Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Korea Golf Association’s national squad capped a highly successful two-week Malaysian campaign in style as Kim Min-su claimed the Saujana Amateur Open Championship 2025 by three shots.
Korea’s top-ranked amateur posted rounds of 71, 68 and 70 to finish at seven-under-par 209 for 54 holes. Despite sporadic rain delays in the final round, the 17-year-old stayed steady down the stretch to secure a convincing victory at one of the region’s most prestigious amateur stops.
Australian Josiah Edwards finished second at four-under-par 212 (69, 70, 73), while Malaysia’s Aiden Kei thrilled the home crowd in third at two-under-par 214 (71, 70, 73). Kei’s final-round charge was highlighted by a hole-in-one on the par-three 12th, one of the tournament’s signature moments.
Kim’s win continued a strong run in Malaysia after he placed fourth in last week’s Malaysian Amateur Open at Permaipura Golf & Country Club. Kim was runner-up in that championship a year ago at Sabah Golf & Country Club, and this season’s progress has included a tie for seventh at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in Dubai. He currently stands 220th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
At Permaipura, Kim’s teammates An Hae-cheon and Yang Yun-seo claimed the men’s and women’s titles respectively, underscoring the depth of the Korean program during the tour.
An again showed his class at Saujana, opening with a field-leading 67 before sliding back with rounds of 72 and 76. He finished tied for fourth alongside fellow Korean Park Jae-min and Malaysia’s Anson Yeo at one-over-par 215.

Korea Golf Association Director of Elite Development Ko Sang-won emphasized that overseas winter campaigns are a key part of the team’s long-term pathway, providing competitive opportunities when Korea’s domestic season is shut down by weather.
The Saujana Amateur Open ran from November 25–27, 2025, attracting more than 100 elite amateurs from 22 countries. First staged in 1988, the championship has grown into one of Asia-Pacific amateur golf’s cornerstone events, consistently drawing top-ranked talent and national squads from across the region and beyond.
