This is a cart bag. This is a cart bag. Or is it a cart bag? Could be. Looks like one. Very different. This is a carry bag and this is a carry bag. Very different from one another. Do you have the right bag? Are you setting it up properly? And some secrets and tips that can make your life a whole lot easier. We’re going to start with the cart bag. If you ride exclusively, you need one like this. This has a slot for every club plus a couple extra. So, you need that. It also comes with an attachment that you could put on top of here to help uh soften the banging around of your wedges. I got rid of that. I didn’t like that, but a lot of people love it. So, don’t take my word for it. It comes with an attachment on top. These are fantastic. This one’s by Vessel. Uh, and here’s what you really got to look for. one. It has like a slot in here deep in here where the strap of the golf cart goes through and it goes underneath this pocket here. This magnetizes up. The strap goes through. There’s a extra protection layer here. The strap goes through here and it secures to the cart fantastically. So, that’s something you’re going to want to look for with a bag like that. The straps got this little pocket it kind of goes down into. So, you’re just really only carrying it from, let’s say, the car to the cart. If you have a cart or you leave your bag at the shop, you might just want to disconnect that. It’s got a handle here as well, so you don’t always need that. It’s got extra straps back here so you can extra secure it to the cart. One of my favorite bags. However, I don’t ride all the time, so it’s not something I use often. You want to make sure if you’re going to ride exclusively, you have one of these cars, you want the handle not only on the front, but on the sides, too. You’re just going to thank me for that later because you’re going to wish you had it at one point. You’re like, “Ah, it’s Make sure you get it here and the sides.” Now, how you put your stuff in the pockets here, personal preference, but it goes on the cart this way, and you really have access to the full bag out the back. And so that is something that is incredibly valuable. You got these pockets here, cushioned, little straps inside to hold different things, keys or valuables. This one’s magnetized. I love that zipper pocket here. The waterproof of this style bag, fantastic. The only thing you have to worry about is water getting in the top, but it does have a cover, and I I always keep the cover in one of these side pockets here. Here’s mine. There’s the cup. So, it’s got everything. The key is how do you arrange your clubs in the bags? That’s going to be the most important piece of this whole video. If you just walk, I will timestamp each bag. So, you can just jump to the bag of your choice. Here we go. With the cart bag, primarily the woods, the longest clubs. I’m going to put farthest closest to the cart. So it straps in this way, farthest away from me reaching in because I want to go from high to low. So a lot of people will look at this and think, “Oh, they have the most slots here. Therefore, I want all my wedges down there.” No, don’t do that cuz you have like four wedges, five wedges. No, they don’t go there. Longest clubs go farthest away. So I’m going right here, right here. Threewood. Sevenwood, four wood, seven wood right up there. Then I have like this Xiron or four iron. I’m going to go on one side here. And then my five iron. I could go there. And then here’s where you got to decide for yourself which way you go. I go, if I’m facing the bag this way, left to right. So I’m going sixiron there. 6 7 8. And work work my way across and across. So that was six 7 8 9 pitching wedge. There we go. Now, everybody’s different with the clubs they have, but that’s the configuration I like right there. Then I’m going to go 50 over here. 54. And I got a 60. Now there’s an extra slot there. carry 15 clubs. Look, if you’re riding in a cart all the time, you might carry some extra clubs. That’s not a problem. The putter goes down there on the bottom in that wider slot right there. This way, when you’re at the golf cart and you’re reaching, you got everything right there. You don’t have to reach over down there to grab a pitching wedge or something. It’s just laid out perfectly just like this. Just a few other accessories I like to include with basically every bag. I’m putting my rangefinder on this big clip here just to hang on there. And then usually I just undo it and it magnetizes to the golf cart and I keep it there for the round. And that usually goes there. And then if they have this little clip, that’s where I put my little brush that I like to clean my golf clubs with. right there. And that way it’s right there. So I keep those in the same spot. And the pro move is just get your towel, throw it around there. I like to kind of keep it back behind some woods. I also wrap it around an iron or two as well, just so they don’t clank against each other so much. It looks good like this. I might start riding more often and just take this out. This is your riding golf bag setup. If you want to like look like you know what you’re doing, this would be a great great option. Moving on. Now, some of us just want a really awesome staff bag. They call this this is for riding or for those remote control push carts. And this is very different than the cart bag. Even though yes, you can use this in the cart. This has a sixway top as opposed to like a 15 or 16 way top. So, we have to arrange our clubs a little bit differently. And you just can’t set this one up the same as the other one. If you want the best use of your space and your functions, your functions, you you want it to work well for your situation so that you’re just no nothing getting in your way is what I’m saying. A lot of people just love the staff bag, the look, feel, the layout, and I get that. I’d say if you’re going to choose one of the two to use consistently, I would probably go with the cart bag. Now, I use this every time I have my remote control cart, not a riding cart. I don’t like this riding in a cart. And I’ll show you why. When you put this in a cart, your tendency is going to be to put it in this way. So that when you approach it, it would look like this. And that’s not wrong. And so you would want to set up the top probably similar to what you did there. Your woods back here, your mid irons, and your wedges down below. That way it goes from high to low as you face it. That’s fantastic. However, the better way for both the cart and the push cart, that’s why I use it for the push cart. I go this direction. So, it loads in my push cart like this and I’m seeing it like this. That means it’s faced like this when I’m grabbing everything. So, that’s what I like. But when that cart, let me just show you. See, here’s my buggy I use. And then I throw this on this direction like so. This way I have access to all these pockets down here, everything that’s you carry. And this one just sits better and is more secure on a push cart, a remote cart like this versus any other bag. So that’s why I use this one for this scenario where I’m remote controlling it around. Then it comes in like this. And this is how you’re going to be grabbing your clubs out. So, he’s going to drive in. And here you go. So, because of this setup, this is how you’re going to want to set this up. You’re going to get your long clubs up top here. And I usually go driver in one slot, fourwood, sevenwood in the next slot over to the right. Then I take my five iron, six iron, and Xiron, my longest iron. And I go all three of those left slot here. And if you really want to be cool, you go left to right. Let’s say four, five, six, like that. Same thing on the right slot. 7 8 9 like so. Then I go pitching wedge and my 50 on the left slot. 60 and 54 degree wedge on the right slot like so. And putter is personal preference here. You can go down below. I don’t hate that. The reason why I don’t hate it down below is cuz I kind of put it in the middle and it helps from everything banging against each other as we’re cruising around the fairway. Then I get my towel and I wrap it around a few clubs up top like so. And I let it hang off to the side just like that. This way when I’m looking around, I steer it. I park it. I can grab my stuff from longest to shortest club. Easy to see. Nothing’s in the way. Then for me, I’m usually operating this from the on my right. So it’s usually on my right. Then I So I get my rangefinder here on the big buckle and my brush on the little clip there. And then for my rangefinder, I always keep it unzipped. You’re going to like this. During the round, I just unzip the case and use the bungee over the clip. That’s my little thing for during play. This way when I grab my rangefinder, I just have to do the bungee and pull it out. I’m not constantly zipping and zipping and zipping, especially when someone’s about to hit a shot and you’re like zipping your rangefinder. It gets annoying. So, don’t do that little tip for you. This is quiet. No one’s going to hear that, right? No, it’s just There you go. I don’t leave it open because I think it’d bounce out. So, I use that. And then another little tip for you on the 18th hole after I hit my drive in the fairway and I’m shooting my yardage, make sure then I put it away and then I zip it up. That’s just a trigger that I’m done. Everything’s good and I’m going to It’s like a It’s like a focus mode the very last time I zip it up. That means let’s close the deal on this round. And the reason I don’t use this for any other purpose than this setup here that you see is for this reason right here. If I were to take this and put this on a golf cart, okay, I would just put it the exact same way. So, it would go in like this so that I had access to all the stuff over here. I’ve got my pocket. I got my Velcro pocket. I got my pouch for my stuff. Like, but then then you see then it’s in backwards, right? It’s it’s wrong. I’ I’ve got to rearrange it so it’s the other way cuz I’d be reaching this way. And so, if I wanted a wedge, I’d have to go over the top of my clubs to reach back here. You’d want it this way in the cart. So, you could do that, but my problem is I’m so used to grabbing everything from the other side that all my wallet, my gear, and my stuff is on the other side. So, then you don’t have access to it back there. That’s why the cart bag is perfect for carts because everything is accessible from one side. You only got like your your cover or whatever you put back here. And then a one pocket for valuables. So you can see it’s not designed for both like what you got to customize it for whatever it is you’re going to use. But for the buggy, it’s perfect. Walking bag number one. And there’s a big difference between walking bag one and super light walking bag number two. So, we got to make sure we’re set up each one for the most successful walk we’re going to have. Oh, by the way, thanks so much. If you watched the buildout of this room, I had a garage door opener right here. And many of you recommended the side mount garage door opener. We got it. I put it on, took this off. We got no garage door opener dangling on top of our head. So, thank you. Just want to send my appreciation to those of you who uh were so kind to comment. I read all the comments, so appreciate your support. Subscribe to the channel, too, if you haven’t done so already. I really appreciate it. Let’s We got a long way. Let’s get to 600,000 subscribers by the end of this year. So, that means if you’re watching this and you’re not subscribed, you’ve got to subscribe. Otherwise, it’s just not going to happen. That’s like 85,000 subscribers or something ridiculous like that. We got a lot, but there’s a lot of you out there. So, let’s do it. Let’s rock and roll. Let’s Let’s get up there. Okay, walking bag one. Here we go. Get your long clubs. I go right up top. You know the drill. One, two, three. So, driver, fourwood, seven wood for me up top. Four, five, and six. Left side. 7 8 9 right side. And by the way, this is my favorite configuration. 246 way. I love that. I also like a one, two, three, four-way. So, four or six is fine. Like, I don’t need a double space on the top and I don’t need a double space on the bottom. But whatever. Uh, six or four are my two favorites. Pitching wedge, gap wedge over there, sand wedge, lob wedge down below. Some people put their putter up top like so. Back here. Totally fine. This is personal preference. I prefer it, same as last time, in one of the bottom slots. I usually go bottom right and I turn the toe in. It just helps cushion the clubs as you go. All the bags today are from Vessel in case you’re wondering, so you can go to their website and check them out. They do have probably, it’s debatable, but they’re among the best bags on the market. They’re also among the most expensive, so keep that in mind. If you’re walking, you must have your own towel. This is critical for many reasons. One, to clean your clubs, of course, but two, and uh very importantly, and I learned this very on, when you carry your back, it’s on your back, okay? And you’re walking, your clubs are going to rattle. And we’re trying to make the game as fast as possible and as easy as possible for everybody. So you’re going to want to walk all right when your com fellow playing partner is getting ready to hit a shot. You can even walk while he’s hitting as long as you’re not making noise and as long as you’re not bothering like you don’t want to be in his peripheral vision while you’re walking to your ball. So you don’t want to do that. So, what you do, you just kind of walk off to the side. Maybe you’re way on the left in the woods or wherever. He’s in the right trees and you’re in the fair, whatever. You’re walking your ball. Take your towel, okay? And just wrap it around some of your clubs. That’s another reason you want the long towel, so that you can hold this and make it a lot quieter when you walk. That’s what this towel is helpful for is to keep the clubs from clanking while you’re walking. And so you can get pretty good at that so that you can do that to get to your ball to help save time. So the towel serves many purposes. That’s another reason I like my putter down there, too, cuz it’s got extra cushion to help out here as well. I will put my rangefinder on the same clip. Some people do it differently, personal preference, but I go on the big clip there. It’s just because it’s heavier and that big clip is tougher, thicker. And so, if a bag doesn’t have one of those, I’m not happy. I don’t like that little string that they put on there. Like, if a if they don’t have a clip, a heavy duty clip, run away. And I put my brush on that one. And the reason I don’t put them on the same one is because they’re magnetized and it’s just hard to get it in there. I don’t want them all clanking together. So, I like one with a big clip and one with that little clip. Now, here is another game saver that will help you be more aware. you people will I want to say people will like you better but hopefully they like you already but they will appreciate they won’t even know it they’re going to like you better be but not because you do this cuz they’re not going to know but they’re just going to be like I really like that guy and it’s this is one of the reasons why and they’ll never know but you’ll know and people like I really like that guy I like playing with him I don’t know why there’s just something about him that’s what they’re going to say about you and it’s if you do this okay you’re walking to your ball and you’re 20 yards away. Okay. What you’re going to do is you’re going to flip this to one side like so. And you’re going to reach for your rangefinder, which is already going to be unzipped, and you’re going to have your little bungee cord on your thing. So, you’re going to be like 20 yards away. You’re going to reach for your rangefinder already. And as you’re still walking, you’re getting ready to shoot your number. So that way as soon as you’re there, you throw your bag down and bang, you got your number. Then you put it back and you just saved a bunch of time because that is so much better to do than to get to your spot, throw it down, and then reach. You’re just saving a few seconds here and there, but they add up. And I’m telling you, it’s one of those little things that people are going to really appreciate about you. The other thing is this. Let’s say you’re walking. Some people take their glove off after every shot. And there’s nothing more annoying than watching this guy get there. His rangefinder is not ready and his gloves aren’t ready. Now he’s like taking his time putting his glove on, whatever. I usually leave my glove on until I am on the green or until I’m walking too near the green. and then I take it off. But if you’re somebody that takes your glove off after every shot, which is acceptable, then what you do, you’re going to start 30 yards back, right? And then you’re going to take your glove out of your pocket. And as you’re walking up, you’re going to 10 yards is going to be putting on your glove. And then you’re going to grab your rangefinder, the last 10, 20 yards. And now when you set your bag down, you’re ready. You don’t have to do all the other stuff. And then you shoot it. Then you throw it in. And you don’t even have to bungee it yet. Like you could save another couple seconds. You got your stuff. You’re going to hit your shot. Whamo. You’re on the green. What I do here? This is critical. Precious little seconds where people are like, I love that guy. Okay, now I’m done, right? Maybe I clean my club a little bit. You don’t even have to do that yet. Grab your bag. and start going. And as I’m walking, I’m cleaning my club. And that’s why I throw it here because then I just get my hand close and my magnet catches that. I also can bungee up my rangefinder as I walk. And then I can throw my club in the holster as I’m walking. And then I throw it on the back. And if you do it like that, you feel more like you’re part of the Robin Hood crew because you just like you hit your shot, right? You got your your air, your weapon in your hand, right? You just cleaned the blood off of it from your amazing shot, right? The dirt. And you hear and you just you holster it. It’s like a sword now. And then you go and you’re walking and you just saved precious seconds. People won’t notice, but they will be like, “That’s a cool dude.” Now, we’re going uh super light walking. There’s two reasons you’re going to want this one. One is it’s a hillier course, so you need to conserve weight. So, you want as light as possible. Uh two, it’s not going to rain. Like if I have rain gear and extra sweater or layers, then I would go with the one we just had because they’re just more space and I’m Yeah, I’m just going to lug more weight around. That’s fine. But good weather, you don’t have to worry about that. Um, and more hills or you just like lightness, then this is the way to go. Three-way top here. Okay, so if this was a four-way top, it’d be perfect. But it’s a three-way. I’m like, why don’t they make the perfect bag? I’m sure they do. This is close. But again, that extra little divider is is weight. You got to count the cost on that one. But this one’s great. Here’s how you set this up. So, since it’s three-way top, I’m going just my three longest clubs up top. This is why I like a four-way top because then I can separate my irons a little better. But in this scenario, all my irons, like not wedges, but just irons go in that middle slot. So, you do have to fumble around a little to find the right one. But, you know, my four iron through 9 iron are in the middle slot. And then all the wedges will go down at the bottom, right down there. Fantastic. Some people will lose their putter head cover for a situation like this. I do not cuz I do not want to get dings on my putter face. And I put it again at the bottom. You can see things are a little more cramped in here. Not everything’s going all the way down. So you got to kind of stand it up to get things down. I do kick the toe back and up like so. just for like the clanking and banging around as we discussed previously. Towel here is a must. And for this situation, my towel kind of runs down the center of the bag. So, my towel goes down the middle. I do this on this one and the previous one. Kind of the same setup with the towel. Now, here’s what I’m talking about. We’re conserving weight so we don’t It’s not like a string. It’s a little more hefty kind of canvas material for this thing. I would prefer the heavy clip, but nonetheless, this is where my rangefinder does go and then my brush. They give me that one. So, that’s fantastic. Here, that’s my super light carry bag. I do love this thing. So, when I’m walking, this is the way I go. Assuming it’s not going to rain. And then all the other rules apply as far as pulling out your rangefinder ahead of time. Like so. Make sure your glove is on. You do your thing. You hit your shot. Pick it up. Start walking. Bungee that in. I’ll usually pull it to the side. And since I know it’s just the middle, that was a sixiron. It goes in the middle. That’s how we roll. So, that is the super light bag setup here. And the other piece here that’s critical for every bag. I like to have a pouch bag usually from one of my favorite courses. This is stream song. And this is where I keep all my TE’s, my divot tools, my ball markers just go in here. And then the amount of balls you carry is totally up to you. Everybody I’ve said I carry like three or four. Some people some people can’t do that. I get it. I mean it always depends too on where you’re playing how many balls. So six is usually the most I bring. Like if I lose five balls, it’s a bad day anyways. And then I’m just going to be looking in the bushes for balls if my sixth one goes too. So kind of the the round is a wash for me at that point. So for you, that’s how you determine how many balls to carry. Like if you lose this many, you don’t even care what happens in the rest of the round. That’s how many you carry. So like if I lose five, forget it. It’s a bad day. So that’s how I set up my cart bag, my buggy bag, my carry bag, and my super light carry bag. Hope this is helpful for you in whatever you decide to do. And maybe you picked up a couple little tips that can help your game along the way. Thanks for watching. Love you guys. Good luck out there.

  1. I prefer to have the open slot on the cart bag next to the driver. Perfect spot for alignment sticks.

For the staff bag, try putting it in on the cart on its side. I usually put mine on my clicgear with the “side” that has my sun screen down against the cart. Then I have full access to the back (balls, tees), the front (rain cover/jacket/gloves/valuables/phone/wallet/cash), and the other side (snacks – the important side).

If I need to reapply sunscreen it’s not a big deal to take a minute to take the bag off and re-load it. I’m going to need time for the sunscreen to dry anyway.

Looking for a walking/carry bag that has enough room at the bottom for Jumbomax Medium grips. I had to go back to the staff bag because my Hoofer and Jones bags just weren’t cutting it. Any recommends?

  2. I really appreciated your tips to save time. Nothing worse than waiting on people that aren’t ready. I’m also going to implement your towel tip when I carry the bag to reduce the clubs clanking.
