see more ball speed. I don’t care about the distance as much because the spin’s there. I get that. But, I can’t have both no pop and no distance and high spin. It’s going to put you in the 80s, unfortunately. And that’s where this ended up. At number 87, we have this one’s really heartbreaking for me um for for multiple reasons because the snail gets some for years was one of those two-piece golf balls that like it it was almost perfect. I mean, it was a top 10 golf ball either last year, the year before, maybe both years. Uh, but ever since Snell changed to the new factory, I kind of had put off testing this new model because I was afraid of what was going to happen. And here’s what happened. 81st in spin. Not great. 87th, 109th in ball mile per hour speed. This is supposed to be a distance golf ball, by the way, just so you know. Uh, terrible spin. Uh, just doesn’t get it done. When we get to seven iron, it does compress a little bit better. All those are not bad. Even driver, it’s not bad. Uh, it spins really really high. You know, it pitching wedge. I think they firmed it up a little bit when they moved to this new factory. Maybe the materials are a little firmer or something. I I don’t know. What’s hard is is that when I started at Cabbat Citrus Farms before we opened, we had a employee golf outing where you got to, you know, know your people and we all got into Forsome. I played the snail get some, the old version from the old factory and shot a 78. And it was so funny because, you know, again, I’m playing this ball. People in the group were like, “I’m sorry, you’re playing what?” Like, “You’re playing a title.” Oh, no. A snail. What? Not a not a Max Fly. Like, what are you playing? And then I shot a 78 with it. And then there were people in that group who were like, “Oh, you don’t just have to play one of the three big names.” And that’s that’s what I love, right? That’s what this whole channel’s about. So, I’ve always had this really big love for this golf ball. That’s why this just breaks my heart. It it’s it’s so mediocre now. And I hope they fix it. I I I really do. I you know because now there’s only one snowball left. We’ve already eliminated the four, the two, and now the get some. Man, what a downfall. At number 86, we have Yeah. I mean, another Schneider ball. I don’t need to really say that much. This one in particular is called the speed, and it’s designed to get more ball speed, which, you know, you might think, oh, okay. So Snyder has all this spin. Maybe there’s someone maybe this ball is going to take some of that spin away and add that pop off the club you were looking for, Nick. Right. Unfortunately, no. If we look here, as you can see, spin is 19th. It’s still one of the most spinning golf balls I’ve seen on the market, even though it’s the speed. Now, when we get to pitching wedge, those are awesome numbers. Those are some of the best numbers I tested this year. Anything in the top 25 is awesome when you have 120 golf balls in the bull. 94th though when it came to seven iron, 93rd, 49th in spin. Again, pretty good spin. And then driver, just a high spinning golf ball. That’s where it really hurt. And again, no pop off the club. To be completely honest, I love Snider, but the only reason this golf ball is where it is is because of that pitching wedge performance. If it hadn’t had that, it would have been either outside the top 100 or toward the very, very, very bottom. It sneaks in here. It gets into the 80s. Again, it’s a little expensive. I know most of you think that way. The Speed’s probably out of the six golf balls they have, the Speed is probably my least favorite, but you know, it it is what it is. They they have a lot more models. We still haven’t got to their best models yet, so we’ll get there. At number 85, we have Yeah, you know, this has been a common thing on the top 100. Bridgestone balls usually just don’t do that well when it comes to their tour series. Um, mainly because there’s just not a lot of pop off the club, right? I I I I think that they’re very straight because they have a dimple pattern that’s awesome and it eliminates sid spin and it’s very good at that. That’s one of the few patents that I really love from them, but there’s just never much pop off the club. And a lot of you have a love or hate type of relationship with it. Some of you love Bridgestone and think it’s awesome. Some of you hate it, can’t stand it. There are none of you in between. I I I rarely see a comment where people are like, you know, it’s okay. Just doesn’t happen. You either hate the ball with a passion or you love it. And you know, I was just looking at the My Golf uh Spy survey results they just did, which are really kind of interesting if you haven’t seen them. But Bridgestone got eighth. I mean, it it was behind other companies, you know, like Vice and Maxfly and I mean, it was the bottom. And this is a AAA tour ball that has a factory in Covington, Georgia. It’s Americanmade. This should be in theory a golf ball a lot of people love, but the numbers aren’t there. And in fact, if we look at them, 67th in the spin, you know, this this is the RXS is designed for spin. It’s for under 105 mph, and it’s for, you know, spin. Uh, not that great there. But pitching wedge yards was pretty good. Pitching wedge ball speed was really good. But again, it’s a golf ball with extra spin is what it’s supposed to be. And 86, not great. I’ve had that problem with Bridgestone for years where they tell me it’s supposed to be high spin and it’s not. They tell me it’s supposed to be distance and it’s not. And that’s that’s the problem. Yards 103rd, 100th. Awful. And then there we go. Now the spin’s getting up there. Okay, that’s pretty good. Driver, really low. Really low. And then spin, you know, really low on the spin, which is again kind of we Bridgestones are always a lot of this. And you know, we’re going to talk about Bridgestone again here real soon. Um, so I’ll just leave it at that, but disappointing. At number 84, we have Yeah, when I said soon, I meant real soon. I meant like coming up next. So, the Bridgestone X takes a pretty heavy dive because last year it was like in the top 20. Last year, I had tested golf balls with a little faster of a swing speed. And so, that’s where the X really shined. When you swing a little faster, it pops off the club. It’s the golf ball Tiger Woods plays. and for a reason. And no, Bridgestone’s one of the few companies that do not change their tour balls for their tour players. That the ball you’re playing is the same ball he’s playing. So, should a guy like me be using it? Probably not. You know, again, when I tested it with faster swing speed last year, it did really good things. But from an average swing point, swing speed, excuse me, it just doesn’t do that well. I wish it had done better. I really had. But look at these numbers. 17th in spin, which again, the X model is supposed to be the distance non-spinning model. Hilarious. 101th and and uh 101st. I’m sorry, 101th. That’s a typo. It’s supposed to be 101st. Please forgive me. 99th 16th and spin. Again, a really high spinning golf ball. It’s not supposed to be 51st, uh, you know, 48th, 79th. There’s just a lot of, you know, eh in there throughout. Um, but again, my main problem is is that Bridgestone has had that where they’re like, “Hey, this is our distance ball.” And it spins a crap ton. And then they’re like, “Hey, this is our golf ball. If you want that spin, here you go.” and I get tons of distance with it and I get no spin. I’m really grateful that next year we’re getting something new. Again, we’ll talk about that in just a second cuz no, we’re not done talking about Bridgestone. At number 83, we have Yeah. You know, out of the Topflight models, this is the firmst of the three. It’s designed to be really explosive off the driver. Um, you know, Top Flight didn’t have the greatest results this year. Most of them are pretty mediocre. One of them was outside the top 100. There’s still one left that we haven’t mentioned yet. Um, but you know what? I I do have to give the XL Distance some credit because at least it does what it’s advertised to do. It’s supposed to be a low spin, long distance golf ball, right? Look at these numbers. Um, as you can see, spin, eh, pitching wedge, eh, seven iron, eh, driver off the T, 20th in yards, 23rd in mile per hour, and 87th in spin. It actually spun a lot. If it hadn’t spun that much, it probably would have been even better on those yards. It could have been 10th, it could have been 15th. Um, it could have been anywhere in that range. And so, you know, I I’m not happy with that ball because most of it is mediocre, but at least it does what it’s advertised to do. So, it sneaks in in the 80s. At number 82, we have, you know, another Titleless model that we just got done talking about it. It this golf ball is specifically fitted for a very specific golfer, you know, and if you are that golfer, which some of you are, I’ve gotten several emails about, you know, the Left Dash and how much you love it and if it didn’t cost so much, you would play it and all that stuff. and that’s great. Um, but if you’re not that type of golfer, it’s unforgiving. It’s punishing. I need more spin. It just didn’t do that well. I mean, it’s it’s an interesting golf ball, but it’s super expensive. Does the average golfer have any business even thinking about these? No. No. You need to be advanced. You need to be a really good ball striker, and you need to fit what that mold is. If you go through a fitting and that’s what’s fitted to you, awesome. But again, I don’t want to see you, like we just talked about, I don’t want to see you playing this and go, “Oh, well, I saw it on robotic testing and I thought it’d be cool.” No. Figure out what it is and then assess that. Do I need that? At number 81, we have Yeah. You know, another model and you know, it’s it’s uh this happens every year, like I said. Um, this is the uh RX, which is designed for distance for under 105 mph swing speed. Uh, so opposite of the RXS. RXS is spin. RX is distance. We look at the numbers here. As you can see, spin, it does really well. It was one of the best spinning golf balls of the year. Pitching wedge yards, really great, but pitching wedge spin, not so great. So, that’s actually accurate. That’s good. We’re off to a pretty decent start. Really great distance. Spin really low. Okay, it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. Awesome. Okay, we’re on a good path. Driver’s kind of mediocre. So, there is some good in there. I do like the seven yard distance. I do like the pitching wedge distance. I like that it is low spin and it is actually advertised that way and it’s working that way. And on the 50-yard pitch, it has a lot of spin. Unfortunately, even though there are some bright spots, we are getting to the point in the list where you are going to start seeing some bright spots. It’s not just going to be dog water the whole way through. Um, but here’s some good news. Bridgestone for me, my most anticipated golf ball of 2026 is the new Bridgestone TourB lineup. They have new patented technology. They have a new way that they’ve they’ve I I don’t want to go into super detail cuz I’m not 100%. I’ll I’ll wait till they advertise it. But I had the chance to experiment with these golf balls. I got the prototypes in. I think these things are the real deal. Like everything that I don’t like about Bridgestone, how it feels, how there’s no explosiveness off the club, the putting feel, the chipping feel, all that’s different. I hit this golf ball and a smile comes on my face. How the numbers are yet, I don’t know. We’ll have to see and we’ll see very soon. But I think Bridgestone might have finally found that pot of gold they’re looking for. If they end up finding something that’s even a little bit better than what they’ve been putting out, it could be a big big year for Bridgestone. and maybe on next year’s top 100. Maybe they can get a ball in the top 20 again or top 30 or top 10. I don’t know. We’ll see. So, there is hope for Bridgestone. If you’re a Bridgestone loyalist and you love them, I I think they might have figured something out. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for that cuz I would love for a golf ball, you know, Americanmade, you know, and and reasonably priced. You know, you can get them for 37 a dozen if you buy four dozen at one time. It there’s there’s bright spots there. I want it to succeed, but right now I just need to see more. That is the continuation. I know that list was a little more boring because we just had Titalist and Snyder and just basically the same ones. Uh but you know what? We got that one out of the way and now continuing on, you’re going to see a lot of more new faces. And like I said, in the next list here in two days, you’re going to start seeing more bright spots like, hey, this golf ball was good at this. It was good at that. It’s not just going to be all throughout, right? You’re going to actually see something that’s like, hey, that might work for me. There we are. As always, keep watching, keep saving, keep learning. I’ll see you in two days.

  1. Play the RX and good for how I hit em. Told myself this year I would pick a couple from your top 10 and give them a shot. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your countdown.

  2. Great Pro V1 explanation. It's a great ball, but it's not for the average golfer – honestly, unless you're at least a single-digit hcp (if not lower), you're wasting your money paying anything more that $40/dozen for golf balls.

  3. The low scores both here and by MGS tell you why Bridgestone is re-mixing their Tour balls for 2026 with the VS lineup.

  4. When talking about Left Dash, just ask yourself "Should I be playing the same golf ball Bryson plays?" 99% of average golfers' honest answer should be no.

  5. Most people who watch this channel could have guessed where a lot of these golf balls would have ended up. Still, there's a lot of golf balls that leave you open for fun debate

  6. I like my Bridgestone reds. With my fitted woods, I really see the difference. The only problem I have is I get inconsistent with them when using the other 12 clubs in my bag. With my woods, I'm able to watch the flight straighten out…which is cool as heck to watch. There's a course I play that's tight and technical, and that's the ball I'm using.

It'd be great if the sales applied to the yellow balls and not just the white ones…

  7. I’m a Pro V1 guy, played it with odd detours since it came out BUT I’m a high spin, high flight player so it suits me! To be honest the Strata balls were better but they were discontinued and I went back to it! I can still get snow on it when it hits the green from the height !😂

  8. I use to be one who thought I gotta play the v1 or v1x the. When I started back playing I wanted a balm that was for me I started with Bridgestone rx then tried the Titleist tour soft. Then I went to tm tour response stripe very good for me then recently the Mizuno rb maxx. So find the balm that is right for you.

  9. Bridgestone really needs to change the letters on their models. I can’t keep it straight in my head.

Also spot on comments about the pro v1. I’ll also add that people like playing expensive balls as a flex. Similar phenomenon where people buy designer clothes. People like showing off that they have money. I’ve played with people that wouldn’t play certain balls because they are too cheap.

  10. I was playing the Warbird. Nick showed the horrible chug effect it has in his review. I commented "I can't get it to chug, works great" yesterday on the practice green fkn "all aboard!!" I don't know how I didn't see this before, it was chugging like a 1890s choo choo train. Which sucks because I like everything else about that ball. Im playing again this morning, think I'll play the Straightfli today. Damn.

  11. Something occurred to me if a balls, PW Yards is 32nd what’s the, “degree of difference” between that and the best, and will that shot, “stick a green”! I’m going to assume if it is in, “the green” it will at least do that! Am I right? I am enjoying the content. Thanks

  12. Well well well Titleist and Bridgestone 💩. Didn't expect to see them this far down. It makes sense what you're saying tho, they're designed for the tour players. Would be great if you could get somebody with a higher swing speed to test balls for you as well (maybe they don't have to do the videos, but just getting their statistics would be nice)

  13. As you say Nick, try the ball not the brand. We all know Titleist and Bridgestone. Great reputation but not necessarily made for us. Don't be amazed that they are so low in the list.

  14. Great review ! Can't wait for the next round. It's always a highlight of the day ! Hope the Wilson golf balls make an appearance this year.

  15. RXS is my favorite ball . I’m a 85to 90 swing speed. Tried a lot of balls and this one works best . Home course is target golf with small greens. Fits my swing and at 69 shot 69 with it . No way is it for under 105 . Maybe under 92 . Good for this old guy though

  16. Nick, thank you for all your hard work in compiling this data throughout the year and then the lists.
I have two SMALL criticisms (since it’s YT and everybody has to weigh in 😂).
As a professional guitarist , I have to say it’s a bit irritating to have to listen to the same 4 bars of music for every transition 100 times. Even if I liked the music, which I really don’t, it would still really begin to grate on my nerves after the first 15 times. I don’t think that long of a transition is even necessary, anyway. Like I said, a very small criticism.
And the other is a question, which is: why are pitching wedge distance and specifically PW ball speed a part of the ranking metric? Spin, sure. But I really don’t care how far my pitching wedge goes; I care that it spins (enough) and goes a consistent distance.

Now here are the things I LiKE. I like how quickly you are going through this part of the list. I like the succinct explanation of why the ball is where it is in the list. I like the recap of the ball’s performance. I like your attitude and several of your hats. Once again, many thanks for all the hard work, and I am going to go now and become a member.

  17. First of all I want to start by saying I absolutely love your site and value your content. You’re a joy to watch. But I want to make sure I understand the parameters in this Top 100. Are we throwing out value, design, putting, feel, dispersion, and durability completely? And are you assigning the same weight to each of the 10 categories on the screen? Such as “pw mph” getting the same weight as “ driver total distance”? Cause I gotta say why do I need pw mph? I need the spin and I might even need the distance, but why the pw speed? Pls forgive I’m not picking on that one category, it’s just an example….. I gotta think the ranks are gonna be distorted.

  18. Yikes Bridgestone everywhere here! I’ve never played a Bridgestone but have recently purchased the Precept Laddie from your reviews. I’m a Boost player and with it going away most likely I’m trying to find a replacement.
